At first, I couldn't see the forest for the trees, but once I got started, it was fun to solve!

Figuring out how the begin is always the hardest part.
Once I found the first tree, the rest were easy!

I found 10 3-letter words in 9 trees....and got nowhere.

OH so clever you Arnott - say that out loud quickly LOL :) It was so simple, "The leftover letter in each tree space spells a message." & I'm anagramming the leftovers across & down, etc. making it really complicated - SALT - just read. :)
