    Welcome newcomers –
For all the newbies here tonight:
There is also another website that the Tangans use to share questions and answers about the Tanga puzzles and to post more blatant hints than you will find on this blog.
This has a separate Ze puzzle discussion.
The first post for tonight's Ze puzzle starts at:
    http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/1364804#1364804
Don’t forget to go check to see if there is a “next” page.
Also, if you are interested in the definition of some tangaisms you may encounter here (e.g. the use of the word “salt”) please check out the first post of
    https://secure.tanga.com/blogs/461-Ze-Frank-Puzzle-2-17-2007-Blog
    Enjoy!

I vote Erin, but only because that's my name. :)

  5. Avatar_profileCherriesramonomar on Mar 01, 2007 07:07 PM

    Erin or Aaron. No difference.

  15. Avatar_profileCherriesMissJecka on Mar 01, 2007 07:13 PM

[11] That was a lot of salt you put there, but that helped me a lot. :)

  24. Avatar_profileCherrieskendalljoy on Mar 01, 2007 07:36 PM

[17] and [18] keep _searching_. don't get distracted by the monsters page. (really).

feel free to email me: kendalljoy at gmail dot com for more helps.

  25. FileBananaahecht on Mar 01, 2007 07:36 PM

Found the answer using google, but don't know what connection it has to ZeFrank.

  26. FileRadishThosw on Mar 01, 2007 07:43 PM

    Yeah, Google helped.

  27. Avatar_profileCherriesamylynnpsyd on Mar 01, 2007 07:44 PM

Salt please...can't even figure out what to do with the names...

  28. Avatar_profileCherriesScaven7 on Mar 01, 2007 07:45 PM

    laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast

  29. FileRocketBearcat89 on Mar 01, 2007 07:49 PM

The fact that Aaron or Erin both work is pretty salty. Googling (just when did Google become a verb?) certainly helps, but don't go overboard.

  30. Avatar_profileCherrieskendalljoy on Mar 01, 2007 07:52 PM

    [23] good observation.

  31. Avatar_profileCherriesLauralee08 on Mar 01, 2007 07:53 PM

i got the clue.. but now im stuck.

  32. Avatar_profileCherriesKrebflakes on Mar 01, 2007 07:55 PM

I'm stuck on the clue and there's no salt to be had. help.

  33. Avatar_profileCherriesamylynnpsyd on Mar 01, 2007 07:56 PM

    I don't get the clue...gar

  34. Avatar_profileCherriesksaliga on Mar 01, 2007 07:56 PM

Wow - the last few days I felt like a genius. So much so, that I could have sworn that he would have used the answers to the prior 13 puzzles as the clue for the last. I even spent time re-solving some of the prior ones to have the list of answers ready. Lo and behold, I really am a moron. Google what? If aaron or erin don't matter, how can I google them? I took other words in the video, and maybe this is salty without me realizing it, and used those to search with the names, too, but nothing.

  35. Avatar_profileLemonsandar on Mar 01, 2007 07:57 PM

    what does it all mean?

  36. Avatar_profileCherrieshabile_b on Mar 01, 2007 07:59 PM

I've got 13 out of 17, but I don't know what to do with them.

  37. Avatar_profileCherriesmitbart on Mar 01, 2007 07:59 PM

@[34] i thought the same thing. even kept a log of the answers!

  38. Avatar_profileCherriesfwemkfpwoekmf on Mar 01, 2007 08:01 PM

i don't get what the solution had to do with ze's site...

  39. Avatar_profileCherriesScaven7 on Mar 01, 2007 08:01 PM

    laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast

(re-watch the video... follow ze's instructions and notice what he emphasizes)

  40. Avatar_profileCherriesfrenchfille on Mar 01, 2007 08:02 PM

do you really need his site?

  41. Avatar_profileCherriesamylynnpsyd on Mar 01, 2007 08:02 PM

I feel like an idiot, I don't even know what to do with the list of names...I'm just not seeing anything...

  42. Avatar_profileCherriesLauralee08 on Mar 01, 2007 08:02 PM

[39] but after u figure that out, get the clue... thrn what???? if it doesnt have to do with the monsters page.. im confused.

  43. Avatar_profileCherriesScaven7 on Mar 01, 2007 08:04 PM

[40] you don't really need ze's site at all, just keep the end in mind and you'll get it soon

    oooooh saltyyyy

  44. Avatar_profileWatermelonjericho on Mar 01, 2007 08:04 PM

if you got 13, you should get all 17. Took me a while to get the answer even though I pulled the right letters. Google helped out on that one finally.

  45. Avatar_profileCherriesLauralee08 on Mar 01, 2007 08:08 PM

    ahh. finally!!

  46. Avatar_profileCherriesfwemkfpwoekmf on Mar 01, 2007 08:10 PM

    ...

  47. Avatar_profileCherriesmonkeyhead on Mar 01, 2007 08:13 PM

what do you do after you get the clue?

  48. Avatar_profileLemonJDawg on Mar 01, 2007 08:15 PM

[28], [39] jeez i felt like an idiot once i figured out what your salt was!
Once I had that, [26] did it. Thanks guys.

  49. Avatar_profileCherriesamylynnpsyd on Mar 01, 2007 08:16 PM

    I didn't like that...

  50. Avatar_profileApplekswitz on Mar 01, 2007 08:17 PM

for those of you stuck on the names... Ze tells you to do something nice for all of them. What does he tell you to do??

That being said... still haven't solved it.

  51. Avatar_profileCherriesLhyzz on Mar 01, 2007 08:19 PM

    DANGER SALT AHEAD:

[38] samuel, Ze's site also has a blog.

Also, remember that this is the LAST puzzle.

  52. Avatar_profileLemonJDawg on Mar 01, 2007 08:21 PM

[51] you beat me to the salt lick

  53. Avatar_profileWatermelonBooalready on Mar 01, 2007 08:24 PM

It took you 1 hour, 11 minutes and 25 seconds to solve this puzzle. Oy!

There is salt here, but there are several red herrings about these comments too. I should have just kept working it on my own. I am weak.

Anyway, you don't need Ze's site at all. Well, not for this Last puzzle.

(I kept that log of answers too, but so what? I've many done other unnecessary things that were a heck of a lot less fun.)

  54. Avatar_profileCherriespoetics on Mar 01, 2007 08:24 PM

    that was lame....

  55. Avatar_profileCherriesmitbart on Mar 01, 2007 08:32 PM

It took you 1 hour, 15 minutes and 42 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 142nd Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Average solve time: 23 minutes and 38 seconds.
Median solve time: 17 minutes and 57 seconds.
63.200% of Tanga members that have attempted this puzzle have solved it.

Sheeesh, talk about thinking my way past the obvious on this one. It was a total "duh!" moment when i finally saw it, and i was kicking myself for spending so much time searching out obscure interconnections.

  56. Avatar_profileCherrieshabile_b on Mar 01, 2007 08:33 PM

We all have people to thank, people that have inspired us.
I'd like to say thanks to everyone that's provided salt.

All the salt you need has been spread. Just get the clue before you go googling.

  57. Avatar_profileCherriesS_Grimmer on Mar 01, 2007 08:38 PM

YAY we are entered into a drawing to randomly win now! Do the people who solved all of the puzzles hava a better chance then those that didnt, cause it said whoever solves most of the puzzles are entered. Or am i worng.?

  58. Avatar_profileCherriesScaven7 on Mar 01, 2007 08:43 PM

[57] it's the people who have the MOST ze puzzles solved (ie only those who have all of them completed)

  59. Avatar_profileCherriesS_Grimmer on Mar 01, 2007 08:45 PM

oh so if the most is all then you have to have all to be entered?
i got them all i was just curious.

  60. Avatar_profileCherriesScaven7 on Mar 01, 2007 08:49 PM

    I'd assume so.
Since if us with all completed have 14 ze puzzzles done and other people only have 12 or 13, they certainly don't have the 'most', we do!

  61. Avatar_profileCherriesfhornredmuse on Mar 01, 2007 08:51 PM

I can't get the clue. I can see a connection with almost all of the names, but nothing's clicking, and without the clue, all of the salt above is completely useless to me. Help, anyone?

  62. Avatar_profileCherriespurplemel on Mar 01, 2007 08:51 PM

salt, i need salt! i've got the clue figured out. i just can't seem to find the answer. i've googled and i know where it leads but now what?

  63. Avatar_profileCherriesSooth on Mar 01, 2007 08:56 PM

I'm in the same shoes as purplemel. I'm at the site where the clue leads, but I can't figure out the final answer.

As for the contest, I am not elegible, since I live in Canada :(

You also have to be over 18. All the info is on the main tanga Ze page.

  64. Avatar_profileCherriesCatachresis on Mar 01, 2007 08:58 PM

This reminds me of the first puzzle. For those with no idea, watch the video _very_ carefully, it'll give you a moment of salt.

After that, I think it's fair to say Ze's site is no help (people are noting that he has a blog... well yes; am I missing something here?)

    Google is essential.

  65. Avatar_profileCherriespurplemel on Mar 01, 2007 08:58 PM

    oy i'm slow.
    i finally figured it out.

  66. Avatar_profileCherriesCatachresis on Mar 01, 2007 09:01 PM

If you've found where Google leads you, I'm sure Mr Frank might suggest where the answer is.

  67. Avatar_profileCherriesfhornredmuse on Mar 01, 2007 09:01 PM

OH, DUH. I finally got the clue. And I know exactly what he's talking about in terms of the website. I'm just not sure what the word is supposed to be. Hmmm.

  68. Avatar_profileCherrieskendalljoy on Mar 01, 2007 09:03 PM

    high salt content:

try searching one or two words on ze's site.

  69. Avatar_profileCherriesWatsonne on Mar 01, 2007 09:07 PM

Wow, no idea how to solve this from Ze's site, but Google definitely did it. Weird one!

EDIT - Ah, ok... Searched his site after the fact and found it. I am now realizing I could have made this all MUCH easier on myself.

  70. Avatar_profileCherriesSchlaueKatze on Mar 01, 2007 09:13 PM

Wasn't that a big overture to a small aha! Groan.

You know, the weirdest thing is, you can actually find a movie title for almost any of these names - that kept me thinking for a while until I realized it's sooo much more simple.
Oh well - it's been good! Thanks to Ze and all the smart people on here for salt and puns and all the fun... oh, what are we going to do tomorrow?

  71. Avatar_profileCherriesfhornredmuse on Mar 01, 2007 09:15 PM

I still don't know what the heck the answer is. I seriously need some help. I guess I'm looking too hard?

  72. Avatar_profileCherrieselijahdprophet on Mar 01, 2007 09:19 PM

This is the first of the Ze puzzles that has made me feel like a complete tool.

  73. Avatar_profileCherriesTooMuchTime on Mar 01, 2007 09:21 PM

Who makes these [too salty] (puzzles) up?

  74. Avatar_profileCherriesfhornredmuse on Mar 01, 2007 09:24 PM

    [73] TooMuchTime

OMG...that was the salt I needed. I feel like a retard.

  75. Avatar_profileCherriesTooMuchTime on Mar 01, 2007 09:27 PM

:) You're welcome [74]fhornredmuse. I hope I didn't make it too obvious (that was my first time at giving salt).

  76. Avatar_profileCherriesda_bears on Mar 01, 2007 09:30 PM

I need help, I have the clue but can't figure out the answer!!!

  77. Avatar_profileCherriesTooMuchTime on Mar 01, 2007 09:34 PM

Look at the list of names (I don't know about you but I prefer the text in my lists right aligned). Are you looking at the right site [76] (you don't need the entire clue to find the right site)? The guy who made the site sure is talented, he should enter his name into some sort of competition I'm sure he'd win.

  78. Avatar_profileCherrieselijahdprophet on Mar 01, 2007 09:36 PM

Aha! I finally listened to the actual video instead of relying on the stream of fans yelling FIRST!

I am glad I finally broke the top 300 though :-P

  79. Avatar_profileCherriesda_bears on Mar 01, 2007 09:36 PM

well I know a lot of people found the answer on google?

  80. Avatar_profileCherriesTooMuchTime on Mar 01, 2007 09:46 PM

I modified my last comment, check it out. My comments have so much salt they'll give you high blood pressure.

  81. Avatar_profileStrawberryrobin000 on Mar 01, 2007 09:58 PM

the puzzle leads to a clue which can much more simply be solved using ze's site than googling.

  82. Avatar_profileCherriesreikitavi on Mar 01, 2007 10:02 PM

I'm so confused! I can't figure out the clue in the first place

  83. Avatar_profileCherriesTooMuchTime on Mar 01, 2007 10:09 PM

[82] remember what Ze said this is the LAST puzzle and write a LETTER to each of the names. Those capitalized words in my previous sentence sure would like nice together, anyway I'm digressing. Try my suggestion in the first sentence of comment [77] or if you're still stuck go to boardgamegeek forum someone might have put the clue up there ;)

  84. Avatar_profileCherriescaleb12 on Mar 01, 2007 11:07 PM

Google or ze's site, it doesnt really matter which one you search in, you'll get it if you search the right thing. But i can tell you now, searching for any of the names on the list is a waste of time.

  85. Avatar_profileLemonnanoman on Mar 01, 2007 11:31 PM

For any of you who have made it to the scary site but are still having trouble, here are two salty questions that may bring you closer to a happy ending: 1. What is ze's heritage?; and 2. Where the heck would he have met someone named Gulliver? Okay. These could count as obfuscation too, but if you put the answers together the right way, it will help you see what you're looking past. Press on!

  86. Avatar_profileCherriesphoenixineohp on Mar 02, 2007 03:24 AM

    Ugh.

Last puzzle and all the people's names who you want to write a letter to. Take what you get from that as a question. Input answer from site. Groan when you realize how much you over thought it.

But I will miss this tomorrow. :(

  87. Avatar_profileCherriesAnonymousGirl on Mar 02, 2007 03:43 AM

You know, I just really want to thank everyone who has been so generous throughout this marathon with sprinkles of salt (and even dump trucks of it). I worried when this started that I'd get stuck and stay stuck...but everyone has just been so nice and helpful. Ze knows nice people!

Now, some salt of my own: Tangas often seem to have two distinct parts--you solve one part in order to get the clue for the next. Don't use everyone's salt too soon...save it until you need it!

  88. Avatar_profileCherriesazninsect on Mar 02, 2007 04:36 AM

yay. when i realised what the clue was, i got confused seraching like mad. but then i put a new spin on it and i got it. joy!

50 microliters of ferrofluid in a 1.1 mm gap Hele-Shaw cell with an applied 100 gauss DC axial magnetic field followed by a 20 Gauss uniform in-plane magnetic field rotating clockwise at 25 hertz

Did anyone else end up here, and am i over-thinking it a tad?

  90. Avatar_profileCherriesMonkey44 on Mar 02, 2007 04:48 AM

    Finally got it...

Worst puzzle of the lot, i have to say. Good clue, and then it just sort of fell apart. Shame.

    I'll miss these...

  91. Avatar_profileLemonKarin on Mar 02, 2007 05:34 AM

I'm still stuck on the 20th's puzzle. Anybody that can throw some salt my way? It's my last puzzle!

  92. Avatar_profileCherriesGoocher on Mar 02, 2007 05:46 AM

You were the 370th Tanga member to solve this puzzle. W00t! Better late than never! I could not have done it without you, TooMuchTime! I had the clue, but didn't know what to do with it! [11] Projectyl was a huge help, too. I suck at puzzles, but this was fun - so long as I had salt to help me! Now it's on to the drawing! :)))) Good luck, everyone!!!

  93. Avatar_profileCherrieskendalljoy on Mar 02, 2007 07:28 AM

[91] Karin? Send me an email at kendalljoy at gmail dot com. It may take me some time but I'll help you out.

  94. Avatar_profileCherriesrubyseeds on Mar 02, 2007 07:36 AM

    GOT IT. FINALLY. D:

    Sigh.

  95. MeGrapesgahndalph on Mar 02, 2007 08:14 AM

I got the clue right off, figured out the next part by doing a typical Ze Frank puzzle thing. but the final answer took a giant leap- i still don't know the connection between the answer and the clues from the video.

  96. Sc002a57f6Pumpkinrunart on Mar 02, 2007 09:09 AM

I can't find the giant leap. HELP!!

  97. Avatar_profileCherriessnakus on Mar 02, 2007 10:13 AM

I didn't think it was a giant leap. The easiest way would be to search Ze's Site.

  98. Avatar_profileCherriesIcculus on Mar 02, 2007 11:07 AM

He sure seemed to enjoy saying "Ernesto."

    Good for Ze.

I ended up there as well. I have the clue to the puzzle, but I'm entirely baffled. Been reading Ze for years, but this one leaves me stumped.

  100. Avatar_profileCherrieskameo on Mar 02, 2007 12:26 PM

Ahh, at LAST, this is all finished!
Some lucky creature is going to see Mr. Frank in New York soon!
