Didn't really care for this one.
grrr. Hate it....and can't get it
I can't tell what the middle image in the bottom row is supposed to be, and my brain isn't connecting the pieces around it :/
Grrr. I can't get the bottom line
me neither Abba. I think I'm stuck with the last photo. Everything I'm trying isn't giving me a word
What the hell is that supposed to be in the top left and the bottom middle?!?
[3] and what IS that middle image supposed to be?
I don't even know what the first thing is. :)
What is that first image supposed to be?
[8], [9] i'm guessing it's a small mountain... have no idea about the middle bottom though
you guys are really making a mountain out of a molehill.
Clever, if not obvious enough. Google is your friend on the bottom middle
Well, I think I have it, but it's not liking the spelling I think.
what in the world would you google to figure that one out???
Finally!!!
I had already considered the correct answer for bottom middle, but it was the last one that I wasn't getting. It is a bit of a stretch on the last one, you have to make an assumption. But it works in the end.
Whee! A top 100.
The middle of the bottom row: Are those 2 letters?
Ack. That stupid bottom-middle picture has got me lost...
Ok. Im officially stumped. I think I have the answer too. Tangagram anyone?
I think the bottom middle is pretty much spelled out; although not as neatly as the top middle
[18] I think the bottom middle and top middle mean the same thing.
Ugh. The bottom middle is also "uh." And even though the top is a "first" the answer is not a "first."
[22] Well then I don't have it. I thought it was a 1st.
OMG! My first 100! WOOT!
not getting it. Got all the pix except possibly the last one, and can't figure out an answer that seems to work with what I have...
I got it, although it seems more like Bill should be the answer... :-)
[25] Same here
[26] LOL!
Ugh. Weak.
People are pretty liberal with the vowel sounds in these.
Well, what I have makes sense, unless I have the wrong word for the past pic... any salt?
Who's the woman on the top right?
i had the bottom row almost right away. kept thinking of a star trek movie
That was terrible. The extreme stretch in vowels ("Chelsea" seemed awfully likely), the first name/last name lack of parallelism, the fact that the second line isn't a particularly accurate clue...feh.
ah, that bottom middle pic I was seeing as "un" but I had the rest. That was throwing me waaaay off base.
Sorry, but lame. The answer should be the OTHER half, to match the puzzle (which I tried 30 minutes ago). And I agree with [30]... if the vowel sounds aren't right, it makes solving a lot harder. Not everyone speaks the same way, even within the US.
got the answer, still do not see the connection
GAH! forget it.
Frustrating that I got all the other ones - was 20th or so for both the hard one-word and the hypercross - but can't get this one.
Ok..got it....but you have to think very specifically about the last pic in the bottom row. Where does she fit in the family dynamic?
[33] THANK YOU!! Once I checked out the Star Trek movies I figured out what the bottom was REALLY saying!
[41] Yep, that did it for me, too. So thank you [33]!
[33] That saved me. I liked that movie least of the series. Bleh.
This was pretty weak, and certainly takes liberties with strategies and opposition.
OK, I finally got it, with help from [33],[41],[42] and [43], and once I had that I figured out who the woman at the top right is. But the vowels are *really* screwed up. There's no way I would have got it without the ST hint, no matter how many times I sounded it out. And then once I got it there were so many answers to choose from!
And the trend continues. What is **up** with these hard "easy" puzzles?
Funny!!! I went to look at the "hard" and the ad to the right of the puzzle is "Hillary for 2008".
Tried a random answer, loosely based on the top pictures, and got it. I still have no idea what the bottom three images are.
Lousy puzzle - I don't see how the bottom right picture helps with the star trek movie reference.
salt: female sibling
I kept trying to find a way to type in what the puzzle said, not thinking to type in the answer to the puzzle ..grrr
This puzzle is one word? What?
Wow, finally got it... it is just stupid. I got the 2nd part easily after a few clues but kept thinking it was related to StarTrek (it isn't in any way). Plus, the person on the far left really has nothing to do with the sound...
Lousy puzzle. Standard crossword puzzle logic: a clue containing a "plural" refers to a plural answer. Likewise, a first-name clue *should* refer to a first-name answer. I had the correct answer straight off, then wasted 30 mins playing out-guess the puzzler, before realizing that it was poorly constructed.
Ouch. Yes, it is stupid.
For those needing some serious salting, you are not looking for the word, you are looking for a *clue*.
Thanks John [49], that got it for me. Boo.
I got it finally but I still dont know what the black and white thing is.
[56] It's another UH. Substitute it with another picture of the idiot president if that helps.
I got it, but I still don't get the last line.
Okay, with enough help from the nicely salty comments, I got the clue. But, I still got nothing from there. Way too many options, from what Google's telling me.
Getting better. Sure, it took 4 and a half minutes, but got there in the end.
so i got the riddle part but i keep typing her personality and its not accepting it...
[61] LOL! Yeah, sooo many to choose from...
When I put the 'clue' into Google, it returned: "Results 1 - 10 of about 30,000" ;-)
For all those who have figured out the clue but not the answer think short term and in the current context. No need to think of past events or possible future ones...
Did it, don't agree with the hints, and it definitely takes liberties on the sound fragments. I specifically didn't like the last frame, as it wasn't specific enough. The relationship mentioned only works from one perspective.
I hated it til I figured it out. I like it jewelia.
I'm missing a lot of the meanings vowel comments. Of all the puzzles I've tried to sound things out or say them aloud, this is the first one that ever really fit. The top is clear and the bottom left may be a slight stretch but I can't think of another way to present it. And the bottom right was easy based on another puzzle looking for the name of a lung disease.
[65] Thanks. Perhaps it makes more sense now, at least in Iowa. ;-)
rotten filth.
For those solving this puzzle after 2008, this puzzle refers to people who ran against each other during the democratic presidential primary races.
As of 2009, both people now have federal jobs.
