[2] look at how you found the clues in each box

  5. FileEggplantcllumley on Jan 08, 2008 07:08 PM

Got it but what's with the letters on top of the boxes?

  6. FileEggplantcllumley on Jan 08, 2008 07:08 PM

    never mind

  7. FileSailboatAlba on Jan 08, 2008 07:09 PM

The large letters were distracting. But I also made this much harder than it actually was.

wow...I made that way harder than it was! AHHH!!!

  9. AssetsSailboatkayvon on Jan 08, 2008 07:17 PM

[4] Ah. That makes sense. As [7] said, I think the large letters distract more than assist. But the puzzle is still enjoyable and quick.

yes... large letters distracted me too. but it was fun.

Am I the only one that felt the large letters were immensely helpful? I mean, without them it can get confusing as the same thing can be found in two boxes throwing of the result a little bit. The large letters were exactly what I needed to help me. Without them I would have just guessed, within 7 tries I likely would have gotten it.

  13. PonyguncropBananaPony on Jan 08, 2008 08:06 PM

Huh. I didn't even really notice the large letters until after I solved. But word searches are a favorite of mine, so the names just jumped right out at me.

Cute puzzle- nice to have an "easy one word wonder" that's actually easy. :)

[12] The letters did click with me too, and I found the last few quickly, but surely not much quicker than without them.

But I don't think a distraction is necessarily bad. Sometimes puzzles are about misdirection. I thought the letters were cute.

  16. FileAppledlandon2000 on Jan 08, 2008 09:13 PM

I just started guessing the obvious answers and didn't realize what the letter were (small ones still don't know what the big ones are for) till after I'd guessed it correctly.

  17. Avatar_profileKiwitaznjazz on Jan 08, 2008 09:34 PM

The big letters threw me off, but this would have been too easy otherwise.

  18. AvatarSailboatjjcool on Jan 08, 2008 10:27 PM

one too many question marks. that threw me off a bit

  19. Avatar_profileKiwitaznjazz on Jan 08, 2008 10:41 PM

I don't think the question marks are wrong...

  20. FileAppleGantrell on Jan 08, 2008 11:04 PM

um....ok. that was a tad easy. but thats cool too.

  21. Avatar_profileWatermelonRatteler50 on Jan 09, 2008 12:58 AM

I don't even know where to begin....

  22. Avatar_profileWatermelonRatteler50 on Jan 09, 2008 12:59 AM

    bah, now I see it

  23. FilePeachTorrin on Jan 09, 2008 07:53 AM

Fun one - and i agree that the letters helped.

  24. Avatar_profileWatermelondaryelv on Jan 09, 2008 09:31 AM

    Cool puzzle.

  25. Avatar_profileAppledragon66 on Jan 09, 2008 11:52 AM

Hey, I liked it. It looks tough, but is easy enough for the puzzle-challenged like me. Thanks, Cyncat!

  26. Pigeon.poop.payoffApplemdin617 on Jan 09, 2008 12:04 PM

The letters definitely confused me, then helped me - my first approach was to treat the boxes as a key to a playfair cipher with the large letters as ciphertext.

Needless to say, that was not a useful approach, which I realized when I remembered that it was supposed to be an easy one. At that point, the letters helped immensely.

  27. FilePlumdougtaylor1 on Jan 09, 2008 12:36 PM

The big letters scared me off. Too much going on and I didn't have time. When I came back and saw the discussion about the big letters, I realized how easy the puzzle was. Eliminated from a list in about 10 seconds.
