I always enjoy it when I can use my mad D&D skills for one of these puzzels!!!
Just a suggestion ... the items in the middle don't really stand out. I didn't even notice them at first until I started reading the comments. Something that might help would be some sort of white border around the items to highlight that they are there.
Once I realized what I was looking at? I like.
