    Ugh, no clue....

  2. FilePepperhairy_lime on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:05 PM

    Fun!

  3. FileClockmust67 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:08 PM

    Muy bueno!

  4. FileEggGamesX4 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:09 PM

Knew exactly what to do , but took me a few minutes to find it.

  5. FractalEggdduensing on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:10 PM

got the significance of the green star... and the word I come up with is 9 letters instead of 10

    hmmm....still puzzled.

    NM...didn't do step 2.

  6. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:10 PM

[5] That's right. Now do the next step.

  7. 100_1703Raspberrysonjahi on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:13 PM

    That was awesome! Thanks, chupper!

  8. Avatar_profileCarrotmmene on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:21 PM

Depressing to see all you folks who have this figured out. I think I know how the 10 got there but thats all.

    Update:
With a bit of googling I figured out the first part the easy way - without relying on the clues. The second part was not a big leap. Don't wan't to say too much more for fear of giving it all away.
And now that I can see the trail of clues it was very clever - well done chupper.

  9. Avatar_profileRocketTechmage on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:15 PM

I'm with you [8], the 10 suggests maybe some other numbers, but none of my ideas of what to do with them have been worthwhile.

  10. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:15 PM

[8] The ten is part of the second step.

  11. Bp3Raspberryendel3 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:16 PM

[8], [9], you guys are ahead of me...still no clue...

  12. Avatar_profileRocketTechmage on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:17 PM

[11] I don't know if finding a dead end counts as progress, 'cause if the 10 is a second step, I don't see a first ;)

  13. FractalEggdduensing on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:21 PM

If you know what the green star signifies, you've done step one...

otherwise, you'll need to use your Tanga-Fu skills on the word lists shown to do step 1.

  14. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:17 PM

    [12] TG sent

  15. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:19 PM

[13] I didn't know what the green star was, but got it anyway.

  16. Avatar_profileWatermelonbrinkoftime on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:19 PM

Hmm any more salt on the green star?

  17. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:21 PM

[16] You don't need the star. Just work the words at the top, then do the 2nd step at the bottom.

  18. HeadshotRadishjeanerz13 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:21 PM

at least i did well in the cryptopix...

  19. ShoshanaAcemkant on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:22 PM

Took me a while to figure out that the horizontal rule is not division. This broke an otherwise well-designed puzzle.

  20. FilePancakestempus42 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:25 PM

The 4th line seems to be ambiguous, but I could be wrong. The right answer is NOT the first one you get from google. Fortunately, I didn't really need that line anyway...

  21. Avatar_profilePlumxtalviper on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:37 PM

    Very nice, just difficult enough

  22. HeadshotRadishjeanerz13 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:38 PM

ahhhh I'm so close I can taste it!!! just gotta figure out what the *second step* is

  23. Avatar_profileBananaskittle1120 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:42 PM

I wish I knew what the first step was...

  24. PotstickersKiwi62mackinnon on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:46 PM

[20] I had the same problem with the 4th, and it's true for the 6th line as well, in a way.

  25. UntitledPepperarecords on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:49 PM

[22] What's the one number on the board that hasn't been used in step one? Combine your answer for step one with that number.

  26. HeadshotRadishjeanerz13 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 08:00 PM

[25] I'm not sure what you mean combine my answer with that number. I tried adding the letter associated to the end and it didn't work...I also tried spelling it out at the end...that didn't work...I also tried looking up the translation for that number in the given language (from step one) and adding that to the end...that didn't work...

Nevermind I got it. I thought I had tried this one already...apparently not

  27. Avatar_profileStrawberrybdailey7280 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 07:58 PM

    never understood these. goodnight all.

  28. FileEggMurdoctor on Sun Feb 21, 2010 08:56 PM

[20][24] The accent on the 4th line differentiates it from the other possibility. Unfortunately, the accent doesn't affect the Google search.

[24] I can't find any alternative options for the 6th line, other than the one desired.

  29. HeadshotRadishjeanerz13 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 10:27 PM

[28] There is another option that shares "jeden" but not the other two. I think that might be what [24] meant when he said it's true for line 6 "in a way"

  30. FileApplenkpham on Sun Feb 21, 2010 10:53 PM

it took me a little bit cuz i got the 4th one wrong... i believe there are two answers for that one. nice puzzle!

  31. MeKiwipadlocksan on Mon Feb 22, 2010 12:06 AM

I don't see this one at all. My initial attempts have gotten me no where.
Since 125 folks have already solved it, I'll just sleep on and try again in the morning.

  32. FileGarlicChupper on Mon Feb 22, 2010 06:44 AM

If anyone's having trouble with the first step, it might take some bold actions to solve

  33. MeKiwipadlocksan on Mon Feb 22, 2010 01:51 PM

Yep, I still haven't made it passed a first step.

Given that the BOLD words are numbers in different languages, I assume, we are supposed to be counting something.
    But what?

    [minutes later]
    EEP! I got it.
"13 hours, 52 minutes and 11 seconds and were the 173rd Tanga member to solve it."

  34. Bp3Raspberryendel3 on Mon Feb 22, 2010 02:26 PM

This one has really displayed my idiocy....Finally got step one after help [13], [14] (thanks BTW), now SURE I have step one right, got the flag, etc., and can't STILL for the life of me figure out what to do with the stupid 10...ARGGGGHHHHH

NM, got it ... I really am an idiot! Apply, rather than combine....step 1 to step 2...

  35. KittylolxRocketjohanna on Tue Feb 23, 2010 11:00 AM

Sniffle. I am so clueless. I have no idea what the green star means even after Googling. I know what language each line is and I see that some of the numbers are in Bold type. Other than that, nothing. Somebody please TG me with a hint to get me started. [36] My sentiments exactly.
Finally got it after having the wrong language on line four. Spelling good for more than one Scandinavian language. Still don't get the green star though.

  36. Avatar_profileOrangekashmirton on Mon Feb 22, 2010 05:01 PM

don't have a clue. steps? green star? wtf?

  37. Vuagpic1StrawberryChrismas007 on Mon Feb 22, 2010 05:16 PM

"You solved this puzzle in 16 hours, 37 minutes and 26 seconds and were the 184th Tanga member to solve it."

Wow... connections FINALLY made... You don't even need the "Step 1" if you can figure out what the star means! :P :P :P

  38. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Mon Feb 22, 2010 06:02 PM

(in my best Shatner impression) I... showed up... late... for this one, but I'm... glad I came.

  39. MeKiwipadlocksan on Mon Feb 22, 2010 06:19 PM

only got meaning of the green Star after got the answer.

  40. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Mon Feb 22, 2010 06:51 PM

    2nd step??
    10???
    WHat???

  41. Avatar_profileSailboatcdavis124 on Mon Feb 22, 2010 07:40 PM

Found out two different possible answers for two of the clues in the first step.

  42. MrcleanApplebderrick on Tue Feb 23, 2010 08:36 PM

With all the criticism you dish out Chupper to other's puzzles I'm surprised you publish puzzles yourself, especially when the 4th line has two perfectly acceptable answers.

  43. FileGarlicChupper on Thu Feb 25, 2010 01:20 PM

[42] I make puzzles and accept criticism of my puzzles, and provide feedback on other puzzles. We can't improve if people don't point out areas of improvement. Where are your submitted puzzles?

4th line only has one correct answer, the accent mark is there for a reason.

  44. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Thu Feb 25, 2010 11:51 PM

[40] "unu du tri" it is not the answer ...
    OIC

  45. ShirlRadishshirl60 on Fri Aug 13, 2010 08:38 PM

    Uugh...did not like

  46. FileOnionPatanga on Fri Sep 02, 2011 08:05 PM
