It's a pretty southern phrase. I just wasn't sure if the spelling would be the same.

Not just Southern - we had 'em in Wyoming, too.

This is not a great puzzle, since I've never heard of such a saying. It was just persistence and guessing.

Actually, I'm from Pennsylvania, and I grew up with the phrase in question.

I almost had it by guessing, but was typing it wrong. Instead...I got it by using my peripheral vision while scrolling down the page. It felt wrong typing the answer in.

Born in Alabama and known this phrase all my life. We also call them Frog Stranglers here in Houston.
