    Excellent puzzle!

  2. Thumb_bruceleeAppler0xjo0 on Nov 29, 2007 08:19 PM

hmmmm... I got nothing. The easy and hard were cake, but I am stumped on this.

  3. Avatar_profileApplebennicholson on Nov 29, 2007 07:22 PM

[2] I'm with you, this is the last one for me and I'm nowhere close to having an idea

  4. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Nov 29, 2007 07:22 PM

    [2], [3] Ditto

  5. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Nov 29, 2007 07:28 PM

[2] - [4] Yup. So many options for the first one, none of which make sense with the second one. And no clue on the third one. :)

  6. FileSailboatIlta on Nov 29, 2007 07:30 PM

that's not one word at all!

  7. Avatar_profileAppleTarindel on Nov 29, 2007 07:33 PM

Think I have part of it but I have no clue what the ladies are implying...

Gah, I was thinking the answer was one word... but it's not. This is a cryptopix.

  8. FilePlumtehawesome on Nov 29, 2007 07:32 PM

[6] Dah! It got much easier once you said that. Thanks!

  9. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Nov 29, 2007 07:33 PM

    [8] Salt for the dense?

  10. Ag1Potatojeep on Nov 29, 2007 07:35 PM

The first two seem easy enough, but how does the third fit? Hmm...

EDIT: *slaps forehead* Sheesh... too simple, I overthought.

Salt: Try describing the third picture out loud if you get stuck on it.

  11. Shopping_bag_apTomatoshopper1 on Nov 29, 2007 07:34 PM

The directions on the home page correctly state "a word or phrase" -- bear this in mind

  12. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Nov 29, 2007 07:36 PM

And the directions on THIS page say " Is it the word..." :(

  13. Avatar_profileBananafratzkehw on Nov 29, 2007 07:39 PM

You're right jeep - I overthought it too! Duh!

  14. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Nov 29, 2007 07:42 PM

Yeah, I NEVER would have gotten that without brainstorming with a friend on the first pic.

  15. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Nov 29, 2007 07:49 PM

    sigh.... just not getting it...

  16. FilePotatobradman on Nov 29, 2007 07:53 PM

    I've got it!

    "Sharpening Nest Ladies saying Goodness"

Am I overthinking it? ;-) Seriously, someone throw me a frickin' bone.

  17. FileRocketfeydjm on Nov 29, 2007 07:54 PM

No salt helping me at all. I guess I'm forsaking these points...

  18. Avatar_profileBananafratzkehw on Nov 29, 2007 07:56 PM

Question: How much goodness do those ladies have between them?

  19. FilePotatoShinigamiSPQR on Nov 29, 2007 08:00 PM

    Grrrr...
I thought that the act depicted in picture one was whetting. And there aren't very many sayings that start with wetness.

  20. FilePotatobradman on Nov 29, 2007 08:02 PM

[18] just what I needed. Man, was I way off on the first picture. Thanks!

  21. FileApplesanloublues on Nov 29, 2007 08:09 PM

I had a decent obscene answer that involved wetness and a frank discussion between the ladies.

  22. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Nov 29, 2007 08:11 PM

"I had a decent obscene answer that involved wetness and a frank discussion between the ladies."

    LOL

  23. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Nov 29, 2007 08:15 PM

For those stuck on the first pic, it is NOT "sharpening" or any derivation thereof. I love my thesaurus.

  24. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Nov 29, 2007 08:19 PM

Ow... not impressed. Doesn't even sound close.

  25. FilePotatoDrParty06 on Nov 29, 2007 08:23 PM

argh that's the first thing i thought of when i saw the puzzle but thought it couldn't possibly be the answer.

  26. Avatar_profileAppletravelocity on Nov 29, 2007 08:30 PM

I agree with you [25]. The first two I got on the first guess, but was totally stumped by the third.
Also, took a while to realize multi-word answers were possible in this puzzle type.

  27. English_d_betterApplemrdehate on Nov 29, 2007 08:43 PM

It helps if you think outside the box on that first picture. [23] is good advice.

  28. Avatar_profileOrangetman110 on Nov 29, 2007 08:52 PM

Man it took me for ever I guess I need to "Improve" my skills, especially in cutlery

  29. FileAppleFez on Nov 29, 2007 08:57 PM

I have no idea about the women.

  30. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Nov 29, 2007 08:59 PM

[18] Thanks - that triggered the light bulb moment!

  31. FilePlumdogmatix on Nov 29, 2007 09:13 PM

    [18] Yep, thanks.

  32. FileDuckiedavey3 on Nov 29, 2007 09:16 PM

[23] - thanks for the thesaurus suggestion! There's no way I would have come up with that word without it.

  33. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Nov 30, 2007 05:56 AM

[23] led me away from the right answer, because it does nave something to do with sharpening...

  34. FileKiwijgoewert on Nov 30, 2007 06:05 AM

Quote from the top: "One Word Wonders are puzzles where the answer to the puzzle is exactly one word. For a better idea on how to solve this puzzle, see an example "

My grammar teacher would be over there with yardstick in hand... a "word" does not have spaces... or include three words.

  35. FileGrapesTatsu on Nov 30, 2007 06:22 AM

bad that this was multiple words

  36. FilePlumgene613 on Nov 30, 2007 08:53 AM

Thanks [18] & [23], both of yours helped me together.

  37. Avatar_profileAppleRPMiller on Nov 30, 2007 08:55 AM

It isn't the sound it is the spelling.

  38. FilePlumsjlee on Nov 30, 2007 09:09 AM

Wow, I was stumped until [6] gave me the salt I needed.

[34] [35] That's true, except this isn't a One Word Wonder... it's a Cryptopix. From the home page:

    Cryptopix
    By: threehojos (4266 Points)

Put pictures together to form a word or phrase and win 10 Tanga Points.

  39. FileStrawberryaaron01edwards on Nov 30, 2007 09:27 AM

A coworker and I had looked at it and were trying to figure it out. And when I described it to another coworker we figured it out! thanks to [23]. But I figured out the last picture first. That made it easier.

  40. FileStrawberrycmabratte on Nov 30, 2007 10:34 AM

i am stuck on the last part, i am pretty sure i have the first two pictures figured out, but have no idea what to make of the last one.

  41. FileKiwiSwanny on Nov 30, 2007 10:55 AM

Ahrgh...typing spaces into a tanga puzzle solution makes me feel dirty.

  42. FileStrawberrycmabratte on Nov 30, 2007 11:47 AM

oh i got it, i didnt know that was a real phrase.

  43. FileBananaethnosax on Nov 30, 2007 01:11 PM

Not really fond of how the first word works. I mean--that first image doesn't give the sound and really doesn't give the spelling, given what you have to use the second image for. :( There was a light switch in a puzzle recently that I think would've been better.

  44. FilePepperChupper on Nov 30, 2007 01:22 PM

I'm surprised people had so much trouble with this one, usually I'm the straggler desperately trying to figure out a solve method for puzzles rated 1.5 stars on difficulty, but I saw this one immediately. So a pleasant change for me. Plus, I think today was the first time I've ever solved all the daily puzzles without any salt.

  45. FileSailboatcmg528 on Nov 30, 2007 01:50 PM

Thanks ethnosax! I was soo stumped until you posted, and I agree the other object would have been better

  46. FilePotatorevchewie on Nov 30, 2007 04:29 PM

It would've been more accurate if the first picture had a leather strop instead of a sharpening stone, IMHO.

  47. FileRocketxandryyte on Nov 30, 2007 05:05 PM

    ...sigh... I still can't get it :(

  48. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Apr 02, 2008 04:50 AM
