You solved this puzzle in 35 seconds and were the 2nd Tanga member to solve it. You earned 109 points for solving this.
How did i DO that?
First in 40 seconds. Didn't understand it all, but understood enough.
Oh, very nice... finally, a puzzle I could get an aha! moment on.
Yay first three letters and then a guess!
You solved this puzzle in 4 minutes and 37 seconds and were the 10th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 101 points for solving this.
It's my second top 10.
A pinch of salt?
16th. Coulda done better if I hadn't given up on my original line of thought too quickly.
9th, I wanted to make the top 5...would have settled for sixth
I love aha moments. 2 letters and plug in the first word that comes to mind when reading the story.
i'm kind of lost
Yay! They posted my puzzle! That was quick. Makes me want to make another one.
Edit: Based on the comments below, it looks like more hints are needed at the solving methods in the puzzles. I'll work on that.
The beginning throws you off cuz you're not clued to use it. I guessed it and then saw the answer.
[8] I just read the story and guessed.
I got it but cant figure out how I got it
I got it but I know I didn't actually do it right. It was partially a guess, slightly educated but mostly a flat out guess.
You solved this puzzle in 2 minutes and 34 seconds and were the 3rd Tanga member to solve it. You earned 108 points for solving this.
2nd top 10 for me tonight. Not bad for 4 days on the board. :)
Yeah, I had an idea, had the first couple letters and guessed the rest.
Remember that each step you take towards solving this gets you closer to the answer.
Any salt on how to solve this?
I tried 'solving' it, came up with two wrong answers, then just typed the thought that popped into my head when I first saw the puzzle and got it right. I have no idea how you solve for this answer...
Once you figure out where to start, then start stepping down the answer. The steps get smaller as you get closer to the end
[5] [9] [16] "Six steps", but where to apply them?
I never got an aha moment. Took [11]'s comment about guessing and started plugging in every word I could think of that might apply to the story until something popped up "Congratulations". Then stared at the whole puzzle, trying things, until I could see where the answer might possibly be figured out "logically" to backsolve.
Backsolving was MUCH easier.
I tried several ways to solve the puzzle, then tried just plugging in what I assume are relevant guesses, but its getting me nowhere.
You solved this puzzle in 8 seconds and were the 12th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 99 points for solving this.
But I didn't really feel I earned them until [19] and [20] helped me understand the logic of it.
First word I guessed and I see it backsolved. Interesting puzzle. Thanks for the salt, [15] and [18].
Guessed the word and then it took me a bit to figure out how to backsolve it.
I guessed it after trying things for a while. Not-so-sure what I was supposed to do to figure it out yet though. Duh.
I think I need a different kind of puzzle, I haven't a clue. :o(
i am so utterly hopeless on this one! with all the salt, i still have no idea where to start.
Ok, I have the answer, guessed it. I studied the puzzle, and I believe I backsolved it. Could someone send me a message so I can figure out if I figured out the right solution or not, because the solution I have seems so obscure that it can't possibly be the correct way.
After reading all the comments above, I was able to solve it by guessing, and now I can backsolve it, but I still don't see how I could have solved it directly.
Hmm, I guessed and got it, but I have no idea how.
[15] That is some of the best salt!!
So...the way to get this puzzle is by guessing?
Great...
that dwarf is so evil, he might have a mark upon him...
EDIT: nvm
I got the answer by guessing but I'm not sure I see how to get it by solving the puzzle.
no flippin' clue, but guessed and got it.
HARD one! I guessed, too. Got it right on the 10th guess. I can see now where the steps apply, but I had to backsolve.
I'm amused. I had the right solve method but applied it in the wrong direction and got gibberish. Made a guess and got it right! Can't believe how close I was to actually solving it on my first try.
Wow...first time to solve a hard one without help. :) Kind of a little easy for being a hard puzzle...but whatever.
EDIT: Oh wow and having reread the puzzle I now see how one is supposed to get the answer. Cool.
Still no clue... oh well.
Any salt with reference to the source of the evil dwarf? I must not know my fairy tales very well.
[42], the evil dwarf's name is made up for purposes of this puzzle. I really like the solve-method of this puzzle, in hindsight. The best salts are [15] and [18].. good luck!
had the solve method right the first time.... just miscounted the steps in my first effort and threw myself off the trail!
Can anyone give salt on where to start, or how to approach this one?? Its great that [15] and [18] are salt, but if you don't already know the answer they sound like vague philosophies...
Okay, finally guessed it. After about 20 different things. I went back to my original method and tried to backsolve... and still don't see how you get it. I get 4 letters that are in the word (not in order), but if I continue with the method, the letters are useless... which explains my confusion... I'll have to see the actual method to solving this, I don't see it.
sorry, don't get this one. is the answer contained in the elf's name by counting down?
OK I get it now... using the "steps" as [15] suggested (although that's not how I would word it)
[47] it is but I couldn't tell you how you're supposed to find it.
[47] & [49] maybe think of the steps as sections instead.
huh?
Huh... I put the answer down but it did'nt take it. Maybe I used a weird ending before (I was guessing). Would have never gotten it otherwise.
