  7. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:12 PM

well, I'm obviously not seeing something
All I see is a lake (or bay or water) and a tree and some people (maybe lovers?) and driftwood, and sand and sky and clouds...

been looking at the tree trying to make something out of it but :-(

  8. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:20 PM

    nope - not mongoose either...

This is supposed to be the easy puzzle??

  9. FileGarlick1w1 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:21 PM

    Try looking from further away......

  10. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:23 PM

Holy Crap that just blew my mind. It was nothing, nothing, nothing, then BAM! And once you see it, it just won't go away. Things like that always creep me out.

Leadfoot, try backing away and looking at it.

On that note, I'm taking a much needed nap 'til the puzzles are *supposed* to be up...

  11. 188227_100Rocketmaluba on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:26 PM

    wait a minute...

that WAS the answer? omg. i saw THAT in the first 2 seconds. i just figured... i dunno.. i was supposed to DO something with it. it's just the answer.

    oh.

this isn't a word puzzle. it's a hidden picture puzzle. can you find the hidden picture?

some salt for those who haven't seen it. try taking a piece of paper and covering up everything from the left edge all the way to the people. then ignore the people, and look at the thin strip that is still showing. once you see what's hidden, take the paper away and you'll see the rest.

  12. FileGarlick1w1 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:24 PM

[11] Yes, I thought I was supposed to do something else with it too but couldn't make anything work.
    Dissapointing really/

  13. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:34 PM

I have found what may be a hidden picture...
but - if that's something I'm supposed to recognize - is it something I may not recognize from under my rock???

    Some cartoon character?

  14. 2458377427_39b86a6bf0CarrotMilkyway on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:34 PM

    Look at it differently

  15. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:41 PM

I was seeing a face on the right side of the picture, with the horizontal branch being a smiling mouth, the branch above coming from the left being the eye...

but now I see it differently.

    Thanks all

  16. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:54 PM

    Wow - that's neat!

  17. Avatar_profileOrangematzebrei on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:55 PM

[15] Check BGG for higher-concentration salt.

  18. Avatar_profileCherriesRMS on Fri Sep 07, 2007 07:00 PM

LOL - so, I saw it the whole time, but didn't think it could be that easy.

  19. FilePotatoDrParty06 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 07:06 PM

    whoa that is really creepy.

  20. FileBananaArchangel on Fri Sep 07, 2007 07:10 PM

It's almost sad to solve it, because then you can't see the original picture any more.

  21. 16046416814695847231e60Lemonsk8ingbeaver on Fri Sep 07, 2007 07:15 PM

if you think you see a heart, imagine it as a foot.

  22. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Fri Sep 07, 2007 07:17 PM

This puzzle is on quite a few other sites. Weak.

  23. Avatar_profileApplepyrok on Fri Sep 07, 2007 07:27 PM

[10] No kidding! I didn't see it and then someone else walked into the room and said it. Now that's all I can see! Creepy.

  24. FileApplegilby123 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 07:40 PM

I LOVE these kinda things, even though they drive me nuts till I can see the two different things.

It'd be interesting to find out how many women see it faster than men. I was looking for nearly five minutes. Then I saw it, put in the answer, and showed Mom. She got it in 3 seconds. :p

  25. Avatar_profileKiwibunnymama on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:08 PM

What helped me was looking at it from across the room for a minute or so, then coming back and looking at it from normal distance. As soon as I came back, poof! There it was.

  26. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:24 PM

    [24] gilby123
well, it took me 34 minutes... maybe the highest time for the night!

  27. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:15 PM

From what it looks like to me, that is technically the wrong answer.

  28. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:16 PM

My boyfriend saw it quicker than I did. And I've had two of these.

  29. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:35 PM

    yup, saw 'it'
    once seen, cannot unsee.

  30. Thumb_bruceleeAppler0xjo0 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:46 PM

Seen this one before, so it only took a couple of seconds. Great puzzle. Wish I would have thought of adding this one.

  31. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:51 PM

Strange question....aren't these puzzles usually original? Should anyone other than the person responsible submit a puzzle?

  32. FileDuckiedavey3 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:54 PM

I hadn't seen this one before ... great illusion. Took me a while to see anything but the lake and tree.

  33. Chain_bunnyEggIrrenarzt on Fri Sep 07, 2007 09:04 PM

Wow, my first thought was no way I'm getting this. Then it jumped out at me.

  34. Avatar_profileLemonDJester on Fri Sep 07, 2007 10:17 PM

Dude, that's freaky. looking at it across the room helps.

  35. Avatar_profilePearfreelancelot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 10:22 PM

I would agree with [27] that the answer should be _ _ _ _ _ rather than _ _ _ _ But then again, that would even be more creepy…

  36. Avatar_profilePeachCUTHALI0N on Fri Sep 07, 2007 10:50 PM

[27] I agree. I didn't get it right until my second attempt.

  37. Avatar_profileGrapesJasonLP on Fri Sep 07, 2007 10:52 PM

[35] That was my first guess, too. And my wife's.

  38. FileOnionimapuzzl on Sat Sep 08, 2007 04:21 AM

I've seen this illusion before. But 10 seconds to solve is still fast for me. Maybe I should start staying up late to see the puzzles when they first get posted.

  39. HarleyKiwipetiepooch on Sat Sep 08, 2007 05:33 AM

    nice!!!!

  40. Avatar_profileOrangeBulldozers on Sat Sep 08, 2007 06:58 AM

    Fun!

  41. FilePearjulesfordale3 on Sat Sep 08, 2007 08:00 AM

wow... 4 sec.... I've seen this one before!!!

  42. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Sat Sep 08, 2007 08:03 AM

[31] As someone who crafts original puzzles, I have to say that I'm disappointed that this was accepted. Link to it, put it in the forum, but don't pawn it off as your own.

  43. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Sep 08, 2007 08:05 AM

[42] I was beginning to think I was the only one who had a problem with this. It seems that we could all just steal someone else's image and submit it as something we "created." It seems unethical to me.

  44. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Sep 08, 2007 08:44 AM

    [35] freelancelot
    much of the world believes a _ _ _ _ _ IS a _ _ _ _

  45. Avatar_profilePearaneese on Sat Sep 08, 2007 01:56 PM

I wonder who the artist of the actual picture is, thats a cool picture

    freaky tree though

your right though once you see "it" you only see "it"

  46. 188227_100Rocketmaluba on Sat Sep 08, 2007 01:41 PM

[42] I also felt that way when I saw it. I was wondering why the puzzle said "Author: ldstalk" when I've seen this image in many other places before.

The puzzle creator should actually... I dunno... CREATE the puzzle.
Hey... I made up a puzzle, too.... You land on an island where one tribe of people always tell the truth, and the other tribe always lie....

    oh, never mind.

  47. AvatarApplebagherra on Sat Sep 08, 2007 03:05 PM

    very cool.

  48. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Sep 08, 2007 03:11 PM

[46] Does it involve a block of ice and a midget?

  49. PaxStrawberrymrsgottrocks on Fri Sep 21, 2007 12:14 PM

I followed a link here, and knew the answer from the link, but took a minute to stare at the photo and get it. What a neat picture. If original to author, KUDOS!

  50. Avatar_profileEggplantdsgirl on Sun May 23, 2010 09:40 AM

    Awesome!!!

  51. FileOnionPatanga on Fri Jul 29, 2011 06:58 AM

    Love this puzzle!

  52. ErwinPepperTangaAl on Wed Sep 07, 2011 04:07 PM

Well, this is a different OWW. I like it, though.
