You can skip a lot of this and still get the right answer.

EDIT: The last 15 should be a 5.

  2. FileAppleABBAbear on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:06 PM

Wow! I thought this was a little easier than the Easy puzzle tonight.
You solved this puzzle in 1 minute and 50 seconds and were the 4th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 107 points for solving this.

  3. Avatar_profileRadishrmcelroy on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:06 PM

Took a guess based on the images. Not sure how to backsolve, though.

  4. Avatar_profilePlumfnord on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:06 PM

I have no idea where to start searching for that first image.

  5. Avatar_profilePlumfnord on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:09 PM

Oh, and is that a typo in the upper right clue?

  6. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:09 PM

    11th!

  7. FilePotatoDevin8r on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:10 PM

Top ten on both tonight! It pays not to put the kids to bed on time.

  8. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:11 PM

Elizabeth Taylor made me so sad when she almost messed it up...too salty?

  9. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:13 PM

[5] Seems to me that the last 15 should be a 5.

  10. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:16 PM

anyone notice that one word is spelled wrong??

  11. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:16 PM

Finally got it. The background pic gave it to me!
hint: the first image isn't ziplock :-)

  12. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:16 PM

[9] Yep, it sure should be.

  13. FileGarlicHope2002 on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:16 PM

Oops, typo...and yes [10] someone mentioned it. I don't have the image on this computer, so I can't change it from here. The last 15 should be a 5.

  14. FileSailboattrumanj on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:19 PM

    nice puzzle hope,

i like that you and Ducky got published the same day

  15. FilePumpkinperihelion on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:19 PM

Nice, but the binary code was a pill for us non-programmers.

  16. FileRocketAveOscuro on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:19 PM

My first top 100! Fun if you know what you're looking at

  17. FileClockJewelia on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:20 PM

[13} Thanks for clarifying--I assumed it was an important distinction.

  18. FileRocketAveOscuro on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:20 PM

And I suppose even if you don't

  19. PonyguncropBananaPony on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:21 PM

Got it from just the pictures. :)

  20. PumpkinEggCrazyKids on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:23 PM

I got it from the first two pictures. Could someone tangagram me and explain the rest?

  21. Donimo_pirate_beatlesEggDonimo on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:23 PM

    [11] Thanks!
[13] You should have had this test solved :)

  22. FileGarlicHope2002 on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:24 PM

I thought Ducky's was harder than mine. We weren't here when they went up, sorry for the mistake. I just had my computer die on me, so the image is gone.

  23. FileEggplantjtotheh on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:30 PM

Even if you don't replace the 15 with a 5, it sorta works out phonetically.

  24. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:31 PM

    [20] - sent you a t-gram.

  25. FileGarlicHope2002 on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:32 PM

[21] I just made it yesterday, and that is when my computer started acting funky. Luckily it was through work, they had more laptops, and it is under warranty. Who said Macs are no trouble? (that will start a war that Ducky will love to fight!)

  26. FilePeppercyncat on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:34 PM

    Thanks [11].

  27. FilePotatogoingboeing on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:37 PM

I got it, but I'm still not sure why.

  28. FilePlumMogri on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:39 PM

    You need new friends. :(

  29. FileDuckieescKey on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:40 PM

Wife guessed it. I had the wrong "common letter". And I didn't get the the right result from the binary. Could someone TG me the binary solution?

  30. FileGarlicBlueDevilDucky on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:49 PM

    [29] TG sent...well...sending in a second.

  31. FileGarlicBlueDevilDucky on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:52 PM

[21] My bad. I test solved. Once I got to "Most common let..." I knew what it was going to say. Being the test solver, I should have covered every base. I just solved it the way I would have solved any puzzle and took a short cut.

Not to worry, I learned something from this experience and I won't let Hope have a typo again.

  32. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:54 PM

I have four things... none of which am I sure are right... they don't seem to be meshing well.

  33. FileAppledingo262 on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:55 PM

Any salt for what the second picture is? I keep thinking it's an upturned lamp...

  34. FileSailboattrumanj on Thu Jan 31, 2008 07:58 PM

[31] i did same thing, didn't notice the error until I read the comments.

  35. FileSailboattrumanj on Thu Jan 31, 2008 08:02 PM

    [33] Ask again later

    shakes, i mean

    Reply hazy, try again

    shakes, i mean

    yes - definitely

  36. Avatar_profileStrawberrysmgmatt on Thu Jan 31, 2008 08:06 PM

I solved the puzzle but still don't know how the second picture works in the puzzle (should've just entered my guess early on, but I didn't see how it fit). I solved all 3 other portions (and at first I thought the typo was part of the puzzle), but was stuck on that darn "light". Could someone TG me the explanation of that second image? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Never mind, [35]'s salt above just opened my eyeballs.

  37. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Thu Jan 31, 2008 08:06 PM

Omigosh... guessed it after the top two clues... something to crow about!

  38. FileAppledingo262 on Thu Jan 31, 2008 08:10 PM

[35] Thanks! Was playing pool too much, I think =^P

  39. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Thu Jan 31, 2008 08:40 PM

huh? I'm not sure how the binary means what it appears to mean once everything else is accounted for.

Edit... nevermind... I see it. boy that was a mixed bag of solve methods.

  40. FileSailboattrumanj on Thu Jan 31, 2008 08:15 PM

    [39] google ascii

  41. FileStrawberrysmilingra on Fri Feb 01, 2008 11:53 AM

Very slick... of course, look at my profile on BGG:

  42. FileAppledlandon2000 on Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:37 PM

I get a few different answers when looking for the most common

  43. FileAppledlandon2000 on Fri Feb 01, 2008 01:57 PM

Ok got it... if you solve this more as a cryptopix than a OWW it makes more sense.

  44. Avatar_profilePeachvbruss on Tue Dec 14, 2010 03:01 PM

Thanks to [11] for the "not ziploc" salt.
