  3. FileKiwiMonkeyArcher on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:06 PM

    who da heck is Jim?

  4. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:06 PM

    [1] I'm Jim, and I don't even know.

  5. FilePepperdajagr on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:06 PM

[2] And because it's so early on, it makes it difficult to get anywhere else.

  6. FileCarrotblahmcblah on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:07 PM

    OH!

  7. FileRocketPhantaCComics on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:07 PM

Yeah, I know all the others but I need Jim. I'm grasping at straws and coming up empty.

  8. FileApplePHGraves on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:08 PM

7th! Stumbled on the "pieces" (physics lectures led me astray).

  9. FilePeachdiehard4life on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:08 PM

Well, it isn't a number that is a single word as far as I can tell.

  10. FileCarrotblahmcblah on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:10 PM

[8] Salt on the next step?

  11. FileOnionmetafor on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:10 PM

    I need jim two

  12. Avatar_profileBananaspurs13 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:10 PM

only one I cant get is # of easy pieces for jack

  13. FileDuckienrkii on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:10 PM

    Jim help blahmcblah?

  14. FileDuckienrkii on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:10 PM

spurs, you can count them on one hand

  15. FileCarrotblahmcblah on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:11 PM

[13] Really recent movie. Guy's going crazy over this number.

  16. FilePepperdajagr on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:11 PM

Oh, forget it. I couldn't care eef anyone gave me the answer or not.

  17. 217303494_crw_7371110107Appleamaries80 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:12 PM

I did the math....where do I go next?!!!

  18. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:13 PM

    Love it. Good one.

  19. FileRocketPhantaCComics on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:14 PM

Yeah, got them now. Tried a few things but now it doesn't seem to compute for me. Oh well, heavily distracted right now. Will try later.

  20. FileAppleBolisazel on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:15 PM

Humm - I've entered the title of every movie with that number...no luck.

  21. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:15 PM

Not sure on Jim or the monkeys (although I have an idea on the monkeys - Bruce Willis?)

  22. FileAppleABBAbear on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:16 PM

Yeah, I have done the math. Got all the numbers in the spaces on the right and still nothing. A numeric answer or word answer is wrong. Grrrr.

  23. FileKiwiMonkeyArcher on Fri Jan 11, 2008 05:44 AM

    [15] thank you!

[17] it isn't about the destination. It is about the journey

  24. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:24 PM

[22] You'll need all the blanks' numbers to answer this.

I would've liked this more if the theme and the answer were intertwined.

  25. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:24 PM

[22] do the obvious thing (well, what would be obvious if you _started_ at the point you are at.)

  26. FileOnionmetafor on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:24 PM

Can't come up with a movie title that incorporates what I think the math answer is...or a synonym for the number.

  27. FileCarrotblahmcblah on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:26 PM

[24] They are. You've never seen it?

  28. FileCarrotblahmcblah on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:27 PM

Although they could be MORE intertwined by having it follow the same exact theme...

  29. Avatar_profilePearcfvmatt on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:27 PM

I got hung up on Jim too. Good salt 23! Thanks!

  30. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:33 PM

[27] Ah, hadn't thought of it that way.

  31. FileAcescarver on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:33 PM

[15] The only movie in the last four months with a Jim or James was Jimmy Carter Man from Plains. Don't think that was it.

  32. FileEggplantjtotheh on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:35 PM

It's been forever since I've seen that.

  33. AssetsSailboatkayvon on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:35 PM

Got the answer. Still have no clue who jim is. (Found I could guess at it with only the first 3 numbers.)

  34. 217303494_crw_7371110107Appleamaries80 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:37 PM

Jim is pretty funny in most of his movies...this movie was not a comedy...

  35. AssetsSailboatkayvon on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:38 PM

[34] Thanks. Now I have some easy-word closure.

  36. FileKiwiMonkeyArcher on Fri Jan 11, 2008 05:45 AM

[29] thanks. I wasn't sure if that would help or confuse

  37. FileApplefsumarc on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:57 PM

bleh. this puzzle makes my head explode for some reason... I had all the numbers quickly and did the math. And that's where I've been stuck ever since. I've gone down over a dozen wrong routes.. nothing.

  38. FilePeppercyncat on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:09 PM

[37] When all you've got is a bunch of numbers, and you need to get some letters, what would you do?

  39. Someguy2Radishcapkincaid on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:10 PM

Went down the wrong rabbit hole there for a moment. pretty good.

  40. FileSailboatcmg528 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:11 PM

I too have the answer to the math, but don't know what to do with it

  41. 217303494_crw_7371110107Appleamaries80 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:16 PM

still stuck....I think I'm going to sleep on it and try in the morning.

  42. Avatar_profileRocketmz on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:19 PM

[40] You should have a lot more than just one answer.

  43. FileApplegilby123 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:33 PM

Good puzzle, though the Jim clue needed a bit more description. AS is, I think it's a little too vague.

  44. Tanga-pink-avatarBananaMorganza on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:57 PM

[38] and [23] were the salt I needed to guess it after the first three. Now to backsolve...

  45. Tanga-pink-avatarBananaMorganza on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:58 PM

[40] Didn't your elementary school math teacher tell you to always show your work?

  46. FilePeardrblizzle on Thu Jan 10, 2008 09:48 PM

yay. such a good satisfied feeling i have inside.

  47. Avatar_profilePeachfiorebrilliante on Thu Jan 10, 2008 11:13 PM

Oooh, I liked this one. It makes me want to dance!

  48. FilePancakesCWarrior on Fri Jan 11, 2008 03:03 PM

Edited because I made a stupid mistake....

  49. FileDuckiedavey3 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 04:35 AM

Thanks [34] .... that was the only comment that was even close to salty for me.

What makes the Jim clue particularly difficult is that some clues mention an actor and some mention a role.

  50. FileOrangeheymondo on Fri Jan 11, 2008 06:49 AM

I really liked this one despite the way too obscure Jim clue. I was brain Daedalus until I got this one.

  51. FileClockJewelia on Fri Jan 11, 2008 07:24 AM

[48] I think you've made a mistake. The math worked for me, once I got the right Jim. This was fun!

  52. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Fri Jan 11, 2008 07:51 AM

Good puzzle, once the Jim clue was cleared up!

    Go Bowie!

  53. Avatar_profileStrawberryccTheToph on Fri Jan 11, 2008 07:54 AM

Terrific puzzle - one of my favorites yet.

To my mind, once the wheels were rolling, it was perfectly clear and correct.

  54. FilePeppercyncat on Fri Jan 11, 2008 08:05 AM

[43] Thanks. Maybe the clue should have been:

    "The Number" constantly surrounding Jim.

  55. DgbGrapesBusterBluth on Fri Jan 11, 2008 08:16 AM

Great puzzle. Now that I solved it, it has no power over me

  56. Avatar_profileGrapessigmazero13 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 08:18 AM

I've got the power.... power of the babe!

  57. 217303494_crw_7371110107Appleamaries80 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 08:27 AM

[55] and [56] gave me the salt to make a guess...could someone tangagram me how to solve this puzzle the right way?

    'the babe with the power'

  58. FilePeppercyncat on Fri Jan 11, 2008 08:35 AM

    [57] I sent you one.

  59. Avatar_profileOrangerzx11 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 09:02 AM

Is the answer simple just the result of the math?

  60. FileSailboatIlta on Fri Jan 11, 2008 09:30 AM

[59] Yes. It would be cool if there was one more twist, in keeping with the theme of the puzzle. Still fun though.

  61. FileKiwiMonkeyArcher on Fri Jan 11, 2008 09:35 AM

[59] yes, if you meant to type 'results'

  62. BobnmaiaPotatoVermont_Bob on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:35 AM

Hmmmm, didn't have a problem with the Jim clue at all, but I've seen the movie. Good puzzle, even if I did chase the red herring the first time around.

  63. FileAppledlandon2000 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:14 PM

[60] It is? I've tried that both numerically and spelling it out as well as every number + or - 5 in case I got a few wrong and still nothing...

  64. FileStrawberrysmilingra on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:15 PM

The salt [55] and [56] really helped, and now I know that there are multiple ways of using Tanga numbers...

  65. Avatar_profilePearkdiddy13 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:29 PM

Definitely not overly hard (once you get past Jim), but still some work.

I remember a day not so long ago when Easy One Words were much easier and didn't require writing stuff down. Some days, I miss them...

    Otherwise a nifty puzzle.

  66. FilePeppercyncat on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:39 PM

[63] The answer is neither a number nor a number spelled out.
Look at comments [61], [23], [38] and the latter part of [64].

  67. Tornado_warningSailboatandythewxman on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:59 PM

    Nice puzzle!

  68. FileStrawberryschmucklehead on Fri Jan 11, 2008 01:09 PM

That whole thing made zero sense after all numbers. [57] googled gets it.

  69. FilePlumsjlee on Fri Jan 11, 2008 01:15 PM

[49] Unless the puzzle has been changed, all of the names in the clues are the actors' names, so it's consistent.

  70. FilePlumsjlee on Fri Jan 11, 2008 01:22 PM

I finally got it after realizing that I was using the wrong numbers... it's a math puzzle afterall!

  71. Avatar_profileAppleLightInfo on Fri Jan 11, 2008 03:29 PM

[68] It helps if you remember the lesson you learned in grade/high school math: always show your work. You can solve this puzzle the right way.

    [56][57] too salty maybe?

  72. FileOrangedebsprpldragon on Fri Jan 11, 2008 04:57 PM

<<<I lost!! Going to my corner

  73. SittingintrafficStrawberryChrisGWilliams on Fri Feb 15, 2008 07:14 PM

You solved this puzzle in 4 minutes and 35 seconds and were the 458th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 3 points for solving this.

  74. Picture-303Pumpkingodard on Thu Feb 28, 2008 06:43 PM

    Not an easy puzzle.

  75. FileEggj15bell on Wed May 13, 2009 01:06 AM

this was long trudging thru the comments to figure out who the heck is Jim.

it is the name of an actor not a role. which made this quite the enigma!
