Sweet... Nice one Monacle!
Fun!
I had my 16 year old daughter help me tonight - 7th on this one & 2nd on Crypto - best ever! You know who will be helping me from now on! LOL
is the final step an anagram?
I object to the last step. It changes the pattern that has been established by the other clues and blatantly leaves part on the table. You should not end up with the answer you get.
[5] NO
that last clue SOUNDS different
I end up with 8 letters, though I think it's supposed to be 9. And neither works.
[8] Yes, but that's the point. None of the other clues went by sound, although they could have. Why did this one break the pattern?
[9] You have the correct number of letters
[10] it was the best compromise I could come up with to eliminate a mildly offensive first version. I thought it was sneaky in a Tangaesque way. sorry.
I thought I did this right, but it's not going through. Hrm. I also have 8 letters, but it also feels wrong. I'm missing something.
sorry, canada is not correct.
nor is adamanc
For those still struggling... keep in mind that none of the clues have letters out of order... and I mean none of 'em.
[12] I'll take partial blame for redirecting you from your original method... though there's no telling whether you'd have received any less flack for that. lol
[17] probably not... we all love to hate! :)
stupid
[19] don't be too hard on yourself... other had trouble too. ;)
Going step by step still gives adamanc
[21] Just get rid of "em", not "e" and "m".
I'm still doing something wrong, can't figure out what.
I can say I'm not getting adamanc, though. I might be interpreting one clue far too literally.
Ah, got it. I was following the third clue way too literally.
I agree with soccer ref.
