Just to clarify for those who have not solved the puzzle and would like to, there is an intended solution not dependent on guesswork which has been salted (most directly in [31]).
[35] I should probably have been more specific that it does not require the alphabet grid, which is what I always think of when mentioning "Tanga Numbers".

Weird. The spelling looks off on the 4th box on the second line. :^)
(Not salt.)

Argghh!! "Trial and error" as part of the solve method?!? That's no solution. It's a guess-lution.

argh. nothing is making any sense. There's too many numbers and I don't know which ones to use!

[14] I figured out the solve method by looking at it; it was the first thing I tried and it seemed to fit well. Eight letters later, I had the answer.

[14] consider that you have letters and directions for their use.

Out of fairness to the puzzle, there's no real need for trial and error, just observation about the numbers.

Having solved the puzzle, I feel that [23] telling [22] you don't need tanga numbers is pretty misleading, bordering on incorrect.
Also, I agree that you don't have to do this by trial and error, and that re-listing the numbers can give you a much easier way to look at them.
Great puzzle TinTin!

Very tasty puzzle. Even though I have oatmeal every morning. :)
I think trial and error is definitely misplaced. There is quite definitely a pattern in the numbers.

I'm still not seeing the pattern. I can group the items into eight groups, but can't figure out where to go from there. TG anyone?
Edit: Got it. Thanks Tintin. I was stuck on the eight groups and spelling all kinds of words in some language other than English.
