Not that it's so hard, but the B=L is a little misleading.

[2] & [3] precisely, I think the first picture could have been replaced with a picture of a lion or perhaps more subtly a large segment of pipe. Putting a picture of the state up there is like following it up with a picture of the crustacean in question.

Wee my first puzzle solved on Tanga =)
[2] The B=L is a pretty standard way here to change one letter of the implied word. And OK, the next puzzle uses an arrow but I've still seen the = sign before.
Maine should have been a combination of something. A picture of the actual word shouldn't be used. Like numbers in pictionary.
I think the B=L is not used properly, should probably apply to the entire thing
