My first attempt. I new it would be easy! Actually I was kinda surprised it was accepted. I figured it was too easy.

  6. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Oct 05, 2007 07:23 PM

[5] easy? so far I'm clueless

  7. FileGarlicHope2002 on Oct 05, 2007 07:24 PM

That was a bit vague to be the easy one. WTF?

  8. FileDuckiedavey3 on Oct 05, 2007 07:25 PM

14th in 1.5 minutes, but I have no idea why my answer works.

  9. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Oct 05, 2007 07:26 PM

It's not the gunbarrel company.... www.wpgbc.com

  10. Chain_bunnyEggIrrenarzt on Oct 05, 2007 07:33 PM

Wow only 22? People taking the night off or something?

  11. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Oct 05, 2007 07:34 PM

[10] I think everyone is at a loss.

  12. FilePlumSpanky on Oct 05, 2007 07:35 PM

    [11] You got that right.....

  13. 11111Radishzestyonion on Oct 05, 2007 07:36 PM

    It's not piglet!

  14. 11111Radishzestyonion on Oct 05, 2007 07:36 PM

    ???

  15. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Oct 05, 2007 07:39 PM

The rebus is as straightforward as it gets. Finding a synonym is the second step. Hope that's not too much salt.

  16. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Oct 05, 2007 07:39 PM

    I'm sty-mied.

  17. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Oct 05, 2007 07:42 PM

[15] A synonym for what? pig?

spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does...

  18. FilePepperdajagr on Oct 05, 2007 07:44 PM

Oy, gevalt! I've never heard of that term before, and neither had the dictionary I usually frequent. It took a fair bit of digging around before I managed to dig up the term.

  19. Avatar_profileApplepyrok on Oct 05, 2007 07:47 PM

[18] Ditto. Gotta love that Google!

  20. Avatar_profileKiwibunnymama on Oct 05, 2007 07:49 PM

Okay now that is hilarious. We can see one of these from the window of our office. A couple weeks ago, we must have spent and entire afternoon looking up different names for it. We all had a good laugh at this one and it is now the name of choice. (Yes we are easily ammused...)

  21. FileSailboatchubbchsr on Oct 05, 2007 07:49 PM

When in doubt, Google what you see.

  22. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Oct 05, 2007 07:49 PM

[17] A synonym for the rebus as a whole.

  23. FileBananaethnosax on Oct 05, 2007 07:56 PM

I'll bet that now that I've solved this one, I'll wake up to "I Got You Babe" on the radio morning after morning after morning....

Glad Im from the South!!! That was easy!

  25. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Oct 05, 2007 08:02 PM

OK, I didn't know that term. Thank goodness for [18] and Google. It must be a regional term.

  26. FilePlumSpanky on Oct 05, 2007 08:07 PM

Well, I guess you learn something new every day. I've never heard it called that before. And [23], Nice connection!

  27. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Oct 05, 2007 08:08 PM

[23] Thank you - that comment (and the Tanga point) saved this for us.

  28. FileTomatoMurdoctor on Oct 05, 2007 08:13 PM

    Horrible. Thanks, [21].

It's really bad when the Urban Dictionary is what comes up for an obscure regional colloquialism. Wikipedia works even better than Google, in this case.

  29. FileRadishmhuber on Oct 05, 2007 08:11 PM

Without [23] I'd still be scratching my head...actually I still am but at least I got the answer!

  30. 11111Radishzestyonion on Oct 05, 2007 08:12 PM

wow, I should come up with one of these things that only a few people in some small obscure part of the country know!!!

  31. Sp_chrisGrapescsniezek on Oct 05, 2007 08:25 PM

Given where I come from, this puzzle made me think of a Sahlen's hot dog wrapped in bacon and smothered in cheese sauce. Hard to think of anything past that (mmmm....).

  32. Tanga-pink-avatarBananaMorganza on Oct 05, 2007 08:28 PM

    D'Oh!

  33. AvatarApplebagherra on Oct 05, 2007 08:29 PM

    common term, uncommon synonym

I should make boudain the answer to a puzzle...that'll learn them.

  34. Avatar_profileGrapesmelantha on Oct 05, 2007 08:29 PM

Absolutely no clue why it's called that, but got it.

  35. FileStrawberryhappyjosiah on Oct 05, 2007 08:46 PM

Wow. Put me in the "never heard of that before" catagory.

  36. FileApplegilby123 on Oct 05, 2007 09:15 PM

No IDEA why the answer is the answer.

  37. FileRadishThosw on Oct 05, 2007 09:21 PM

[33] If you do, send some my way - with some stone-ground mustard, if you please.

  38. MeGrapesgahndalph on Oct 05, 2007 09:51 PM

what I want to know is - where is this term used?
In New England its a WC

  39. FileAppleqwertyca on Oct 05, 2007 09:56 PM

I have the feeling I've been doing this puzzle over and over and over and over again...

  40. FileRocketfeydjm on Oct 05, 2007 10:37 PM

I'm from the south and I've never heard one called this before.

  41. Avatar_profileOrangeainsworth on Oct 06, 2007 10:46 AM

edit: not woodchuck and this puzzle makes no sense to me whatsoever

  42. FeralthumbWatermelonFeraldj on Oct 05, 2007 11:17 PM

I completely feel dumb by this one. Having to look it up on google seems cheap. :(

  43. FileRocketokmaybenot on Oct 06, 2007 12:55 AM

[23] is what got me there. Thank you. It was only after seeing that I was able to back solve with google.

  44. FileAppleLegomancer on Oct 06, 2007 06:31 AM

    The answer isn't "whistlepig".

I think the answer should ALWAYS be "whistlepig".

  45. Avatar_profileKiwiLeezer on Oct 06, 2007 03:36 PM

I am also from the south and I have NEVER heard of this before. I wouldn't have gotten it if not for Google.

  46. Sc002a57f6Pumpkinrunart on Oct 06, 2007 04:35 PM
