So when did they drop Cryptopix to 3 points? Rhetorical question since obviously the answer is "tonight". Why, though?

  2. FileSailboatcmg528 on Thu Jan 17, 2008 07:44 PM

the puzzles were mixed up earlier

  3. FilePotatorevchewie on Thu Jan 17, 2008 07:45 PM

So were the points. Just looked at the points I got for solving this...

  4. FilePotatogoingboeing on Thu Jan 17, 2008 07:49 PM

Something was wrong tonight, because this puzzle still wasn't showing up on the Daily Fun frontpage when I found it in the "see all". I solved it in 27 seconds and was a measly 96th. I guess everyone else knew better than me where it was hiding. hmph

my fault, due to software change it wa published but not featured

what that means will soon be clear...

  6. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Thu Jan 17, 2008 07:50 PM

    127th. Not too bad.

  7. FileBananamanowarplayer on Thu Jan 17, 2008 07:51 PM

Ok... this puzzle JUST came up at 7:45 west coast time. Ive been sitting here for 46 minutes I caught it JUST as it came up, took me 18 seconds to answer and I was the 121st???

No way. How long was this up for before we on the west coast saw it?

  8. FileSailboattrumanj on Thu Jan 17, 2008 08:00 PM

[5] would that be why we're missing the bottom feeder?

  9. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Thu Jan 17, 2008 08:12 PM

[7] The puzzle was PUBLISHED at 7, like normal... but it was not FEATURED on the Front Page until 7:45 (after I e-mailed Aaron :)).

This is part of a new set-up for another improvement coming soon (?) to the Tanga puzzles and how they're going to be available.

FWIW, no one got any bonus points for this one tonight.

  10. FileSailboattrumanj on Thu Jan 17, 2008 08:17 PM

    [9] are you sure?

You solved this puzzle in 22 minutes and 38 seconds and were the 83rd Tanga member to solve it. You earned 17 points for solving this.

  11. FileWatermelonFuzzie_Fuzz on Thu Jan 17, 2008 08:47 PM

Um... salt please? I've got "RockServeStir," which is obviously not right.

  12. FileBananatheChony on Thu Jan 17, 2008 08:51 PM

    [11] Take another shot.

  14. Avatar_profileStrawberrytwinim on Thu Jan 17, 2008 08:54 PM

Thanks [11] and [12] that was the clue I needed.

  15. FilePotatorevchewie on Thu Jan 17, 2008 09:19 PM

    [9] What [10] said...

You solved this puzzle in 13 seconds and were the 91st Tanga member to solve it. You earned 9 points for solving this.

Not sure how it was calculated, but it looks as though I got 6 bonus points on a 3 point puzzle.

  16. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Thu Jan 17, 2008 09:19 PM

[10] LOL, I'm not sure about anything here, anymore :) Looks like you did get the bonus points (as did others), which is good, since you were supposed to tonight, but also bad, since you weren't supposed to get them for non-featured puzzles :)

Ah, the ongoing experiment that is Tanga.

I do know this, though: past unsolved (by you) puzzles should now be worth 3 TP instead of 1. In case anyone's interested.

    For the record, mine said:

  19. FileRocketokmaybenot on Fri Jan 18, 2008 01:51 AM

I always start my puzzle viewing from the archive page instead of the daily fun page.

    http://tanga.com/daily-fun/archive

all of the puzzles (featured or not) show up there when they are published.

  21. FileStrawberryschmucklehead on Fri Jan 18, 2008 06:43 AM

[11] and [12]'s correction help. [11] might be too salty.

  22. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Jan 18, 2008 07:03 AM

    FWIW:
