Awesome!! Like this one alot! =-]
**You solved this puzzle in 28 seconds and were the 9th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 98 points for solving this.
Well, it's not literate
It isn't? Are you sure?
You solved this puzzle in 18 seconds and were the 38th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 67 points for solving this.
this was mentioned about a week ago on a different puzzle, or else i wouldn't have gotten it
Woooooo.... 3rd :) I think he meant 'literal'?
Another top 100! 47th. Very clever, but then again, I got it, so it is simple.
[4] any hints as to which puzzle that was? :)
hmmm... something i'm missing... salt, anyone?
hmmm... something i'm missing... salt, anyone?
Well, now that I got it...
good one arnott!
[8] I'm with you...tonight is not my night with the puzzles...I don't have a clue on any of them.
Why isn't it blueprint?
Groan. ;^) (Both to [13] and the answer.)
I wish I could groan at 13, but like him, that's the answer that seems to pop out at me.
And naturally, the second I posted that, the answer came to me.
"L""M" in 8 -> eliminate? ... nope. (Hope that's not salty, I'm totally lost.)
Only 4 more bonus slots. I think I'll call it a night.
I'm lost in a sea of blue on this one as well.
[17] Spam, that's not salty... but your general thinking is correct.
The puzzle is just the letters, not the background. Though, of course, the background does relate to the answer.
Yay! My first top 100! And just barely too. *You solved this puzzle in 55 seconds and were the 99th Tanga member to solve it.* Too bad I only got 10 points for it, but that's ok!
I missed being in the top 100...ended up 114.
of course, it would have helped if I hadn't been trying to solve the 'R Knot' in the corner as well...
Huh, I was closer than I thought with [19]
at first i thought the answer was gp...or jeep
Well, I'm lost and I thought "entropy" would have been a nice answer
[24] Yeah :) I noticed that, of course, but didn't wanna say anything... yet.
I got it, but I really don't know how...
NICE. I dig it.
I can't believe im still stumped
me too - any other salt?
silly me thought the "R" at the bottom was part of the puzzle, but still no answer.
[32] Without naming all of them, what letters are listed there?
[33] Aaaaargh. That did it. I'm so dense my specific gravity is WAY over 1.0.
[34] Thanks - your comments and [33]'s finally got it for me. It was a very nice puzzle, arnott, i'm just really slow tonight.
Very cute!
thanks [32] [33] interesting... found the same puzzle on another site...
You're a life-saver, [33]! Clever puzzle and signature, Arnott.
Salt. Could be, lots of it. Or not. :-)
I nominate [34] for salt of the week.
[33] Thanks for confusing me even more! :-)
[34] OK, so I had to look up how SG worked (it always makes me think of beer), so at least I know which way to go w.r.t. the blue background, but I am still not getting anywhere.
[34] Ahhh, I read a bit too much into your salt. I was thinking the answer was something really dense, not you. Well, I guess I am even more dense!
is 'hijack a limo' on the right track?
Edit: ohhhh, i get it now. thanks!
[43] No. It's more like those puzzles where you take the letters literally, like TFARD = Backdraft, or sailing/CCCCCCC = sailing over the seven seas.
more salt...new way to look at it???
Okay, this idea of mine didn't work, nor is it a single word. I don't think posting it will be salty in the least...
...but at first blush, I thought it was "Hawaii Five-O" (laughs)
please help going crazy
Ok, I grokked this one pretty fast.
[47] I can't think of a better clue than [33], although [34] has an interesting term which you might want to investigate.
Deleted. *Too* salty.
a very clever one
You solved this puzzle in 1 hour, 38 minutes and 22 seconds and were the 300th Tanga member to solve it. Go 300! I would like to say that it didn't really take me an hour to finish this, I was away from my computer
I randomly guessed the puzzle while just trying out words and then it took me a minute to figure out WHY that was the answer.
great fun. I just got here and enjoyed this aha a lot
Arrrggghhhh, I kept trying to come with an answer thinking the clue had something to do with g & p. Man, when I get an idea in my head I just can't move on easily. 4 hrs, 23 minutes, and 10 seconds to solve.
Very clever! I liked this one a lot!!!
SALT PLEASE!
that was very clever, thanks to #33 for helping me figure that out.
Odd, says I was 91st to solve, but I got no bonus points. Same thing happened on the Cryptopix, 87th to solve but no bonus. Yet I got the bonus for top 100 on the Hypercross and Hard One Word Wonder... Weird new Tanga bug I guess...
DAMN that took me too long, but my first puzzle, W00t!
clever
[58] It isn't a new thing; it's been happening to me pretty much every time I get within the top 100 - either get no bonus points or the wrong amount. Don't know why. I sent in a couple of Tangagrams, but never heard back. Go check your points summary though; I did find that it included at least some of the points I thought I missed.
In some cases, when I solved the puzzle, it told me only the bonus points I received, but the summary included a separate line item for the normal 10 points. However, I solved a puzzle earlier this week within the top 100 and never did get any bonus points, while in another case, I did get them. It seems to have no rhyme nor reason as to how many points you get. I guess they are still working out the bugs. In any case, I am definitely getting more points than I was before the relaunch!
[61] ..but are the points worth anything now?
Clever... Quite clever
Hooray! The first OWW I've solved without scrolling down. After getting it, I have to say that [33] really -is- the best clue. Don't get wrapped up in the rest of the salt. Just take it literal.
Oh, and pay no attention to the background. It will only make sense after you have the answer.
boy, that took entirely too long. Thought it was middleweight, then [34] made me try heavyweight (for no reason other than that I am a tool). I need to stop counting so much.
how could the answer not be 'pee'
[7] It was mentioned in the blog for my recent "connect-the-dots" puzzle. The letters in this puzzle are the same ones that made up the castle door (for the most part).
Ugh, this is a very old riddle. Don't know why I didn't recognize it immediately.
[66] I seriously tried both "pea" and "pee" as a couple of my initial guesses!
[62] Well, they'll get you Super Tanga User status after 5000 points (with special benefits) and it sounds like they are working on other rewards, so I think they will be worth "something."
anyone else still not getting it. can someone help does [33] talk about letters listed in the bottom or the letters in the middle of the picture?
[71] There are no letterS listed in the bottom... only letters in the middle of the picture. The letter in the bottom right is Arnott's signature... get it? A knot in the shape of an R.
To add more seasoning to [33]... this puzzle reminds me of voter registration tables.
one of the best puzzles I've seen on here. Very clever and simple. The aha moment made me feel real stupid. You solved this puzzle in 7 minutes and 2 seconds.
Thanks [33] and Grats Arnott
AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGJJHHHHHHHH. I can't believe it took me this long to get the answer. I need a drink.
Ow my inner geek just kicked my A$$ for taking so long on that one.
Getting from one to the other... argh. Took me long enough, and thanks to [33].
Thank you [74], and the other posts like it :)
