Tough to figure out where to start, but once you find it, it solves fast.

[2] I see where you would get the guess, but HOW did you think to guess that, of all things?

[4] I don't want to be too salty, but a particular wikipedia article plus the cartouche lead me to it. Although, I was surprised that it worked.

It's a really nice puzzle; I'm kind of sorry I missed half a step in there that made it even more elegant than I thought.

I guessed based on [5]'s lead. I think my D&D playing helped me again in these puzzles. :)
