You solved this puzzle in 1 minute and 20 seconds and were the 4th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 107 points for solving this.

    I'll take it!

Got the numbers but I don't see that many letters.

  3. Avatar_profileGrapeswarbanner on Nov 29, 2007 07:05 PM

You solved this puzzle in 2 minutes and 3 seconds and were the 19th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 92 points for solving this.

Hm, some kind of new bonus system? One point less for each new solver, perhaps?

  4. FileApplegilby123 on Nov 29, 2007 07:32 PM

Hmmm...tooks a few extra minutes on that one because I couldn't figure out what to do with my info and then I just thought, "What would Yosemite Sam do?"

  5. Avatar_profileAppletravelocity on Nov 29, 2007 07:43 PM

I had to guess on the magic number, but the rest was fairly simple... Less than five minutes!

[4] Shoot everything and have a drink?

[2] With you there. Trying to figure out what to do with the numbers now...

    Yes.

I thought this was posted somewhere, but maybe they didn't...

Each Tanga puzzle is now worth 10 points, plus a BONUS for the first 100 solvers. 100 extra points for the first, then 99 for the second, then 98, 97, 96 etc.

Was thinking too hard on this one. Tanga Tanga Tang-a!

  11. FileStrawberryronster0 on Nov 29, 2007 09:36 PM

I have the numbers, but why can't I see what to do with them?

    edit.... got it.

  12. Dave5Grapessaintomer on Nov 29, 2007 11:01 PM

I thought this was supposed to be 'easy'. Anything but.

edit - got it, but I still think that it was terribly convoluted for an 'easy' puzzle.

    Good night.

  13. Thunk_logo_colorPotatofachanlahd on Nov 30, 2007 05:01 AM

    That was fun!

Keep in mind who's askin' dem der darn pesky questions...

  14. FileAppleLegomancer on Nov 30, 2007 05:03 AM

I found it pretty easy. I guess I'm just the rootinest-tootinest puzzle solver north, south, east, aaaaaaaaaand west of the Pecos.

  15. FileTomatoMurdoctor on Nov 30, 2007 06:08 AM

[12] I was a little surprised that it was chosen as an "Easy" puzzle, as I would consider it a little harder than what has typically been used for Easy puzzles in the past... but now that we have the "Cryptopix" category for the simple rebus-type puzzles, I expect that we'll see the challenge level on the Easy puzzles go up a bit to fall somewhere in between. And that's fine with me, since this category then becomes more of a "real" warm-up for the Hard puzzles.

  16. Avatar_profileWatermelonryanchip on Nov 30, 2007 07:38 AM

Totally stumped. Have all the numbers, but I don't know what in the (*&^%^& Yosemite Sam would do with them.

  17. Avatar_profileOrangemr_sad on Nov 30, 2007 09:02 AM

I am still having trouble with what to do with numbers. I tried using them on the words and Sam's speech and the alphabet. I must be missing something.

EDIT: Got it. I had miscounted my numbers on one of the words

  18. FileStrawberryschmucklehead on Nov 30, 2007 08:50 AM

Finally sort of getting the hang of how murdoctor sets them up. If you get all of the digits you should be able to solve.

  19. FilePlumsjlee on Nov 30, 2007 09:35 AM

[16] Same with me. If only one of the people who were stuck like us and solved it would kindly lend us their shaker...

  20. FilePlumsjlee on Nov 30, 2007 09:39 AM

I got it. The trick is to take the numbers and reapply.

  21. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Nov 30, 2007 09:47 AM

[19] I think someone used the salt 'introvert' a day or so ago when it came to numbers.

  22. FileGrapesaux_con on Nov 30, 2007 09:58 AM

Hrm... took me a while to figure out where to apply my numbers. Must be getting rusty.

  23. Avatar_profilePeachfaerychild on Nov 30, 2007 11:23 AM

For those of us who are pretty new to these puzzles, can anyone give a bit more guidance on what to do with the numbers? Thanks!

  24. Avatar_profileCarrotanubis3654 on Nov 30, 2007 11:30 AM

I solved it but I'm not sure what it had to do with Yosemite Sam.

  25. FileBananatheChony on Nov 30, 2007 11:57 AM

    [23] You'll want to turn numbers into letters. 1 -> A, 2-> B...

  26. Avatar_profilePeachfaerychild on Nov 30, 2007 12:44 PM

[25] Yep, I got that far, and tried anagrams of my letters, but came up with nothing. Is there something I should be doing other than finding anagrams?

  27. FileTomatoMurdoctor on Nov 30, 2007 12:46 PM

[19] That was me, and the word was "introspection". That was on my own puzzle yesterday, which used a similar mechanic for extracting letters to form the answer word.

[25] 1->A, 2->B... would be if you were using the alphabet to "turn numbers into letters". In some puzzles, you use the alphabet like that... but in other puzzles (such as this one), you use the numbers to extract letters from another source given in or clued by the puzzle (otherwise known as the "key").

  28. FileDuckieescKey on Nov 30, 2007 01:10 PM

That was cool! Easy but it must have been interesting trying to make that puzzle work.

  29. FilePumpkinJohn on Nov 30, 2007 01:34 PM

    What in tarnation?

  30. Avatar_profilePeachdave619 on Nov 30, 2007 03:37 PM

Salt: numbers to letters, Sam said

  31. FilePeartimotab on Nov 30, 2007 04:51 PM

*sigh* still confused as to what to do with the numbers.

  32. FilePeartelliott on Nov 30, 2007 05:30 PM

Yeah, I have the numbers, but when I plug them into the alphabet or what sams saying, I still can't make heads or tails of it. I lose.

  33. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Nov 30, 2007 05:32 PM

[32] What else is there that you could plug them into?

  34. FilePeartelliott on Nov 30, 2007 05:47 PM

Thanks Princess! i finally got it due to your clue. But if that is considered easy, I'm in for a heap of learning!

  35. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Nov 30, 2007 05:50 PM

[34] It takes a bit of patience, but you'll pick up the tricks pretty fast as you get more practice with the puzzle format here. I had nooo clue what was going on for my first 15 or so puzzles, then it came a bit more naturally after that.

  36. FilePeartimotab on Nov 30, 2007 05:55 PM

I still can't think what to plug them into. seriously. :(

  37. FileEggplantjtotheh on Nov 30, 2007 06:02 PM

[36] How many numbers do you have?

  38. FilePeartimotab on Nov 30, 2007 06:16 PM

    seven numbers, eight digits.

  39. FileGrapeskabibi on Nov 30, 2007 06:40 PM

that is a word???? Never used that one before.

  40. FilePeartimotab on Nov 30, 2007 08:29 PM

    bingo.
