Punctuation seemed correct to me. I guessed this one immediately on the first picture.

What punctuation problem are you seeing? The only punctuation belongs there. Contractions have apostrophes.

[9] I think the punctuation problem is that in puzzles sometimes it is there sometimes it is not, and many of us (or at least me) choose the wrong one first.

I really need to learn to recognize what's in that first image. Every time I see it, I think it's an ice pick. They look very similar.

  15. FileWatermelonchidizzle on Wed Feb 13, 2008 08:43 PM

    the apostrophe!!!!!!!

  16. FileAppleSunnydale on Thu Feb 14, 2008 05:28 AM

    Nice

[13] I think it's up to the puzzlemaker to ensure correct punctuation. I for one appreciate that Hope did so, and I always submit my first answer assuming it should be correct. I think it's kind of ridiculous if people complain about an answer having correct punctuation!

  18. FileGarlicHope2002 on Thu Feb 14, 2008 06:44 AM

[17] I thought so. I guess "damned if you do" applies.

    nevermind...

  21. FileCarrotpitamuffin on Thu Feb 14, 2008 08:46 AM

[18] Kudos for correct punctuation. It is beyond ridiculous that people complain about proper punctuation being used. What's next, complaining when the answer is actually spelled correctly?

  22. FileGrapesMarek21 on Thu Feb 14, 2008 10:00 AM

I think it is more that a lot of puzzles get submitted with bad punctuation, so when it is actually done right it throws people for a loop.

I don't think anyone is complaining about hope's correct use of punctuaction, it seems more that people are just frustrated at punctuation itself, lol.

I did the same thing. I didn't put the apostraphe in when I thought I had it and was like, "Argh, punctuation got me again!"

I guess it's a bigger deal for people who actually try and solve these when they come up, instead of the next day at work ;)

don't get how bottom right fits the phrase
