Salt free....nice easy start. I wonder if they get harder each hour?
oh no... stalker!
good puzzle... very straightforward. IMO, of course.
Now to wipe off my screen. :)
First User Created Puzzlethon = FUCP = New tab above (for now).
So will the puzzlethon end at 7 pm (Pacific time). If so, guess I won't be in the running for any prizes as I am out of loop tomorrow night. Congrats to those who can access all 24 puzzles in a timely manner.
(Or will the deadline be extended like the last puzzlethon by 12 hours?)
what does this mean?
1/20 4am - 1/20 2am - David Green

Yeah...that'll never happen again. Which is why it must be immortalized here.
The last puzzlethon was extended because of a server crash that didn't allow a bunch of people in to see the last few puzzles.
Well, if it wasn't for work getting in the way, I had this in under two minutes. Grumble grumble. Still, my fastest time ever.
And yes, I am at work. How much does that suck?
could someone who's solved the puzzle meet me at BGG please?
Agree that the server issues were a contributing factor to the extension....but I would like a definite "end time" for the contest. None is listed on the FUCP page.
I am assuming 7 PM so won't bust my hump to solve any puzzles I miss while sleeping tonight (and in an airplane tomorrow). But if the contest does indeed end at a different, later time, I would be more inclined to make best efforts on the puzzles I missed.
I'm there, weirdo
I feel like I clearly have the answer, but its not right. Is there another step I just missing?
drat...I had solved this quickly but was told my answer was wrong...turned out I missed copying one letter that made it plural...grr.
Still, a nice smooth start to the puzzlethon
Ack! Me too theokester.
thanks for the help!
Anybody old enough to remember "Winky Dink and You?" I suggest a Winky Dink stick-on screen and WipeOff pens for Puzzlethons.
Nice straightforward puzzle to begin with. Bet they won't *all* be that easy, though... :)
[17] I had a similar problem but was so convinced I was right that I backed out a browser upgrade I did this afternoon and tried to re-submit, and then installed a second browser to sumbit with because I knew it couldn't be me that was wrong!
As usual, it was me that was wrong. So I'm pretty happy with my 9 minute solve time since I can tell myself it was really much less :-)
Man, I hope they're all this easy. I'll stay up all night doing puzzles...
Not. There is no way I'm going to stay up all night just to do puzzles. As much fun as this could be, I couldn't solve the toilet lid at 4 in the morning.
16] taschwar-- i think i did the same thing too....you might want to think 'plural'
txbeck, i found MS Paint worked great since i wasn't close to a printer.
this one would have been easier with a printer... but it was still fun!
Weirdo... did you get my geekmail?
Nevermind...
thanks, hld1970. I got it from [17].

I laughed, because while my dad was going downstairs to get the printout (and get a bowl of icecream) I'm holding a highlighter in my hand and wondering what it would do to my laptop screen...
I resisted.
The printer is now sitting right next to me (luckily it is pretty small).
and woo hoo! I have a puzzle in the mix!!!!
I saw that, leadfoot! Looking forward to it ...
And just in case anyone saw my name and is still sore about SAMOA ... don't worry. I submitted a (much, much, much) simpler puzzle this time. ;-)
[7pm] I must be on the wrong track, because I got "DOOLOODOWGDLF".
any chance of getting the 12 hour buffer like last time? i'm going to be offline after about 9am or 10am (eastern) tomorrow until late saturday night. )=
In relation to [30]...now I see how to do it, and now I feel rather silly.
[32] KK - you can always go back and edit that message to remove some of the silliness you feel.
Yay! A rare salt-free solve for me. Hopefully I'll get them all as easily, but I'm not holding my breath. :D
RPardoe - Well, the public silliness, yes...but the private shame would remain.

I spent waaay to long on a decidedly wrong track. Very nice puzzle!
Wait, 5 seconds and I'm the 5th fastest? At least it wasn't one I needed to unload salt on! :)
