  19. FileEggplantHackmaster12 on Jan 20, 2007 07:07 PM

    Nope. Can't see any puzzle.

    "Broken" isn't the answer.

  20. Avatar_profileStrawberryJet082 on Jan 20, 2007 07:08 PM

Maybe the puzzle is the broken link...

  26. FileAppleTWhitsett on Jan 20, 2007 07:10 PM

[18] I absolutely feel dirty as well. But, after that last puzzle of the puzzlethon, I feel like getting a little dirty is warranted.

  27. Avatar_profileGarlicmagicode on Jan 20, 2007 07:10 PM

Doesn't apply anymore since puzzle has been put restored (like the new filename though :))

  28. Avatar_profileWatermelonnvzblity on Jan 20, 2007 07:10 PM

EDIT: Link no longer needed since the image has been fixed.

  29. FilePotatobradman on Jan 20, 2007 07:10 PM

jeez, i had no clue looking at the image (using Safari on the Mac). The hint that you could solve it without seeing it worked though. Not a single clue how to get that from the real image yet, however.

  30. Avatar_profileKiwibunnymama on Jan 20, 2007 07:11 PM

Yes. I was 4th, and I still haven't seen the puzzle.

  31. FileAppleTWhitsett on Jan 20, 2007 07:11 PM

Okay, now that the link has been posted, I don't feel as dirty... I solved it that way, too.

No, really, I still feel dirty.

  32. Avatar_profileStrawberryJet082 on Jan 20, 2007 07:11 PM

Hey... too much salt... that's not cool.

  33. FilePeachbigdaddytr on Jan 20, 2007 07:12 PM

    That is freakin' hilarious!

    TR

  34. Avatar_profileStrawberryKentuckyKid on Jan 20, 2007 07:12 PM

Funny. I got it the "right" way from the image (thanks techgirl). But now I see...

  35. Avatar_profilePearmundane on Jan 20, 2007 07:12 PM

    Thanks [25] and [27]!

  36. Avatar_profileKiwibunnymama on Jan 20, 2007 07:13 PM

magicode, that is way too much salt. You really should edit that comment.

  37. Phi3CornPhilana on Jan 20, 2007 07:13 PM

Now that I've seen the image, I realize it's a clever puzzle.

  38. Avatar_profileGrapesraymulford on Jan 20, 2007 07:14 PM

Guess this just ain't my day *sigh*

  39. Avatar_profileStrawberryJet082 on Jan 20, 2007 07:15 PM

You worked so hard on the puzzle too... ah well, you had a couple fun ones in the puzzlethon.

  40. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Jan 20, 2007 07:15 PM

    okay, now to backsolve....!???

  41. Avatar_profileLemonMontanaDun on Jan 20, 2007 07:16 PM

Well - dirty girl too - solved but not solved.

  42. FilePumpkinJohn on Jan 20, 2007 07:17 PM

That's too bad. Puzzle was quite clever.

  43. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Jan 20, 2007 07:17 PM

    Groan - visual pun

  44. FileEggplantHackmaster12 on Jan 20, 2007 07:18 PM

Very clever. I got it from the picture that wasposted, because I didn't even think to look at the [dirty clue]

  49. Avatar_profileOrangejswheeler on Jan 20, 2007 07:27 PM

  50. FileBananarenfurdson (Tanga Admin) on Jan 20, 2007 07:28 PM

OOPS. The puzzle is there now.

    You are welcome.

You people say theres too much salt but i dont see any

  54. Avatar_profileWatermelonweirdo on Jan 20, 2007 08:04 PM

i'm with you [53]. i assume it has to do with the massively repeated word in this blog, but that didn't give me anything. and i've tried putting in every form of capital punishment i could think of and that got me nowhere. and i tried thinking outside the box and that didn't work. any hints? counted and nothing.

  55. Avatar_profileGarlicmagicode on Jan 20, 2007 08:05 PM

There's some salt in [46]; the reference to too much salt was before they fixed the puzzle.

  56. Avatar_profileAcehighfloydelity on Jan 20, 2007 08:20 PM

well its not tennis... or chevy s-10.. any more hints?

  57. Avatar_profileWatermelonweirdo on Jan 20, 2007 08:27 PM

ok i got the first step.
    google gives me nothing.

  58. Avatar_profilePeachJuicer on Jan 20, 2007 08:30 PM

That did it for me.. hfd, you are getting close

  59. Avatar_profileWatermelonweirdo on Jan 20, 2007 08:31 PM

so i got it but it was pure luck.
could someone please tell me how they got the answer without even seeing the picture? I would think you would at least need to see the title or something!

  60. Avatar_profileStrawberrygypsychk on Jan 20, 2007 08:35 PM

[56] highfloydelity: You're 2/3 there ... just need to take the big-picture shape into consideration.

  61. FileDuckiedavey3 on Jan 20, 2007 08:35 PM

You have already solved this puzzle.
It took you 12 minutes and 33 seconds.
You are the 124th fastest Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
You were the 163rd Tanga member to solve this puzzle.

    [46] definitely helped ... thanks!

  62. Avatar_profileOrangeRussish on Jan 20, 2007 08:53 PM

Okay, this is killing me. Does the "Capital Punishment?!?" have anything to do with the answer, or is that just a clever title? I understand the state the letters are in, but no variation on that has been the correct answer.

  63. Avatar_profileAcehighfloydelity on Jan 20, 2007 08:55 PM

Well... I got the obvious answer, but...

    nevermind.. got it.. ouch

  64. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Jan 20, 2007 09:01 PM

    [62] Russish
Yes the title is very important to solving the puzzle, but you don't have to die to solve it.

  65. Avatar_profileAcehighfloydelity on Jan 20, 2007 09:08 PM

still don't know what 'dirty' has to do with anything... and how in the hell could someone solve without the puzzle? just guess random words until one works?

  66. FilePumpkinJohn on Jan 20, 2007 09:09 PM

I think it's "PUN"ishment. And the other word is useful too.

  67. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Jan 20, 2007 09:10 PM

    [65] highfloydelity
when the puzzle was first posted, it didn't show up as a picture, but as a filename. The answer was part of the filename.

  68. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Jan 20, 2007 09:11 PM

    [66] John
yes! I couldn't figure just what to say there!

  69. Avatar_profileOrangeRussish on Jan 20, 2007 09:19 PM

Ugh. Finally got it. I thought of that possibility really early on, but immediately dismissed it without trying it because I had reversed a couple of key definitions of some similar words, if'n you know what I mean.

  70. FilePepperdajagr on Jan 21, 2007 02:23 AM

Wow. I didn't mean to sound cheeky when I said I got it! I just assumed that since I could see it, it meant that they'd fixed it! Apparently, it was just serendipity that I happened to be on from an iMac that was capable of displaying the Photoshop file.

  71. Avatar_profileKiwipmboos on Jan 21, 2007 07:27 AM

that took me longer than it should - but then both my wife and son having been interrupting me the entire time I started.

  72. Avatar_profileOrangedlp on Jan 21, 2007 11:52 AM

Well gosh, that's a long time to leave [2] sitting there with the http://SALT.SALT.SALT.SALT.SALT.SALT.jpg in it.

No wonder people who didn't see the picture solved it faster than the ones who got the picture.

  73. Avatar_profileOrangeSoprano on Jan 21, 2007 02:02 PM

Ray -- that was a real groaner. I loved it!

  74. FractalTomatodduensing on Jun 06, 2010 11:32 AM

Ugh...finally got it after almost a year.

Count the S letters, then add the larger letter and it should give you a one in 50 shot of solving step 1......

Now, after you have that, read the title of the puzzle again, and narrow down the location for the final answer (step 2).

  75. FileGarlicdharmaRN on Jan 04, 2012 09:42 PM

    [74] Glad you posted that. I was frustrated, thinking, "How is this NOT 10- _ _ _ _ _ ?
