despite "fruit chews" not being as step it still led me to the answer. In fact I think it might have gotten me there quicker.

Since this is a math type equation, putting something in parenthesis made me assume you wanted us to multiply the letter before it. Not very consistent in the delivery. You use the animal and include the directions to switch the letters for that part of the equation, then use the candy and put the directions in parenthesis seperate from the item.

[12] I look forward to solving one of your puzzles soon using this fancy "math" you speak of. :)

Obi-Wan: [with a small wave of his hand] You don't need to see his identification.
Stormtrooper: We don't need to see his identification.
Obi-Wan: These aren't the droids you're looking for.
Stormtrooper: These aren't the droids we're looking for.
Obi-Wan: He can go about his business.
Stormtrooper: You can go about your business.
    Obi-Wan: Move along.

[12] I think the parentheses around the animal and subsequent letter switch are to clarify that the switch applies only to that part of the clue, not some other part as might be possible to assume without the parentheses.
More an order of operations indicator than an indication of implied operations (such as multiplication).

[11] I'm assuming that the mispelling in the name of the bounty hunter is intentional? Otherwise the irony of being incorrect in a correction is pretty overwhelming :)

it might have been easier to show us which letters of the alphabet weren't involved!
