Nicely done. I guessed the second step from the background but, after reading the solution, I see how it was clued.

I don't think that #1 fits with the rest of the clues because you have to anagram the letters - there's no reason to have them in a particular order otherwise. Other than that, I really liked the puzzle.

The arrow on the first shows the order of the letters---no need to anagram. Clever puzzle.
