  3. FileBananaDBMechanic on Feb 03, 2010 07:02 PM

Got it quickly, but spelling it took me down to 64th. Fun!

Usually I spell them wrong and go from #3 to #64 or #101. THIS one I spell right <rotflmao>. Number 3 today.

hmm never heard of it but i guess fairly straightforward if you know what that is.
salt, it's important you know that the animals in the last picture are not fully grown

  12. ImagesPepperracheal0101 on Feb 03, 2010 07:18 PM

[9] me too. That was slightly unfair

  13. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Feb 03, 2010 07:19 PM

Probably helps to be of a certain age or have parents of a certain age to have heard of this.

  14. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Feb 03, 2010 07:25 PM

[9] [12] Funny, I googled the first term and the answer is right at the top of the page as a suggestion, BEFORE the rock band description.

    Thanks [2]!!!!!!!

Woo Hoo - one I knew right away and didn't have to struggle for! But then, I am a dinosaur - this was current for me when I was a kid. Thanks, Philana!

  18. WaddamsAppledroopy on Feb 03, 2010 08:00 PM

Although I never had heard of this, I got it very quickly thanks soley to the salt in [2].

  19. Avatar_profileStrawberrybdailey7280 on Feb 03, 2010 08:18 PM

WOW!! 1897 that is kind of old. Way before my time!!!!!

  20. FrontGrapeskermitjagger on Feb 03, 2010 10:44 PM

The spelling on that was truly awful.

  21. ScottOnionoberjt on Feb 04, 2010 03:56 AM

Well, I've tried about 20 variants on spelling, and nothing is working. FRUSTRATING!

  22. Avatar_profilePeachTheungry on Feb 04, 2010 07:29 AM

[17] not if you have never heard of it. There is no conceivable way I would have solved this puzzle without [2]'s salt and google.

  23. Cubs-logoKiwijthommarson on Feb 04, 2010 07:31 AM

never heard of it...thanks for the salt [2]

  24. 100_1627GrapesSukmir70 on Feb 04, 2010 08:22 AM

    FINALLY! Success thanks to Wikipedia

Fond memories of high school foreign language class gave me this one immediately. Great puzzle!

  26. MeKiwipadlocksan on Feb 04, 2010 03:58 PM

although I am #481 , I knew the answer instantly from the home-page thumbnail. But I went to Google first, because I KNEW I would never get the spell. Official time 6 seconds.

  27. Avatar_profilePeachvsho2099 on Feb 08, 2010 12:32 PM

Okay I have NEVER heard of this before. The first thing that came to mind, I've always thought was a made up word (i.e., flibbertigibbet, jabberwocky, etc.) and then I looked up some [2] salt and was shocked to see it was real.

  28. Avatar_profileApplekgilcreast on Nov 05, 2010 11:44 AM

Frustrating. I recognized the group but did not expect the article at the beginning.
