hmmm...none of the obvious are working...
Not here either. Tried it with the Y at the end and without.
wow! good puzzle.
Bah! Alternate spelling.
I might not have been telling the truth in that first comment
[4] There's only one spelling of which I'm aware, I swear it!
[1] None of the obvious are working for me, and I'm running out of tenses.
Never mind - forgot it was a OWW.
[4] I'm not sure what you mean. Merriam-Webster shows this spelling and no other. It dates to the 14th century. They spell it differently where you live?
[8] I had the same problem, fwiw.
I am totally lost much much more than usual
ahh finally a post and solve, well post and solve 28 min later
[6] and [9] I probably meant alternate to my atrocious spelling!
In my defence, a google of spelling it with an "o" instead of a "u" gives thousands of results. This only goes to show that there are spellers worse than me.
Cold comfort!
[12] Or that you should never GOOGLE for spelling - a lesson I learned the hard way last year, moderating a few puzzles that ended up with typos despite my checking them :)
89th I wish I knew how to spell
Did no one else skip over the more obvious noun in order to try the verb? I think the puzzle is missing an "ing".
[8] Doh! Me too.
I got nothing...
got it, thanks due to time.
Good puzzle.
Feeling Moronic since I am not getting it. I see it ... just don't know why it does not like my answer.
I just don't see this one - and there has not been one bit of salt offered.
[21]
see [5], and [6] for some salt
[20] remember this is a One Word Wonder - you might just have another step to do
do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth
