I thought it might be layers of something, like dirt or clay, but I have never seen red and blue dirt before.
I got it from the last 2 pics. I don't see how to get the right meaning for the first one, except, in a very cryptic way, that it is left of the middle.
Is this puzzle labeled correctly as a crypto?

The first picture is very generic. It is what it looks like has been done to the paper in the picture.

I kept going in circles, saying the right word, just not the right pronunciation.
A crypto CAN be one word, by definition.
And this puzzle was definitely not made for people who live in trailer parks.

I got stuck on the first pic. Didn't consider it to be in the past. Once I came to my senses it was easy from there on.

Ahhhh! I am sorry to leave you guys hanging I was away from computer for a few days!! Scoutmom came to the rescue great salt from her. The first picture is of paper and what is being done to it. Past tense.
