[1] Enigmatic, to say the least... oh, wait, you already did that. :)

  3. FileEggRPardoe on Sat Apr 19, 2008 09:57 AM

Went the wrong way with one of the clues at first.

  4. FileClockmust67 on Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:16 AM

whose the girl or is that importanr

  5. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:17 AM

[2] You can't delete and I was having trouble rephrasing myself. Basically, there are a few that I would disagree with, though one is commonly used on puzzles here.

  6. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:17 AM

[4] Character is important. Isn't it always? ;)

  7. Avatar_profileAppleClaireLA on Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:18 AM

I assume she's important. She's a character from the Addams Family. I'm getting nowhere.

  8. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:55 AM

Maybe your unable to concentrate because of noise. Quieter would be better.

You could go a couple of different ways with the third clue. Same with the girl's name.

This puzzle theme is always a bit controversial.

  10. FileEggRPardoe on Sat Apr 19, 2008 11:25 AM

The more I think about it - the more I must state - the third clue is just plain wrong.

  11. FilePeppercyncat on Sat Apr 19, 2008 11:58 AM

Thosw, I was just looking at your old puzzles. I remember doing the "cut and fold" one, back in January 2007. That was cool!

And the record showed that I was the 16th to finish in 18 minutes. I was so proud of myself, then. Fond memories. :)

  12. FilePepperdajagr on Sat Apr 19, 2008 12:23 PM

[10] Agreed. There's only one in that clue, and it's not the one that's used.

  13. FilePeppercyncat on Sat Apr 19, 2008 12:37 PM

Haha! Three topics of conversation that never have closure: religion, politics, and this theme.

somebody throw some salt my way, I am stumped! oh heck just tell me what it is;-)

  15. FileEggRPardoe on Sat Apr 19, 2008 04:19 PM

I'd love to tell you...but the title tells me Shhhhh! so you might not hear what I tell you.

[10] [12] I'll argue as well that 3rd clue is just wrong - set me back a long time - unless I've forever "ronounced" it wrong...

  17. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Sat Apr 19, 2008 07:33 PM

[16] I agree totally. The 3rd clue has TWO possible answers.

  18. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Sat Apr 19, 2008 08:14 PM

[16] Thank you. Finally heard what I'd been missing.

  19. LadybugAppleDocbug on Sat Apr 19, 2008 11:32 PM

Doh. Had the wrong possible answer for both the 2nd & 3rd clues.

    Booooo on #3.

  21. Panda-flyGarlicpandapal on Sun Apr 20, 2008 06:08 PM

Third clue is most definitely wrong. No one pronounces the "P". Bad, bad, bad.....

  22. Avatar_profileGrapesaetheros on Mon Apr 21, 2008 03:01 PM

I pronounce the supposedly silent letter in the third clue. It would have worked better with a kind of fish (but some people pronounce that one, too).

  23. FileRadishThosw on Mon Apr 21, 2008 05:58 PM

    Mea Culpa on #3!

In my haste to find a word with the requisite clue, I completely missed the fact that two of them fit the bill.

As it is, I've still never heard anybody pronounce either.

  24. FileEggplantouredman on Thu Apr 24, 2008 06:31 PM

I'd have to say over a majority of people pronounce the L.
