I understand the puzzle, but am clueless on the pants. :(
EDIT: But I guess well. :)
Care to share the AHA? :)
Nice puzzle, but I think the two pants pics are too similar - I'm more familiar with D being a bit more form-fitting.
Any salt on the pants?
Clever idea. But the picture choices for B and D could have been better examples.
If you've made it to the pants, wager a guess...just don't click SUBMIT too much, might get worn out.
The pants are not good examples of their types.
Yeah, what [7] said, the pants are not good examples. Otherwise, pretty simple.
Too hard to pinpoint what the author is looking for with both B & D. Synonyms for pants / shorts / legwear are myriad. Of course if that's not "shirt" for A then this whole thing is somewhat moot. Still surprised this has more solves by now than Hard, which just takes busy work but no real tricks. :)
Finally! Where is the answer? lol
As other's have said, the picture for B is not actually an exemplar, and the picture for D is not an examplar, either. My first guess is that the puzzle author is a guy. :-)
So, if B and D really aren't good examples of what the clues are, how are we supposed to figure out what they stand for?
Shirt-hat-pants-pants doesn't do much for me.
Edit: got D by google image searching what I thought B was! :-) Still no clue on B
Edit: another lucky guess on B. Also, had the completely wrong answer for the hat, but luckily, the proper letter was in the correct location for my guess, so it still worked!
fasionable? what's that?
I had part of it and just took a lucky guess. I agree about pix B and D. All I could think of at first was J. Peterman. :)
[12] helped me get D. Now I need some inspiration for B. I tried randomly guessing everything to fill in that blank in my answer and got nowhere, which may mean that shirt isn't right either. Silly puzzle addiction, torturing me with mean things like this :)
I didn't even know the origin of the fourth one. Learned something? :)
They are good examples - problem is it would be easier to tell the difference if they were on models.
B is definitely not what the puzzle maker says it is. It is actually a better example for d than the pic for d is.
