I was wondering how they would handle the new rewards system. Creators cannot score for their own puzzles now. Have fun and Merry CHRISTmas everybody!

  2. FileGrapesStexe on Dec 24, 2007 07:12 PM

Why the capitalization of CHRISTmas? Is that a clue or what?

You solved this puzzle in 7 minutes and 27 seconds and were the 9th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 101 points for solving this.

This was a cool elpuzz. Thanks, Scrabble, for training me.

    Nice.

[1] Creators can still answer right away, though... and while you get 0 points for doing so, you DO take away a bonus slot from everyone else :(

  6. FileRocketBearcat89 on Dec 24, 2007 07:21 PM

[5] Oops. Sorry for snagging somebody's points.
[2] Not a clue, just a celebration of MY faith. Ignore it if you choose to.

    9th, 5th, 3rd, and 2nd.... a good night :)

For this puzzle, thanks for making some of the letters obvious. :)

Huh... I thought I had it (I know how to solve it) but I'm missing something... is the number refering to the line it is on or is it just a random number where similar letters go but not refering to the order of the questions? (If this makes sense)

  9. FileGrapesStexe on Dec 24, 2007 07:26 PM

[6] Oh well I'll go celebrate a merry X-Mas then :-P (By the way the only reason Christmas is celebrated in the winter is because they wanted to convert pagan worshipers from the winter solstice).

    56th in 26 minutes.

Good puzzle ... enjoy your holiday!

  11. FileApplegilby123 on Dec 24, 2007 07:35 PM

I think the third clue is missing a U, FYI. Still working on it, though, so could be wrong.

  12. FileGarlicHope2002 on Dec 24, 2007 07:39 PM

I think the fourth clue down has a problem as well. I worked around it.

  13. FileRocketBearcat89 on Dec 24, 2007 07:42 PM

[11],[12] Thanks for catching some typos. I have corrected them.

  14. FilePepperpepperhead on Dec 24, 2007 07:48 PM

[9] True but I celebrate it every day! But the kids get lots of gifts on the 25th.

  15. FileDuckieescKey on Dec 24, 2007 08:24 PM

    Fun puzzle.

  16. FilePeachbenjaminlho on Dec 24, 2007 08:51 PM

Fun stuff...Was able to figure it out by the 5th letter in the key below. Never did rearrange the answer for number 10

  17. Avatar_profilePotatocanyc on Dec 24, 2007 09:16 PM

Never descrambed #1 or #8, but was still able to solve the puzzle in 16t minutes. Fun one!

  18. FileAppledyllan on Dec 24, 2007 09:26 PM

Great puzzle. Fun, not too hard. A shame it had to be today's though... I didn't rush to be here at 10:00 - I was watching Christmas movies with the family. I could've gotten some bonus points on this one.

  19. Avatar_profileOrangeasiancowboy on Dec 24, 2007 09:29 PM

Ok, i'm almost CERTAIN i have the answer....but its not letting me answer. I just spent about an hour on this. I'm so mad!

  20. Avatar_profilePeachweasel75 on Dec 24, 2007 09:33 PM

Okay... I've got what I think is the answer but it's not being accepted. Is there another step to take?

  21. Avatar_profileOrangeasiancowboy on Dec 24, 2007 09:37 PM

HA! I'm an idiot! i put the question, and not the ANSWER to the question. That's what I get for playing this when i'm tired. =p

  22. Avatar_profilePeachweasel75 on Dec 24, 2007 09:40 PM

I tried answering with more than one word. Ugh.

  23. Avatar_profileStrawberryEscher0 on Dec 24, 2007 11:26 PM

Unscrambled all but three then realized the question after just a partial first line. Should have beendoing that all along.

  24. FileBananacaptkayoss on Dec 25, 2007 04:46 AM

Solved it, but never figured out what "Nobody is talking about it" referred to.

  25. FileBananacaptkayoss on Dec 25, 2007 04:48 AM

HA! Had to back solve the one clue. Nice :D

  26. FileRocketfizzball on Dec 25, 2007 07:30 AM

90th in 3:55. The hardest bit of this one was the actual answer to the final question -- my initial impulse was...well, the same as Eddie V's.

  27. Avatar_profileAceGertSoB on Dec 25, 2007 12:20 PM

[24] I didn't get that one either, but after I figured out what it must be I googled it and found that it's a movie.

  28. FileGarlick1w1 on Dec 25, 2007 01:59 PM

[9] It isn't winter where I live. Do the planets revolve around you as well?

  29. FileGrapesStexe on Dec 25, 2007 06:10 PM

[28] Uh, yes? I don't see how where you live winter has anything to do with it. The pagan tradition was in the northern hemisphere (much like the christian movement).

Anyway, I think I figured out the puzzle but I gave up trying after I realized how much longer it would take to plug the rest in and decode and then answer the question. I think the "hard" puzzle should be worth 20 points instead of the lowly 10.

  30. 1981709Sailboatjgf on Aug 19, 2008 01:04 AM

Whew, almost 14 minutes. Didn't actually need to decode every clue, just the first line or so.
