[2] Pretty sweet (well, it isn't salty :-)

  5. FileDuckiedavey3 on Mar 06, 2008 07:19 PM

You solved this puzzle in 4 seconds and were the 61st Tanga member to solve it.

    Wow ... it's been a while since I solved a puzzle in 4 seconds.

    Nice puzzle!

I'm not a math geek - had to work at it a little - but a good puzzle!

Interminable does not work in this context. [endless, ceaseless, perpetual] Luckily, the rest was easy enough.

    Glad you all enjoyed it.

    Being an engineer paid off!

  10. FilePeppercyncat on Mar 06, 2008 07:29 PM

    It's clever.

  11. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Mar 06, 2008 07:34 PM

I got it, but I don't see how the puzzle works. I just tried a whole bunch of thins that sort-of related, but the closest I could find from the puzzle was 6.3467, which has absolutely no relation to the answer.

edit: never mind, I just saw it.

awww... [2] did it for me.

You solved this puzzle in 11.00100100001111110110 seconds and don't see any rational way to get the answer.

I was stumped until my 15 year old son looked at it and said MMMM....

  15. FileDuckienrkii on Mar 06, 2008 07:41 PM

Ah, I would have expected this puzzle next week...

  16. FileDuckiedavey3 on Mar 06, 2008 07:51 PM

Publishing a similar type of puzzle last year (see http://www.tanga.com/puzzles/222-1-31-2007) helped me get this one quickly. Nice solution method here.

  17. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Mar 06, 2008 07:52 PM

[16] Ah, I remember this puzzle! It is one of the ones I went back to solve. :)

  18. Avatar_profilePeachdmagoo on Mar 06, 2008 08:06 PM

Great job. Bumped me over 1000 tanga points!

  19. FileRocketAveOscuro on Mar 06, 2008 08:11 PM

My first thoughts lead me to think of Homer Simpson, still not getting it.

  20. FileBananaBobcat on Mar 06, 2008 08:13 PM

    Mmm....

  21. FileRocketAveOscuro on Mar 06, 2008 08:22 PM

I understand that it tastes good, but I'm just not getting it. Is there a particular solve method, or is it just word association?

Got the solve method, but it gives me gibberish

  22. FilePeachsouthaustin on Mar 06, 2008 08:51 PM

You solved this puzzle in 39 seconds and were the 201st Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.

  23. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Mar 06, 2008 10:28 PM

Guessed the answer. Would someone please TG me with how to actually solve..?

EDIT: lol, nm. The usual post-post lightbulb went off for me :)

  24. BarrerahelmSailboatElGrande on Mar 06, 2008 10:17 PM

All the salt here makes this easy, but what is the puzzle?

  25. FilePotatorevchewie on Mar 06, 2008 10:43 PM

I guessed it from FMHG but have no clue as to an actual method of solution...

  26. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Mar 06, 2008 10:46 PM

put me in the "no idea what the puzzle is even though I managed to guess an answer" group. I really don't take pride in being able to guess it or stumble upon it. It generally bothers me when I still can't back solve.

  27. FileRocketAveOscuro on Mar 07, 2008 02:32 AM

Finally solved it, but can someone please explain to me why it's not racata?

  28. Sc002a57f6Pumpkinrunart on Mar 07, 2008 03:06 AM

nice one, scoutmom. special to me as it represents my son's birthday!!

  29. FileAppleSunnydale on Mar 07, 2008 05:04 AM

    wow, nice one

  30. FileGarlicspamwise on Mar 07, 2008 05:13 AM

I, too, am in the "answered, but not really solved" group at the moment. What we really need is the return of the "view solution" option for people who have answered puzzles. From comments above, I know there IS a method to this, but I presently don't see it. There are other nights when there are probably interesting facts and tidbits in the solutions, but I may never see them. Please, Tanga gods, bring back "view solution".

Edit: ... and I got it. Thank you, posting comment genie. But my plea still remains. Bring back View Solution.

  31. Avatar_profileBananatrevelyan on Mar 07, 2008 06:33 AM

I got the answer. But is there an actual solve method other than a word association?

  32. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Mar 07, 2008 07:19 AM

[25] [27] [31] TG sent with solve method.

  33. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Mar 07, 2008 08:35 AM

I just want to say that I am really pleased that my generic salt for the future thread was helpful with this one!

  34. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Mar 07, 2008 08:43 AM

For anyone trying to figure out the solve method (and not already told), think "reverse-tanga" the clues.

  35. FilePlumseasidebruin on Mar 07, 2008 08:55 AM

huh... I was entering numbers until i realized that would be rediculous to try.

  36. FileApplepahool on Mar 07, 2008 10:15 AM

Nice. Too bad the answer is so easy to come up with by guessing. I guessed then reverse-solved like most everyone else. Still a fun one.

  37. FilePumpkinJohn on Mar 07, 2008 10:42 AM

    [32] Me too, please

  38. AvaCarrotdavego on Mar 07, 2008 10:56 AM

There is a math-related day on March 14th

  39. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Mar 07, 2008 11:35 AM

  40. FilePepperChupper on Mar 07, 2008 12:05 PM

I got it by googling the list of words, and found the answer on the net somewhere.

  41. FileKiwidmatos on Mar 07, 2008 02:06 PM

clever. multiple ways to get to answer. figured out the intended methodology after getting the answer.

  42. FilePotatosprrow on Mar 07, 2008 06:14 PM

    Thank you [2]
