But it points out a problem -- it *is* a dashed line (or, perhaps, a hyphened line). For it to be some other kind of line, it would have to be made up of some other thing.
Wow... the answer is simple, but there's way too much going on with the bike guy. Just look at the forest there, not the trees. And I agree with the line comments: that's just the wrong thing to put there.

You need to come up with what and where.

Wow . . . 39 people got it so far, so it must be me. I don't even know where to start.
I can assume the dashed line is there for a reason. Is the fact that there are 27 dashes important?

[10] The number of dashes is not important.

The number of dashes are not important. But perhaps you might want to call it something besides a "dashed line"

[10] the number of dashes is irrelevant.

[12] Thanks. That gave it to me immediately.

So, a mild boo on this one.

Well it isn't "..." Edited for perceived saltiness, post and solve strikes again
EDIT - [1] I was wondering when someone would reference that method.

[14] I agree. But I think that for most people, when you refer to it, that's what most people call it.

[14] I agree as well. That is definitely the wrong kind of line.

I saw the movie Hancock recently... the title character, John, was really pretty funny. Good puzzle.

should definitely not have used a dashed line for this puzzle.

[26] i agree the sign used is way too fantastic to see beyond it, and the line could have just as easily been made using periods rather than hyphens.
beyond that... cool puzzle
