    What?

  3. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Oct 11, 2007 07:05 PM

Hmmm, I got it with a half-guess. Not sure why/how it works.

  4. Avatar_profileCarrotalchemist on Oct 11, 2007 07:08 PM

Same here...clues helped, but not a straightforward solution that I could see.

  5. FileRocketfeydjm on Oct 11, 2007 07:16 PM

Image not working for me. Anyone else having trouble?

  6. 11111Radishzestyonion on Oct 11, 2007 07:17 PM

    yeah, not so straight forward!

  7. FileXylophoneDavmar on Oct 11, 2007 07:18 PM

    I CAN't see it yet

  8. FileAppleMCTMike on Oct 11, 2007 07:20 PM

    That was delightful. Fun puzzle.

    :-)

  10. FilePepperdajagr on Oct 11, 2007 07:38 PM

Gah. I had all the pieces, and it took me six minutes to put them together.

  11. FileGarlick1w1 on Oct 11, 2007 07:44 PM

    Not seeing this at all.

  12. MeGrapesgahndalph on Oct 11, 2007 07:52 PM

all I see is warbitehol (bite in warhol)

  13. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Oct 11, 2007 08:07 PM

[12] It's a generic term for the item pictured and it's a small bite like a chipmunk might make.

I guess this once didn't turn out to be as easy as I'd hoped.

  14. FileGarlick1w1 on Oct 11, 2007 08:15 PM

I have an answer that works but is wrong.
SOUPCON which means a small taste (nibble) and is also close enough to soup can for most tangas.
Any chance you could change your answer to fit mine?
    :-)

  15. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Oct 11, 2007 08:24 PM

[14] I wouldn't want to make the natives restless. They might throw me in the pot for that. With lots of salt, of course.

  16. FileBananagrant5 on Oct 11, 2007 08:25 PM

This warmup took me longer than the wonder, but it finally clicked with the salt from [13]. Thanks!

  17. PaxStrawberrymrsgottrocks on Oct 11, 2007 08:26 PM

Too cute. Took me three minutes, but I was all caught up in Halloween spirit so I was making much ado about nothing. What you see is what you get, what a concept!

  18. FileGarlick1w1 on Oct 11, 2007 08:27 PM

[15] lol! You wouldn't believe how many times I tried that combination in my head without making the connection!
    (I still like my answer.... :-) )

  19. FileDuckiedavey3 on Oct 11, 2007 08:43 PM

    Another good puzzle from robrizob.

  20. FilePeachsouthaustin on Oct 11, 2007 09:18 PM

This works best in the missionary position.

  21. Avatar_profilePearbver100 on Oct 11, 2007 09:45 PM

    i kept thinking munchkin =)

  22. FileAppleqwertyca on Oct 11, 2007 09:59 PM

[13] did it for me lol.

  23. FilePearjulesfordale3 on Oct 12, 2007 03:23 AM

wow... I guessed... no way I would have figured this one out...

  24. FilePumpkincherylo on Oct 12, 2007 06:08 AM

if you ask me, it should have been a skin-colored can. Or an elongated spam can.

  25. FileOrangeDustinasu on Oct 12, 2007 06:46 AM

It took you 29 seconds to solve this puzzle.

yeah i just randomly guessed...i want to see the solution so i can see the logic behind it

  26. FileGrapesdantan98 on Oct 12, 2007 06:52 AM

I'm a programmer, so I can't get past the whole Xxxxxx -> Bit -> Byte process in my head! LOL

Edited: Commented prior to solve - Didn't realize my original comment was too salty! lmao! =-D

  27. Avatar_profileCarrotalchemist on Oct 12, 2007 06:53 AM

[13] Ah, now I see. The chipmunk term did not dawn on me at all. At least the solution males sense now! Thanks.

  28. FilePepperChupper on Oct 12, 2007 07:00 AM

Shoulda used a can of fava beans instead of soup!

  29. Avatar_profileApplemicronerd on Oct 12, 2007 07:19 AM

[13] that's some pretty heavy salt, but it did it for me. For some reason, my first thought was "catnip" and I had a hard time getting off the "nip." I agree that this one seemed to have quite a few good answers. . .maybe Tanga should do a OWW where they just put a picture up and accept all answers, then publish whichever answers were cleverest.

  30. Avatar_profileCherriessistasaint on Oct 12, 2007 07:21 AM

I'm new here and this is my first puzzle. Perhaps rob can give me an idea of to solve this? Will the answer be shown tomorrow?

  31. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Oct 12, 2007 07:32 AM

[29] The speech bubbles are intended to narrow down to the correct answer. That said, I understand what people are saying about multiple possibilities. That's a neat idea about the OWW.

[30] This one's not my best effort, but it's essentially a visual pun, so just say what you see. My heavy "salt" or hint in [13] or [15] should help you if you can't get it.

There is a very helpful puzzler FAQ here: http://tanga.com/forum/blogs/980-PUZZLER-FAQS.

Yeah! My first Tanga point. "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale. A tale of a fateful trip."

Comment 15 helped a lot. Thanks! I so suck at these that anytime I get one right is a cause for mighty celebration. Break out the champagne!

  35. Interlocking_nyRadishNiner on Oct 12, 2007 11:56 AM

took a guess, it worked! oh {15} helped alot.

  36. P1000759Grapesmarjhan on Oct 12, 2007 12:43 PM

Could have put a pre-steer on the label and ended up with the same thing..

  37. FileRocketArchangel on Oct 12, 2007 06:07 PM

Is Xxxxxx of [26] part of the answer?
