    Tough to spell correctly!

  2. FileEggplantjtotheh on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:06 PM

This is tough to spell if you've never seen it written out.

  3. FileBananamanowarplayer on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:08 PM

    Who's that first guy?

  4. Avatar_profileKiwithies on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:14 PM

  5. FileApplemissmellieb on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:17 PM

I've got to be making this too hard. I can't get anything out of the pictures other than maize (or corn).

  6. FileRocketYollege on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:18 PM

  9. FilePumpkincherylo on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:29 PM

Sang that over and over again in girl scouts when I was a kid...I don't know if that was a common thing or just our troop's oddity, though.

  10. FileRaspberrydsmeyer on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:31 PM

[3 and 8] His initials are listed in the photo.

  11. FileKiwiMonkeyArcher on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:37 PM

    good lord.
trying to look it up for corect spelling was somewhat of a waste. I found many many sites with many alternate spellings

  12. FileWatermelonSperry on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:39 PM

Could you not yell; just once? My ears hurt.

    Loved it.

  13. Avatar_profileApplemullen1099 on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:40 PM

got it w/o first pic. However, if you figure that out, it's easy. He shares a name with all of us.

  14. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:42 PM

[10] His initials are my initials too! ;)

... Well, not really, but that's what I'd say.

  15. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:43 PM

Gosh ... I've got that in my head now ....

    dadadadadadada!

  16. FileBananamanowarplayer on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:47 PM

  17. FileBananamanowarplayer on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:50 PM

    10 tries...

  18. FileBananamanowarplayer on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:54 PM

    20 tries...

  19. FileBananamanowarplayer on Fri Jan 04, 2008 07:58 PM

Someone send me the "correct" spelling please. This is ridiculous!!

It's even my name too and I can't get it.

  20. FileEggplantouredman on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:05 PM

  21. Avatar_profileStrawberrybenjro on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:05 PM

  22. FileApplenkpham on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:06 PM

  23. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:07 PM

  24. Avatar_profileStrawberrybenjro on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:07 PM

  25. Water_liliesKiwiuncw05 on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:09 PM

ARGH, I can't spell it right!

  26. FileDuckieescKey on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:12 PM

  27. Avatar_profilePotatolaiernie on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:18 PM

  28. Avatar_profileBananawhitastic on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:19 PM

Thank goodness for google and salt and stuff.

  29. FileEggplantouredman on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:20 PM

Just as corn jingle, I jump pondmitt! LALALALALA DADADADADA

    Doh, still wrong.

  30. FileAppledyllan on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:22 PM

C'mon, it wasn't THAT hard to spell.

Or maybe I'm just good at spelling.

  31. Avatar_profileApplekswitz on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:36 PM

[13] too salty. I wouldn't have gotten it if it weren't for your post.

  32. Avatar_profileWatermelonRatteler50 on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:42 PM

gwaaaa I know it, and went to google for the spelling, but using google's spelling, it is saying I'm wrong!

  33. Avatar_profileWatermelonRatteler50 on Fri Jan 04, 2008 08:44 PM

nix that, I was stupid and thought I was playing One Word Wonder, so used no spaces

  34. Avatar_profileLemonDrSuave on Fri Jan 04, 2008 09:01 PM

some of these comments gave it away... but seriously, i dont see what some of the pics have to do with it

  35. Avatar_profilePeachjimmiebjr on Fri Jan 04, 2008 09:08 PM

Neat! It's been ages since my Boy Scout days.

  36. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Fri Jan 04, 2008 09:17 PM

There he goes again, the spelling is indeed correct at wikipedia

  37. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Fri Jan 04, 2008 09:22 PM

The pole vault thing isn't pole vault apparently... I don't know how it was supposed to fit into the answer...

  38. Avatar_profileKiwitaznjazz on Fri Jan 04, 2008 09:32 PM

This guys last name has too many silent but deadlies. What is that awful shouting? Every single time we get together, I hear that darn shouting! Make it stop, make it stop!

  39. Avatar_profileKiwitaznjazz on Fri Jan 04, 2008 09:36 PM

[37] I didn't get that either, or the bottom middle, although I did notice the bottom middle looks a awful lot like Montana. Please don't confuse my pepper for salt, just a simple useless observation.

I used the top row plus the last picture to get it. On second thought, I don't get the corn either. I got the last two pics on the top row right away, because I just got done doing jewelia's hypercross. From there all I needed was the guy's name and it was a cinch.

  40. FileBananarissa2sassy on Fri Jan 04, 2008 09:45 PM

[37] [38] Is it always called pole vaulting?

  41. Almost-sold-out-product2OnionDrewO on Fri Jan 04, 2008 10:19 PM

[37][40] The event depicted isn't the pole vault. Think of another track and field event that involves jumping.

  42. FileBananamanowarplayer on Sat Jan 05, 2008 12:31 AM

I STILL don't have the correct spelling of this. I've cut and pasted the Wikipedia spelling into the answer space - still doesn't take it.

  43. FilePeppercyncat on Sat Jan 05, 2008 12:49 AM

    [42] I sent you a tangagram.

  44. Sc002a57f6Pumpkinrunart on Sat Jan 05, 2008 03:56 AM

NEVER heard of it. Thank god for Google.

  45. Avatar_profilePeachmaraquin on Sat Jan 05, 2008 06:17 AM

the comments here are waaayy salty. Got the answer even having initially thought it had something to do with the last row of pictures saying "jump on it" - jump pond mitt......yeah...

  46. Avatar_profileGrapesCapnHowdy on Sat Jan 05, 2008 11:11 AM

    ARRRRRGH!

I finally figured it out -- but it won't take any of the MANY different spellings I've entered.

    Bah.

    Keep your measly Tanga points.

  47. Avatar_profileBananaejcarter9 on Sat Jan 05, 2008 11:31 AM

Thanks to salt and google I got it pretty quick. However, if I didn't have those tools I would've given up long ago. Sang it in 1st grade a lot, too.

  48. FileBananamanowarplayer on Sat Jan 05, 2008 11:57 AM

You solved this puzzle in 16 hours, 46 minutes and 59 seconds and were the 338th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.

Wikipedia's spelling is correct BUT you had to already know the original name - not the americanized version with Smith.

  49. Avatar_profileStrawberrySam32 on Sat Jan 05, 2008 12:15 PM

i got the spelling on the first try. I am amazing! Or at least I am amazed I could possibly pull that off

  50. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Sat Jan 05, 2008 01:07 PM

[49] Yeah i got the spelling without google too. I forgot about the smith spelling....

  51. Avatar_profileGrapestinderfire on Sat Jan 05, 2008 01:16 PM

Why does Tanga keep posting puzzles with ridiculous, impossible-to-spell answers?!?!

    This is so f%*^ing annoying!

    Otherwise, nice puzzle.

  52. BobnmaiaPotatoVermont_Bob on Sat Jan 05, 2008 01:36 PM

very clever - even got it on the first spelling

  53. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Sat Jan 05, 2008 02:48 PM

    WaHOOOO! Spelled right, and everything!

  54. Avatar_profileKiwiLeezer on Sat Jan 05, 2008 03:44 PM

I can't believe I spelled that correctly on the first try!

  55. Avatar_profileAceGertSoB on Sat Jan 05, 2008 04:15 PM

You solved this puzzle in 9 minutes and 51 seconds and were the 372nd Tanga member to solve it.

I had the answer running through my head after about a minute a half, but it took me another 8 minutes to justify it.

  56. Avatar_profileAceGertSoB on Sat Jan 05, 2008 04:22 PM

    Now reading the comments.

[45], that ain't a pond. Not a lake either, which is what I was thinking.

[48], there's an Americanised spelling with Smith? Never heard of it.

And I can only think of one way to spell it, which fortunately is the right way. Maybe I should google it to find all these alternative spellings that people are stumbling on.

  57. Avatar_profilePotatodklash on Sat Jan 05, 2008 06:19 PM

I got it in 7 minutes. I was breaking one of the words into two words.

  58. Thumbs_up_guyBananasamisgr8 on Fri Aug 15, 2008 05:12 PM

    Nice puzzle! Thanks cyncat!
