# It took you 47 seconds to solve this puzzle.
# You were the 1st Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Two firsts in a row! And both in 47 seconds. Weird.
# It took you 36 seconds to solve this puzzle.
# You were the 9th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
I should have started with this one. I'm still stumped on the easy one.
It took you 1 minute and 27 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 5th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Algebraic...
16th after 7 minutes, I'll take it! The research from that last chess puzzle actually stuck with me, so I had half a clue!
# It took you *no time at all* to brag about your time (that no one cares about) to solve a lame puzzle.
# You were the umpteenth Tanga member to do so.
not too hard.
salt?
lol...somebody's a little bitter
wow, that was crazy easy
oh shoot, everyone thinks this is easy but I don't know where to start
[10] I'm with you. And since it's so easy, no one will salt...
I'm afraid I'm not very good at chess notation. I think I'll have to wait until this one is more heavily salted either here or on BGG.
That's usually the way it is [11]. Chess boards have so many letter number combinations, it is hard to know where to look.
[10] don't feel bad...
i'm not generally very good at chess puzzles, so maybe that's what hanging me up...
OK, just got it. Only the most rudimentary chess notation is needed, i.e. rows and columns. Google will help there. Then just TANGA what you see.
[10], [11], and [12], you really don't need to know much about chess other than the fact that it's a rook and not a castle, and a knight and not a horsey. Ponder it for a bit and I think you'll get it.
I was already aware of the names of the pieces.
I know chess notation. I know which pieces are which. I know how the board is set up. Not seeing anything past that though.
ANOTHER chess puzzle?
seems i knew too much about chess to get it quickly.
There is one glaring problem with the puzzle, but I have had enough. The answer will require breaking one rule or assuming the point of view of the white player.
You need to know the names of the pieces and nothing else about chess,
[8] I assume that was directed at me, and no, I solved it. It just reeks of smarmy self back patting and there's no purpose or need for it.
It took you 1 hour, 0 minutes and 17 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 79th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Man, I'm dense!
(happy now?)
hm what does it mean by rank and serial number? If like something is b2 is that the rank/number?
FYI to maker: There's two answers that could work.
My knowledge of chess notation hurt me more than a bit here.
oop got it. i was doing knight "night" lol im tired it screwed me all up
Ugh, I had this one all upside-down. Totally wasted time when all I had to do was start from the right side of the board.
[5] sabbath
Maybe you don't care, but you don't speak for everybody. I AM interested in how other people do on the puzzles.
So if you don't care, then don't read the posts - move on - quit griping.
yes, no excel needed
Got it. Good Puzzle.
What's with the fruit?
(29) I'm with you on that, Leadfoot
[21] Hope2002
"glaring problem"?
"breaking one rule"?
I admit, this configuration is unlikely in an actual game, but I have a light square in the lower right so there really are only two orientations for the board. I go by the same name at BGG if you'd be so kind as to clue me in.
[26] gilby123
What's the second answer? (I don't deny that it might exist, I just wasn't aware of it, so I'm curious.)
If you can hint without disturbing the accepted answer, please do, otherwise, I am reachable at BGG by the same name.
Thanks.
Wow! we have a BigRob and a Bigrob!! I guess the usernames are case sensitive.
[32] BigRob
Read about the point system here.

The fruit indicates what point level you have achieved.
[36] I thought for a second that Bigrob must have cycled through all the fruit and had to start over.
I give up. None of the letter/number combinations I can come up with give me anything that remotely resembles a word or anagram.
does the color play a factor in the puzzle
color: no
Tanga the piece names
Only chess knowledge needed: Names of the pieces.
Other knowledge req'd: The ability to count.
;)
I'm lost...
What is this "Tanga"ing I keep reading about?
[42] Leadfoot's excellent Tanga puzzle FAQ has a section on Tanga Numbers. It is at the bottom: http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/980-PUZZLER-FAQS.
Man...once the "aha" hit, it was rediculously simple. I kept getting the order wrong though.
