[4] I'll share my quick method for indexing into long phrases in puzzles:
- Paste word/phrase into text editor.
- Type "1234567890" underneath.
- Copy and paste numbers as many times as needed.
- Lookup letters rather than count to them.
I usually do a "tens" column (well, row) above the numbers, but you don't have to. As long as your phrase is right, you won't make counting mistakes.

[8] Did you get it right the first time? I missed the punc, had to wait several seconds to be told I was wrong, and then entered the right answer and still got 8th.

I must be missing something obvious. I've used the numbers as indeces to the text (both with and without the pink text) but I haven't gotten anything yet.

[13] thanks. I got it in about 12 seconds (plus another minute for counting) after reading your clue. I'm really happy that I interpreted the last number correctly, as well :-)

I sometimes will just paste into Notepad++ and hit CR after each letter, then the line number will be the index...
[13] true, but be careful where you look. First place I looked had some errors which gave me gibberish.

Anybody can use google to get an answer - even me :)
I would say this puzzle is impossible to solve without looking something up, which isn't that cool in my opinion.
