I think they flipped the easy and hard one-worders tonight...

  3. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Jan 19, 2008 07:06 PM

  5. FileRaspberryBadMagic on Jan 19, 2008 07:07 PM

    Standard tanga procedure.

  6. FileSailboatbrigand13 on Jan 19, 2008 07:09 PM

"Standard tanga procedure", what's that: Come up with a crazy pun then guess till you get it right?

  7. FileEggplantrdunlap1125 on Jan 19, 2008 07:09 PM

    Very clever...

  8. Avatar_profileApplemullen1099 on Jan 19, 2008 07:11 PM

what is the first thing you think of while solving tanga puzzles when you see that number? It may help to verbalize your thoughts.

  9. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Jan 19, 2008 07:13 PM

Ah...! Clever, indeed. But I'm not sure I would have gotten it (for a while, anyway) without the nudge here.

  10. FileRocketTrinSF on Jan 19, 2008 07:17 PM

I get the tanga part, but I am still mystified about the picture.

Edit: OH! *groan* I had to change my pronunciation to get it, and then the picture made sense.

  11. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Jan 19, 2008 07:14 PM

I think "black jack!", but that ain't it. And it ain't scandium. I'm lost

  12. FileOrangetrumpetjosh on Jan 19, 2008 07:14 PM

    me too

  13. FileGarlick1w1 on Jan 19, 2008 07:16 PM

Interesting, you also go down a similar path if you treat the numbers individually.

  14. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Jan 19, 2008 07:18 PM

    Well, it isn't "bayou" That uses the numbers individually AND together :-}

No idea on this one yet, but I'm still happy, since I hit STU with the other puzzles tonight.

  15. FileEggplantjtotheh on Jan 19, 2008 07:18 PM

I rammed my head against the wall a few times before I got this one.

    Nice one, [13].

  16. FilePepperpepperhead on Jan 19, 2008 07:22 PM

    you got to be kidding

  17. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Jan 19, 2008 07:23 PM

    [14] I'm suffering with ya!

  18. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Jan 19, 2008 07:24 PM

The background looks cumfy, in for 8th. Great puzzle.

  19. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Jan 19, 2008 07:24 PM

    [14] it's not basalt, either.

  20. Avatar_profileKiwiLeezer on Jan 19, 2008 07:29 PM

    Got it, but I'm underwhelmed.

  21. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Jan 19, 2008 07:30 PM

OMG! You have GOT to be kidding! VERY clever! and VERY tricky!

  22. Ag1Potatojeep on Jan 19, 2008 07:30 PM

I think it's cool... I was stuck on thinking it was two letters represented on the picture... which was close. ;)

  23. FileGarlicHope2002 on Jan 19, 2008 07:30 PM

This one was the hardest for me tonight and I feel stupid for that. Still 11th...

  24. FileGrapesMadHatir on Jan 19, 2008 07:35 PM

    21 + picture or picture + 21?

  25. Avatar_profileKiwibefriendmantic on Jan 19, 2008 07:36 PM

I'm still stumped. And I've already solved the other three puzzles... Any salt out there?

  26. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Jan 19, 2008 07:38 PM

monocle, I'm gonna get you. Thanks to you ... arrgh. I'll find you. Then , once I've got you, you'll get it.

  27. FileSailboatyelowflower on Jan 19, 2008 07:39 PM

[5] still too new at this to know what standard procedure is, so any thing someone uninitiated could use?

  28. Avatar_profileKiwidefrancesco1 on Jan 19, 2008 07:42 PM

seems like the hardest one tonight and not much salt yet. i think i have the background and the letters but can't put it all together

  29. FileBananatheChony on Jan 19, 2008 07:42 PM

    88th, still bonus points available.

[27] We use tanga numbers here(1=A, 2=B...). YOU should, too.

  30. FileGrapesMadHatir on Jan 19, 2008 07:42 PM

underwhelmed? this was dumb and a lot of work for 16 points.

  31. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Jan 19, 2008 07:44 PM

I finally got it! And now I'll take that sheepish look off my face.

  32. FileAcescarver on Jan 19, 2008 07:45 PM

    little salt on the background?

  33. FileEggplantjtotheh on Jan 19, 2008 07:52 PM

[24] You don't need the background AND the number, just the background OR the number.

  34. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Jan 19, 2008 07:53 PM

[32]: [31] is about as good as it's gonna get!

  35. 217303494_crw_7371110107Appleamaries80 on Jan 19, 2008 07:56 PM

Ok....I don't get it!! Any salt out there?!

  36. FilePeppercyncat on Jan 19, 2008 07:56 PM

    Thanks [33].

  37. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Jan 19, 2008 08:02 PM

[13] a side effect I had not even intended.

  38. FileOrangetrumpetjosh on Jan 19, 2008 08:26 PM

    i don't get it yet.

  39. FileAppledingo262 on Jan 19, 2008 08:28 PM

Ugh, I think I know what it is, but it's not taking my answers. Must have something over my eyes

  40. FileOrangetrumpetjosh on Jan 19, 2008 08:54 PM

i know it has something to do with sheep........

  41. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Jan 19, 2008 09:08 PM

[40] OK, I was wrong; [31] got you that far, but not far enough.

The best salt is really what theChony has to say in [29]. You really can't go wrong with the advise theChony has to offer, can You?

  42. Avatar_profileRadishRastus on Jan 19, 2008 09:28 PM

    Definitely underwhelmed.

The background is really only helpful to set a theme. You don't need it to solve though.

  43. FileApplegilby123 on Jan 19, 2008 09:34 PM

    Bleah
    not a fan...sorry.

  44. FileClockJewelia on Jan 19, 2008 09:55 PM

    I thought it was cute.

  45. FilePeachWoody on Jan 19, 2008 09:55 PM

    doh!
    thanks [31]

  46. FileBananaSephiroth2906 on Jan 19, 2008 10:13 PM

    ha! Very nice!

  47. FileCarrotpitamuffin on Jan 19, 2008 11:07 PM

Wow, I hate when I think too much. Made it a lot more difficult than it really is. It is clever, though.

  48. Avatar_profilePeachhershb007 on Jan 19, 2008 11:13 PM

Is it just me or does that look looks like a magic swirl of smoke and not the stinky poo covered thing that it really is?

  49. Avatar_profileAceGertSoB on Jan 20, 2008 01:21 AM

[48] A thunderstorm, thunder, lightning, cloud, smoke. Definitely not what it's apparently supposed to represent. Even knowing the answer I still don't see it.

  50. FilePotatoShinigamiSPQR on Jan 20, 2008 03:47 AM

Man, I thought the crap in the background was cotton. I had to come back after sleeping on it to think of the other fluffy fabric constituent it could be.

  51. Avatar_profilePeachjwiv on Jan 20, 2008 05:56 AM

    Ugh. Thanks for the salt.

  52. FileSailboatyelowflower on Jan 20, 2008 06:41 AM

[29][31][33] Thanks, finally figured out what you meant. Got it after a good nites sleep and your help.

  53. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Jan 20, 2008 07:48 AM

[48][49][50] I guess you'll just have to trust me that it is a close-up of the subject at hand.

  54. FilePeachSkittlebrau on Jan 20, 2008 08:27 AM

    GROAN..... that was BAAAAD!!!

  55. Avatar_profileLemonrogerwilco on Jan 20, 2008 08:35 AM

can't pull wool over my eyes!

  56. FileAceMalllkaV on Jan 20, 2008 09:21 AM

U have got to be kidding me. Get answer...take 5 minutes to figure out which version needed. *groan*

  57. FileBananaBobcat on Jan 20, 2008 09:34 AM

Argh! Argh! Argh! Much pain! It hurts us Preciouss, it burns!

  58. FileApplenkpham on Jan 20, 2008 10:36 AM

i give up... i got what the clue was... but the answer is too elusive for me today

  59. FilePancakeshatemachine on Jan 20, 2008 11:15 AM

16+ hours and I still got nothin'

  60. Avatar_profileEggplantjammer1001 on Jan 20, 2008 11:55 AM

My taking the letters individually led me down under, interestingly. Wrongly, but interestingly.

  61. FileGrapesShawn_Solo on Jan 20, 2008 03:37 PM

I have solved half of these puzzles with the words stupid, senseless, and #$%#$@@!

  62. FileAppledlandon2000 on Jan 20, 2008 03:53 PM

Ok, givin that the number is simply a set of tanga numbers it's easy to get the clue... as many have said, sheep, wool etc... but that's extremely generic. Even if I narrow it down to the famous children's rhymes about wool which word would I use?!?

  63. FileBananarinny on Jan 20, 2008 05:00 PM

[62] I wouldn't count on it being a "set" of tanga numbers.

  64. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Jan 20, 2008 05:02 PM

I'm not sure where people are thinking that there is a set of anything in there. I think there would be a bit more space between them if it were meant to be "2" and "1". It is a "21"... plain and simple.

  65. FilePancakeshatemachine on Jan 20, 2008 05:18 PM

  68. FileAppleBolisazel on Jan 20, 2008 06:44 PM

  69. FileAppledingo262 on Jan 24, 2008 03:02 PM

  70. Avatar_profileEggdanfiegener on Sep 19, 2011 06:52 PM
