  2. Avatar_profileAppletravelocity on Dec 03, 2007 07:03 PM

You solved this puzzle in 1 minute and 9 seconds and were the 16th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 92 points for solving this.

First top twenty!!! Might have been to the top ten, but a typo.

  3. Avatar_profilePeachmklass on Dec 03, 2007 07:04 PM

  4. FilePepperVerve640 on Dec 03, 2007 07:08 PM

  5. SouthparkPepperTahnan on Dec 03, 2007 07:07 PM

    Wow, what a lovely find!

  6. Avatar_profileGrapesstephenrapaport on Dec 03, 2007 07:08 PM

yeah that was REALLY easy even for me and I really do suck... first non-salt ever

  7. FileEggplantjtotheh on Dec 03, 2007 07:10 PM

    Oh.

  8. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Dec 03, 2007 07:12 PM

You solved this puzzle in 33 seconds and were the 88th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.

Should've got here sooner. I also thought that one got more points if they were in the top 100

  9. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Dec 03, 2007 07:21 PM

    Still no a-ha. :(

EDIT: Houston, we have a-ha. :)

  10. FileBananarissa2sassy on Dec 03, 2007 07:22 PM

Is the answer an actual number?

  11. Avatar_profileBananaspurs13 on Dec 03, 2007 07:40 PM

I must be really dense. I'm not making any connections to anything

  12. FileBananarissa2sassy on Dec 03, 2007 07:43 PM

[11] Don't feel bad no connections for me either

  13. Avatar_profilePlumevarie on Dec 03, 2007 07:44 PM

    very neat...

  14. FilePeachdcmacphee on Dec 03, 2007 07:44 PM

    cheese dog

  15. FileBananarissa2sassy on Dec 03, 2007 07:47 PM

[14] Cheese dog? is that really salt?

  16. FileAppledyllan on Dec 03, 2007 07:54 PM

[15] No, it's not a salt. Or if it is, it doesn't make any sense to me, and I got the answer.

  17. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Dec 03, 2007 07:58 PM

    [10] no- it's not a number.

  18. Avatar_profilePeachumfpt on Dec 03, 2007 08:15 PM

Wow! That was easy. All the time I was working it out I was thinking no way is this going to lead to the correct answer.

  19. Ag1Potatojeep on Dec 03, 2007 08:20 PM

It's a whole lot easier if you know your alphabet... I knew exactly how to do it, didn't get a word, beat my head against a wall. Came back to it and finally saw my error.

    -JEEP

  20. FileBananarissa2sassy on Dec 03, 2007 08:22 PM

Glad some are finding this so easy

  21. FileBananarissa2sassy on Dec 03, 2007 08:27 PM

[19] Thanks for the great salt! I finally solved it

  22. FileSailboattrumanj on Dec 03, 2007 08:38 PM

[19] lol i did the same thing...went back and saw i had 1 letter off...

  23. Avatar_profilePeachhershb007 on Dec 03, 2007 09:32 PM

If your word doesn't make sense you forgot the second step

  24. FileRocketPhantaCComics on Dec 03, 2007 09:42 PM

argh, I knew the method and knew my alphabet but I left out one character. *smacks head* That cost me about 10 minutes.

  25. Avatar_profileStrawberryEuler on Dec 03, 2007 10:44 PM

Wow... that was pretty easy for a hard one

Good answer to go with the second part though.

  26. FilePotatorevchewie on Dec 03, 2007 11:57 PM

Is it just me or was that *way* easier than tonight's "easy"?

  27. FileKiwiDullorb on Dec 04, 2007 12:55 AM

    not just you [26]
I've already given up on the easy

  28. Avatar_profileAceGertSoB on Dec 04, 2007 05:29 AM

[27]: Whereas I got the easy one in 33 seconds, and the hypercross took me maybe 2 minutes (I was disappointed, there was nothing cryptic about it, no puzzle to solve, no "aha", just recognise the animals and type in their names), the cryptopix took a few minutes of looking for pictures of the fish, but this one I have no clue at all. I tried tripling the number and then converting it into letters, using the letters from "triple your fun", using the letters from "hard one word wonder", using a caesar shift, nothing.

  29. FileTomatoMurdoctor on Dec 04, 2007 06:01 AM

[28] You are SO close with the first thing you tried.

  30. Avatar_profileAceGertSoB on Dec 04, 2007 06:09 AM

Ohhhh! Thank you [29]. It's frustrating to realise just how close I was, before I went off on all sorts of strange paths.

I solved this puzzle in 9 hours, 31 minutes and 44 seconds and were the 417th Tanga member to solve it, but I was 90% of the way there in about 30 seconds!

  31. FilePlumgene613 on Dec 04, 2007 08:34 AM

Wow, this was easier than the easy one... and very true too!

  32. FileAppleFez on Dec 04, 2007 08:46 AM

[23] was the salt that did it for me. Thanks.

  33. FilePepperChupper on Dec 04, 2007 08:47 AM

It's kind of pathetic that the only letter I got wrong came from mis-tripling "1" into the letter b.

  34. FileStrawberrymithra on Dec 04, 2007 09:22 AM

Nice and easy, even for me that speaks spanish.

  35. Avatar_profilePear898 on Dec 04, 2007 09:30 AM

popoopie I did the same thing but tripled it into an A.
PS what type of html formatting does tanga 2.0 use?

  36. Avatar_profilePearanglotiger on Dec 04, 2007 11:42 AM

Nine seconds? Come on... this was supposed to be hard.

  37. FileBananaCBDroege on Dec 04, 2007 12:31 PM

Well, something is broken in my brain because I've been looking at this puzzle for 8 hours, and I still don't know what to do.

  38. FilePlumsjlee on Dec 04, 2007 01:48 PM

    This was hard?!

  39. FilePlumsjlee on Dec 04, 2007 01:49 PM

[37] The key word in the puzzle is "triple". Just apply that and use the standard Tanga method for solving.

  40. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Dec 04, 2007 02:25 PM

I liked the first way I tried it better, less obvious and yielded a much better word: GIFBIC

  41. FileRocketokmaybenot on Dec 04, 2007 02:28 PM

When I remember that 6*3 does not equal 24, I'll be feeling much better.. Cute, easy puzzle.

  42. FileBananaCBDroege on Dec 04, 2007 03:02 PM

39, I guess that's what's broken in my brain.... I have no idea what you mean by "standard tanga method" :P :)

  43. FileTomatoMurdoctor on Dec 04, 2007 03:26 PM

[42] The "Standard Tanga Method" is the conversion of numbers into letters, either by using them as an index into the alphabet (1=A, 2=B, etc.), or as an index into some other set of letters (such as a given word or phrase, or set of words/phrases clued by the puzzle).

  44. FileAppleReverendVader on Dec 04, 2007 03:50 PM

You solved this puzzle in 4 minutes and 59 seconds and were the 666th Tanga member to solve it.

    (!)

  45. FileBananaCBDroege on Dec 04, 2007 04:19 PM

Well, that's not 'tanga' method, that's just a standard alphanumeric replacement crypto. That's what I was trying to do, but I'm missing something still that's giving me a serious block.

  46. FileBananaCBDroege on Dec 04, 2007 04:21 PM

I figured it out, finally... I decided to start over from scratch, and I got it in less than a minute. Looking back at the post-it note I had been working on: it was my own hand-writing that twarted me, all day long! >:( :P :) ;D

    Could this be a record?
