I want to eat one !
Lame.
Neat.
Ok, reading the explanation makes me want to cry. Especially since I have 2 sons in the military. One is in Iraq right now and the other got back from his 5th tour in Afghanistan this past June.
God bless you, Rashawnsgrandma...and your family too. And thank you for your son-in-law's ultimate sacrifice for our great country.
Any salt would be great...the first part is easy enough (I think).
squeaked in at 99. =P
Thanks, especially for the obit info...as a military retiree and combat veteran, my heart goes out for your son-in-law's family. Thank you and the rest of his family for his selfless service. I appreciate the puzzle, but I really appreciate his sacrifice and your honor of it.
[4] well I must have beat you to it, cuz I couldn't see the screen...must be my allergies...
So - I was in the military, on a submarine no less...and I'm totally lost. Any TG pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. 100 people have cleared it - so I have no pride left! I'm way beyond too proud to ask for help.
[8] what's another name for a sub (submarine sandwich)?
[5] You need less salt than you think.
I'm an idiot...move along, nothing to see here.
For anyone else working on this...don't make it any harder than it has to be.
Your story behind the puzzle is very moving. Bless you...and God be with you Captain Lewis .
[4] . I too have one son who returned from Aghanistan last March and my youngest is in Iraq now....
[7] thank you for your service...I too developed sudden allegies solving this one....
[11] thank you and thanks for the chuckle!...I imagined your face when you figured the answer, having been in military service and all..
Thanks much!
I hope everyone takes the time to read the solution. The real 'aha' moment for me came in learning the greater significance of this puzzle, and reflecting on what the word really means.
I was going to start out saying this was way too easy. But then I read the explanation and I have to say that being easy or hard is not the only reason for a puzzle to have earned is place here. Our idle luxuries, like doing puzzles, are made possible by those who risk everything to preserve and defend this way of life. I appreciate this puzzle and Tanga for putting it here.
And my deepest thanks to Capt. Lewis and his comrades for everything they have given us and for the debt we can never hope to repay.
[11] If you take the first letter of the first clue, the second letter of the third clue and slide the second clue's letters in, around and before those ...
[15] I LOL'd at that for real! Thankfully, my coworker is a tanga-freak too, so it was all good! :)
