Got it after four letters clicked into place. Bonecrushingly tricky, I thought - but fun!

Tricksy! I was able to do it without matrices based on one of the clues.

solved by hand, so it took a few minutes. I like math-based puzzles, though. Fun puzzle.

I narrowed four of the numbers down to one of two each, then tried both sets. One gave me something that looked promising.

Nice puzzle. I avoided the matrix hell too, based on a couple of nuggets hidden in there. 22:51.

Solved 4 of the letters pretty quickly, and probably should've used a crossword solver to get the rest rather than resorting to a matrix in Excel. The answer is clever.

This is the one that made me miss my train stop - at the end of the line!!!

"Each of the numbers that belong in the blanks below is between 1 and 26, and they all add up to 92." was not technically correct because 1 is not between 1 and 26, it is inclusive of 1 and 26. That really hung me up.
