Punctuation is as shown :)
dang it! for some reason i used under!!!! but still 35th...
would help if I could spell!
creepyish
I got the phrase, but I still don't get it.
[1] and so is the blessed number :(
why would you use the number 18 when it's in the puzzle??
Very bad the punctuation is not as shown in fact it is redundant.
107th, after typing at least 15 permutations of the correct phrease. Sheesh!
[5] wow, you are a beautiful person for not understanding this.
Would have gotten it a lot sooner if it wasn't for something so small. Kinda weird.
it is creepy
This just might be the worst puzzle ever...on many levels...
dude, no one looks their age anymore...it's an appropriate question sometimes
[6], [7] and [9] I agree. This was not a good puzzle.
5 minutes and 59 seconds of playing "guess the formating"
I really wish all punctuation would be omitted from Cryptopi.
Cryptopix puzzles are solved by putting the pictures together to form a word or phrase!
PICTURES!!!!!!!!!
lame.
wow. just...wow.
still cant get it... i know the answer but like everyone else, ive tried almost every combination of punctuation
someone TG me please?
[20] Really? You want to know what punctuation symbol to use? Are you sure? Really sure?
So I have to use the number 18 and the question mark even though they are in the puzzle. And to top it off, there is a question mark after the text box - dumb
I knew the answer before I clicked the link but it still took me 3 minutes of trying different permutations. Just a note, the last words are 2 words and not a compound word or hyphenated.
Why doesn't this system allow the creator to put in several possible answers to help avoid these kinds of problems?
again, why do people insist on using the incorrect punctuation?
on top of it using numbers and letters.
Gah! 1 minute and 30 seconds of typing out "eighteen", but variant spellings and punctuations of the last minute.
That's wrong.
[15] I agree too, I usually skip awful puzzles even if it means I lose a few Tanga pts...
Easiest one I've ever done. Thanks!
I don't understand why people are getting bent out of shape about "incorrect punctuation."
I told you to use what you saw, it's right there.
The solution is a question. The text box asks the question if you have the solution correct, in essence you are asking, "Is 'Question?' correct?" Hence, the punctuation in the solution.
[21] Wheee! One person was happy with it! You're welcome, shorty21 :)
I was definitely more upset by the number not being spelled out in the answer than I was by the missing comma. The fact that the last two words are often hyphenated only added to the confusion. Not to mention that the next-to-last word can be correctly spelled another way.
That's why the suggestion in [24] probably wouldn't help. There were just too many possible forms for the answer to this puzzle.
The Tanga person or people who selected this puzzle should have realized that determining the intended form of the answer would be a problem.
Doesn't the "pix" in Cryptopix stand for pictures. Where are the pictures?
Figured it out before I even clicked on it. Easiest puzzle yet. Too bad 8 seconds only scored 10 pts. Sigh.
You solved this puzzle in 19 seconds...
[32] You must be able to type really fast!
I also had the answer before I clicked on it.
We need a new rating on this site, to indicate properly what a steaming load this was.
[29] I solved this puzzle in 39 seconds and was the 37th Tanga member to solve it, I earned 74 points for solving it.
I liked it, thought it was a pretty good puzzle Ashe2000. Sorry you got so much grief over this one.
i've got it but it won't take my answer...
Can't please all the people all the time I suppose. Seemed like a fine lil' puzzle to me.
[30] The puzzle answer was correct in not spelling out the number. You are only supposed to spell numbers under 10 in a sentence, or any number at the beginning of a sentence. For example, "Eighteen puzzles in a row had 18 steps each, but I prefer puzzles with nine or fewer."
I do think this puzzle needed a comma, though.
yes, it was a fine puzzle. But it is legitimate to voice your frustration over knowing the answer but not being able to "align the ducks" the same way the creator did. This was easy to vocalize since there *is* just one audible answer. But the written answer can take on several forms. The puzzle becomes a mind bender on how many different ways can you write the same thing. When the first thing doesn't take... you start running down the list of possible changes: comma or no comma; question mark or not;hyphen or not; numbers or not. The more variables you have to alter, the more mind bending it gets. In my opinion (which is worth even less than Tanga points) using the number not spelled out in the answer would be equal to having the last word spelled in the answer just like it is spelled in the puzzle...
But oh the memories this brings back... so thanks for that too! :)
Hahaha! Always make sure you check the ID
You are a freaking genius!! You solved this puzzle.
You solved this puzzle in 14 seconds and were the 502nd Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.
I liked it ok, though this was the first time it seemed like a puzzle was trying to feel me up.
[38] I'm no expert but all the sources I found on the (admittedly not always accurate) internet state the rules a bit differently. Being a single, non-clunky word, it is acceptable to write out eighteen in the middle of a sentence. But it is not really that important.
[29] is absolutely correct. The question mark after the solution is not part of the solution - it applies to a different question.
People need to calm the heck down about punctuation. I thought as a puzzle this was pretty fun, although as a concept it did give me the creeps.
you mean dont type out 18 in letters?
DOH!
well..only 2nd published puzzle, they'll get better :o)
[me] "Hey, I understand this one! Maybe all these puzzles aren't stupid hard after all!
- tries different permutations for 5 minutes
"scew this crap, i'm just coming here for deals"
Ashe2000, you should appologize that you didnt use a picture of Hannah Montana.
good grief people. get. over. the. punctuation.?!
whine whine whine.
At least its not a OWW that uses the same old formula over and over and over again.
Submitter forgot the first part of the quote... "B4I4Q"
[47] Lol, I never heard that part of it.
[48] I thought it was implicit in the question. :)
personally, i would have made the puzzle start with:
RU
-----
XVIII
but then, that's just me :)
[50] I would've gone with:
RU
-----
17+1
to really add that extra level of difficulty :p
30
-------
(ru/18)
would have gotten it sooner, but the "?" at the end of the box is not the "?" at the end of the phrase
I knew the answer right away. However I didn't know I had to put the "?" mark in since it was already next to the answer box.
a Cryptoped?
thanks for leaving off the "before I screw you", part. Nothing like pedophilia humor!
Lame. Wonder if I could get some regurgitated tshirt wisdom published here.
I think this is a fun one. I hafta agree with [39] & [46]. Maybe it's time for new blood at tanga, new ideas, expand our horizons - instead of the whiny, "This is not the way we've always done it." Thank God, George Washington and those other rebels he hung with didn't think that way or we'd still be a territory of Great Britain! :)
