napoleon always had a hand in his pocket

Yeah me!! First and second top 100 scores in one night
For some reason I thought it was John Wilkes Booth at first. Here's a hint: it's not.
Gee thanks ;)
I was thinking the same thing and I can't get it out of my head.
[8] Strange, I had thought that too. I had a "duh" moment when I realized who it actually was. But I'm not gonna reveal the answer and be a telltale.
Okay, thanks =)
No one asks for the answer. Just a nudge which way to go.
[11] I should donate my points to you... that was MOST excellent salt. ;)

It is not in the form of a question. You don't need the background to solve this one.
No? ;)
S-Words SABER!!!!
ugh... missed top 100 because of pluralization.
[17] It always is.
Must say, [11]... very nice salt.
Yay... I was happy I knew that guy without having to look anywhere. Good puzzle.
[17] I'm in the same boat. Grrrr....
[11] thanks good salt
hilarious!
I think you do Trebek, I think you do indeed....
I also thought it was booth.... Hey pepperhead, do you ask for salt alot? he he.
(is this less salty?) the answer might sound familiar to people who watch the background a lot
[25] Yes, much less salty... thanks. :)
Ugh! I was just talking about this guy today, and still couldn't figure it out right away. I guess it's been way too long since 9th grade English class (my teacher was a dead-ringer for the guy!).
thanks [27]
I don't hate this puzzle yet... but "random image searches without context" really suck. I have no idea who that grainy old photo is of.
[29] Go look at [11]... best salt we've got.
[30] then I'm screwed
[31] Especially its last word... take it to heart.
Well I got the name, got the first word, and still don't know what it is.
:~(
got it from the background picture. hopefully people know that the picture isnt actually from the show depicted in the picture.
[34] So that isn't Sean Connery?
I this puzzle would be the pits, but the pendulum swung, and I got the answer without much rantin' and ravin'.
oh well. I got it.
With the writer strike on, it seems that SNL shall nevermore have skits like that!
[35] It is supposed to be, but it isn't. If they find out hi is a Celebrity impersonator, he could be in Jeopardy, the buck futter.
Had the first half as soon as I saw it but the second half of the second part didn't click until I read [25], Thanks.
That was fun!
nice!
even though i have the first part i cant figure out what the 2nd part has to do with SNL
This was a fun one, enough salt to get me going but not so much I didn't have to use my brain. Thanks all.
I knew who the guy was right off, but it was [25]'s salt that put it together for me.
I'm glad most of you are having fun with my first contribution to Daily Fun - too bad I was away yesterday and didn't know it was going to be up until this morning... I think enough salt is out there, but if you really can't get it, wait for the hints - I think they're pretty helpful.
what do you mean by "salt"?
I'll take The Penis Mightier, Alex...
[46] Fun puzzle and awesome username, DoomDahDoomDoom.
[47] "Salt" is Tanga lingo for hints.
good puzzle, i gotta start signing in on time for these.
[47] Since you're new here (welcome!) you should check out the puzzler FAQ:

It tells you about salt and all sorts of other puzzle goodness.
[43] The author could have used the actual gameshow in the background; this way is just funnier!
14 seconds, baby!
[8] I totally thought it was John Wilkes Booth, too! I have no idea why.
[11] gets the prize for awesome salt.
And I now know a whole lot more than I ever wanted to about that show. Taking [25]'s salt I read all the WP pages on the show, and eventually found the answer. (Hint: it's NOT on the main page for the show, so don't bother with that one.)
hrm. the first word was obvious to me, but I never would have gotten the second one without trusty ol google.
Thanks for the salt [11] - that gave it to me. I had no idea who that guy was..... And the background cinches it!
[11] cinched it. "I'll take therapists for a hundred Alex".
"An Album Cover"
Quoth the Raven: "If I had only known who the guy was I would've gotten it long ago."
"Japan-US Relations" FTW.
I wouldn't have ever gotten it if it weren't for the background. I recognized the old man right away because of a certain time traveling Venture Bros. episode. "His head is like a melon!"
[24] needed a lot of salt this past 7 or so days,
I was ready to blow my seeds the other night on the Hard OWW
wow, why do we all instantly think this guy was John Wilkes Booth? how strange...
I realized who it is after a minute, but I thought JWB at first too. Do an image search on him in google, and some of the pics look a heck of a lot like the one here, hand in the coat and all.
so funny. When I saw what the picture was in the background I knew what the answer was going to be before even looking at the actual puzzle. Was still fun though.
I think I would have preferred a teletubby
i know what it is, i just can't spell it?
[67] tele-what?
YEAH! 828th! Go me! :D
I read the 3 hints given above and still don't understand it. Now that it's two years later, perhaps someone could just explain the answer, starting with who the guy is.
