Feels like there were a lot of stretches in here. Maybe it's just me.

  2. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:05 PM

I got the first line... dat's it! :)

  3. Avatar_profileAppleseagull on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:06 PM

[1] Not just you - but that helped me guess.

  4. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:12 PM

Wow.. reeeally huge gaping stretches ... I'm speechless...

  5. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:13 PM

Middle line has me totally flustered

  6. Picture-303Pumpkingodard on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:14 PM

I got it but I don't know how I got it

  7. FileSailboatDAbrames on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:14 PM

hmmm... that was some stretched out meatloaf, for sure.

  8. Avatar_profileKiwistufuller on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:16 PM

You solved this puzzle in 2 minutes and 22 seconds and were the 31st Tanga member to solve it. You earned 80 points for solving this.

  9. FileDuckiedavey3 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:19 PM

    Good puzzle!

  10. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:20 PM

You've stared at this puzzle for 23 minutes and 45 seconds and aren't close to solving it. You've been snickered at 104 times for not solving this.

  11. Phi3CornPhilana on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:20 PM

Too many pronunciation stretches for me.

  12. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:23 PM

[10] That's cute. Unfortunately I can fall into that category too.
(well, actually I solved the other dailies first, so it isn't 23 minutes yet for me :-)

  13. FilePancakesepaz on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:24 PM

    [10] LOL
    [11] ditto!

  14. BobnmaiaPotatoVermont_Bob on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:24 PM

[7] good salt, would have never gotten it without that.

  15. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:24 PM

Any salt for the ends of the middle line?

  16. FileRocketBearcat89 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:26 PM

A chef's hat would have been a bit of a better fit than the Habs stocking cap, eh?

And I agree that there are a LOT of LONG stretches in pronunciation.

  17. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:27 PM

Way to many stretches. I still don't see how the hat fits for what goes in that part of the answer.

BTW, 22 minutes and 43, so I guess i DON'T fall into that category after all.

  18. FileRocketBearcat89 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:27 PM

    [17] Not a hat...ask Bob and Doug.

  19. FilePumpkinsuigeneris on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:30 PM

    [edit] nevermind, comment became repetitive.

  20. FileClockJewelia on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:29 PM

Even though that tuque a lot longer than most cryptopixes, it was still a lot of fun!

  21. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:31 PM

Holy crap... that was PAINFUL. Never would have gotten it without [18]. If you look up pictures of that, it almost never has the ball on top. I was stuck on 'hat'. Just imagine you have a mouthful of marbles... then when you read the clues, it sounds like what the answer is. ;)

  22. FileTomatotlmitch7 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:33 PM

That was great salt (7), thanks.

  23. FileEggjohninc on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:38 PM

Sorry, that was just not good.

  24. FilePeachSkittlebrau on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:38 PM

that was a greater stretch than me in a size small t-shirt....

  25. FileSailboatcmg528 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:39 PM

You are a freaking genius!!, you solved this puzzle.
You solved this puzzle in 25 minutes and 13 seconds and were the 117th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.

Once I looked up what a 'Canadian' hat was it clicked right away thanks [18]

  26. FilePumpkinperihelion on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:42 PM

I have to agree, that stretched too far for credibility.

  27. FilePlumReviarg on Wed Feb 20, 2008 07:52 PM

wow, this is really an interesting stretch. Nice work by the creator in putting this together. It was very challenging

  28. SouthparkPepperTahnan on Wed Feb 20, 2008 08:19 PM

It amazes me that people can recognize that there are ridiculous stretches here (how exactly does "fr" become "m" in the last line?) and yet think it was "nice work...putting this together". This never should have made it past the (hypothetical?) editing stage.

  29. FilePotatogoingboeing on Wed Feb 20, 2008 08:22 PM

Thank you [7] for your seasoning.

  30. FileBananaIronSausage on Wed Feb 20, 2008 08:34 PM

Bed time. too pooped to think this out. finish it tomorrow. up yours.

  31. Avatar_profileGrapesHrebec on Wed Feb 20, 2008 08:55 PM

    [18] did it to [19]

    You might say life

  32. Avatar_profileGrapesHrebec on Wed Feb 20, 2008 08:55 PM

    imitates tanga

  33. Avatar_profileGrapesHrebec on Wed Feb 20, 2008 08:56 PM

Now I did it to myself.

  34. FilePancakeshatemachine on Wed Feb 20, 2008 09:07 PM

    Awful puzzle.

    [28] I agree. Fry + Malph = my mouth?

  35. FileOnionJohn on Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:00 PM

    Ow... just ow.

It's night, but it's not even summer or hot.

  36. FilePeachsouthaustin on Thu Feb 21, 2008 12:24 AM

    [7] Thanks. Otherwise...

You solved this puzzle in 5 minutes and 44 seconds and were the 213rd Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.

  37. Sc002a57f6Pumpkinrunart on Thu Feb 21, 2008 03:54 AM

    (7)Thanks.

  38. FileRocketsteelersluver on Thu Feb 21, 2008 04:19 AM

[7] and [18] did it for me! Thanks. Some of the words are a bit of a stretch, but you can get it if you read the posts.

  39. FileKiwichemguy on Thu Feb 21, 2008 07:14 AM

This puzzle is more of a stretch than the plotlines on 24!

  40. Cuicocha2Sailboathokie98 on Thu Feb 21, 2008 07:34 AM

You solved this puzzle in 5 minutes and 3 seconds and were the 279th Tanga member to solve it.

[7] and [18] definitely helps. Thanks for the salt!

  41. FileApplemutilatedlips on Thu Feb 21, 2008 08:10 AM

    just awful

  42. Avatar_profileGrapesctettam9 on Thu Feb 21, 2008 08:27 AM

    Painful.....

  43. Tanga_profile_photoRaspberryWhiteKnight85 on Thu Feb 21, 2008 09:11 AM

Once I decided to take the hint from [16] and look up what the proper name for a chef's hat is (and already knowing that I'd have to be very loose with pronunciation from what's been commented on a lot), the rest fell into place.

I try not to give negative criticism, but while I find that a single pronunciation stretch is OK, and can even be witty or pleasurable, this one is so distorted that it seems like a Dali painting. And not in a good way.

  44. FileSailboatyelowflower on Thu Feb 21, 2008 09:28 AM

without the posts this one was totally out there. thanks for all the salt

  45. FileAppleskitty on Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:09 AM

Thanks, [7], couldn't have done it without you.

  46. Avatar_profilePearthehoboprince on Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:19 AM

Way too stretched. But I'm "shocked" at the answer.

  47. FileApplejoginsberg on Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:42 AM

I finally got it after all the salt, but how did the first person who got it actually figure it out? Excruciating...

  48. FileApplejoginsberg on Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:43 AM

    accidental auto repeat

  49. FileApplejoginsberg on Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:42 AM

I finally got it after all the salt, but how did the first person who got it actually figure it out? Excruciating...

  50. OdinGrapesradarodin on Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:01 AM

The only reason i got this was because of(18). Then it just clicked

  51. FileEggMurdoctor on Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:05 AM

I never realized you had such a severe speech impediment, fachanlahd. LOL

Some huge stretches here. I was in the top ten on the other 3 puzzles last night, but stumped on this one. I was saying all sorts of nonsense phrases out loud, but nothing sounded familiar to me. Sheesh!!

  52. FileGrapesBig on Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:41 AM

    goat

  53. FileGrapesMarek21 on Thu Feb 21, 2008 01:36 PM

this was a good one. The TV show that had cryptopix was more along the lines of this puzzle and not always straight forward like what we usually get.

I have a board game called Mad Gab which creates phrases that are like this and you have to figure it out.

I guess when you do it like this it is a lot of peoples "Ache Hilly Seal"

  54. FileAppledlandon2000 on Thu Feb 21, 2008 02:54 PM

[7] thanks without that clue I'd never have gotten this.

  55. FileAppledlandon2000 on Thu Feb 21, 2008 02:55 PM

    Salt: That's a Canadian hat

  56. Avatar_profilePlumMensa on Thu Feb 21, 2008 03:07 PM

    A puzzle with Canadian salt - eh? got it in 5 min after salt from [20}

  57. FileStrawberryschmucklehead on Thu Feb 21, 2008 04:15 PM

[7] good salt. But trying to figure out the answers after looking at the pictures, the forest makes no sense and the Futurama character makes no sense. Aside from that, never make a puzzle like that again... EVER.

  58. FileGrapesBig on Thu Feb 21, 2008 05:46 PM

    EVER!

  59. Avatar_profileWatermelonGinoAgnelly on Thu Feb 21, 2008 05:55 PM

  61. FileAppleABBAbear on Sun Mar 02, 2008 05:18 AM

    Worst. Puzzle. Ever.

  62. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Wed Apr 09, 2008 12:30 AM

    lousy. but i got it.

  63. Avatar_profileGrapesLHIChef on Wed May 26, 2010 01:53 PM

fry malph = my mouth? REALLY?

  64. Dsc_0789Grapesdeputydog73 on Fri Jul 02, 2010 10:13 AM

    poor poor puzzle

  65. Avatar_profileOrangeKennedy1986 on Wed Feb 09, 2011 09:58 PM

    awful. just terrible.

  66. Avatar_profileOrangequeenjames on Fri Mar 04, 2011 11:08 AM

ya i gotta agree that was bad, it took [63]'s obvious hint to make it. i had to alternate possible values for the 4th clue and I have no idea what that hat is, although canadians might. its hard making culture relevant puzzles on the w w w.
