according to Wiki, I have the right answer, but it's not taking it
Those of us who could probably understand the solve method best would have perhaps the hardest time solving this puzzle.
You almost have to feel your way forward to get the answer...
I like dominoes...oh, wait those aren't dominoes.
Well, they ARE, but... :)
The only place I can find domino 2's upper half is in a place I REALLY don't want to go. :(
Four nice puzzles tonight, scoutmom!
[6] Thanks!
why does that look so familiar?? I should KNOW this!
[8] I bet you could figure these out with your eyes closed
[8] Don't worry, eventually you'll get a feel for the solve method.
Got it from the background image, but the code there is out of date and hard to find...
O woe is me. How did I not see that?????
[11] geez, I got it from wiki.
got the solve method and the clue, but no idea what it is referring to. I am reading the history and it could be one of a bunch of things. Any hint?
[14] Look at the background image.
100th!, 8min 7 seconds
[14] Although the answer can be found in a number of places (I did verify that) wiki is probably the easiest to find it.
I just used the image and figured it out ... not sure I want to solve it using the intended method.
[15] I did - that's what sent me off on the wild googe chase. Got it now by reading the main Wiki article, not the ones linked to in History. Humph - that googe chase chost me the bonus points - 105th.
thank you, got it
silly me, I KNEW I knew it....time to sleep, that's all. :o)
Good set of puzzles tonight scoutmom...thank you.
[18] Why not? It really wasn't very difficult.
[18] Do you want to know?
[22] Once you realize what those things are (and probably more importantly, what they are not), yeah, then it pretty easy to get to the clue.
Rat pong! Halfway (exactly) to STU!
[25] Congrats on the 2500!
Rat Pong! This was easily my favorite tonight. Not so much a hard, but fun, and I learned something new. Wish it hadn't come out on a Thursday night so I'd have a shot at some of those bonus points everyone's already scooped up.
Good job, Scoutmom!
Well I didn't solve it but I got the right answer...
The history here is a bit misleading. At least where the answer is concerned. What you see above postdates, but is based upon, what the answer is to the puzzle. What the answer actually refers to was too complicates and never adopted. What is used above was for a different reason entirely.
I was shocked to see the picture since I just submitted a puzzle a few days ago using the same "game pieces". I was worried. Then I realized they represent something different. cool puzzle. Maybe mine will come next. :)
Nice set of puzzles tonight scoutmom! Got 'em all!
You solved this puzzle in 6 hours, 23 minutes and 37 seconds and were the 197th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.
lol
Tres bon! Fun puzzle -- unexpected and interesting answer.
[30] But the original format would have been very similar to the way this appears and was part of the convoluted thought process used to develop the puzzle. (In other words, the mind sometimes takes a side road!)
[36] After running out of synonyms -- its a specific answer, not a generic term.
People are referring to a background image. I don't see any background image. What am I supposed to see in the background? I've already solved it, but would like to know what I was supposed to see.
[37] I'm betting you have an LCD monitor - you might have to tip it on an angle or adjust your brightness and contrast. In the background is a cavalry soldier from a specific era and country, carrying a flag. If you are a wargamer and/or history buff, you know what army he represents.
Could someone please TG me the solve method. I got the answer, but based on sheer guesses from the salt here.
[39] TG sent
