[10] That's cute. Unfortunately I can fall into that category too.
(well, actually I solved the other dailies first, so it isn't 23 minutes yet for me :-)
Holy crap... that was PAINFUL. Never would have gotten it without [18]. If you look up pictures of that, it almost never has the ball on top. I was stuck on 'hat'. Just imagine you have a mouthful of marbles... then when you read the clues, it sounds like what the answer is. ;)
You are a freaking genius!!, you solved this puzzle.
You solved this puzzle in 25 minutes and 13 seconds and were the 117th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.
Once I looked up what a 'Canadian' hat was it clicked right away thanks [18]
It amazes me that people can recognize that there are ridiculous stretches here (how exactly does "fr" become "m" in the last line?) and yet think it was "nice work...putting this together". This never should have made it past the (hypothetical?) editing stage.
Once I decided to take the hint from [16] and look up what the proper name for a chef's hat is (and already knowing that I'd have to be very loose with pronunciation from what's been commented on a lot), the rest fell into place.
I try not to give negative criticism, but while I find that a single pronunciation stretch is OK, and can even be witty or pleasurable, this one is so distorted that it seems like a Dali painting. And not in a good way.
I never realized you had such a severe speech impediment, fachanlahd. LOL
Some huge stretches here. I was in the top ten on the other 3 puzzles last night, but stumped on this one. I was saying all sorts of nonsense phrases out loud, but nothing sounded familiar to me. Sheesh!!
[7] good salt. But trying to figure out the answers after looking at the pictures, the forest makes no sense and the Futurama character makes no sense. Aside from that, never make a puzzle like that again... EVER.

A chef's hat would have been a bit of a better fit than the Habs stocking cap, eh?
And I agree that there are a LOT of LONG stretches in pronunciation.

Way to many stretches. I still don't see how the hat fits for what goes in that part of the answer.
BTW, 22 minutes and 43, so I guess i DON'T fall into that category after all.

this was a good one. The TV show that had cryptopix was more along the lines of this puzzle and not always straight forward like what we usually get.
I have a board game called Mad Gab which creates phrases that are like this and you have to figure it out.
I guess when you do it like this it is a lot of peoples "Ache Hilly Seal"
