You were the 1st Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Can you hear me now?
3rd, managed with 1st and last letter.
5th - wasn't sure on the 4th letter at first (didn't identify it immediately).
as an elementary school teacher, i have to (nitpickingly) point out that the fourth clue is technically wrong. that letter doesn't really do what the others do... but i won't get into it now, because it'd be too salty.
you could ask my friends Joan and Jon... they might be willing to tell ya right now.
(i could make a case for the third one being wrong for the same reason, but i think it's been called this so many times as a label, that everyone thinks of it this way now)
Just out of interest, what is the fruit?
EDIT: Belay that, just worked it out.
nice fit between the answer and method. good one.
This puzzle came up 3 minutes after I left my computer!
[4] I was considering making the same comments. Also an elementary school teacher, here.
I always try to make these harder than they are. For some reason, I kept trying to make "adage" or other similar words fit with the other clues. The salt in [4] finally clicked and I realized the first "clue" was the "title" and ta-da.
Lovely.
not to sound like a noob but how do I find out my time to completion and how far down the list I completed the puzzle?

Boy, I'm just not seeing this one...
I think my fourth clue fits. There are two words that could be used. Both work, one follows the rule properly, the other loosely. Check the solution tomorrow.
It doesn't matter how easy the puzzle is, when I'm done, I always think, "Hey, cool!"
And yes, I agree with the author, [4] is wrong. If you think of the right word, the letter fits.
Salt to help see why clue 4 works: What is this clue made of? What word commonly comes after that? (hope that isn't too salty, but unless you've figured the puzzle out already, I don't think it will help much...)
[14] can't SEE the 4th item. use a larger picture!
it's just a small orange blob.
Made bigger
Am i the only one who doesn't get this? And i don't mean this in an "i'm giving salt while pretending i don't get it" way.
.
[19] Nope, I'm not seeing it either.
i agree with [20]
=)
I get the second part, don't know what to do with the words
[4] made it click for me.
I've salted over at BGG.

[25] What's that link again? I am so going to use it.

Got it with BGG salt. [28] would probably have done it as well, but man, i just was not seeing that one on my own.
I think it would've beene easier if the hint wasn't a question.
I got it without the fruit. WTH *is* that?! I know the letter, but can't get what it is! =-/
[31] It's a raspberry.
Got it with 28. The BGG salt didn't help me at all.
The third one doesn't really fit in my opinion. I'll have to see what the solution says for it later.
I agree the third is an accepted convention and a method for teaching pronunciation whereas the others are more strict in application. [4] referred to it.
