  2. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:02 PM

    Fun one!

  3. FileCheeseburgerSydneyHeart on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:03 PM

    Nice one Rocketeer!

  4. Phi3CornPhilana on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:04 PM

    Very clever.

  5. Avatar_profileCarrotmmene on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:05 PM

    Where do you start?

  6. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:06 PM

    [5] With the parenthetical instructions.

  7. FractalEggdduensing on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:13 PM

[6] I really hate responses like that.....I have read it MANY times.

    Still no clue ;(

I already got the extract step...but it seemed like gibberish. Finally solved it with some TG salt.

  8. Rf_avatarTomatoRandiman on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:07 PM

[6] Shouldda trusted my instincts - started with that, then talked myself out of it...

  9. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:07 PM

Took me a second to smoke it out, but good one!

  10. Pretzel3_profileTomatoDavmar on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:08 PM

    Good One :)

  11. Avatar_profileGrapesmorbis on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:08 PM

    Very crafty. Thanks!

  12. FileEggGamesX4 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:11 PM

That font threw me off because all the "n"s look like they are backwards. My first guess was "foreign" since there are 4 "n"s that appear to be reversed.

  13. Avatar_profileCarrotmmene on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:19 PM

[6] - That is where I started and it appears to me that there are two possible ways of using it but both led me nowhere.

Edit: got it. One of my interpretations was correct, I just did not use it the right way the first time.
To everyone else - This is simple. Look for a simple first step. Don't try to be too smart, just try to keep with the instructions...

  14. 250px-lobster_nsrwRocketmeshneiarin on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:11 PM

[5][7] Look carefully at the instructions for a buzzword of some kind.

  15. 100_1703Raspberrysonjahi on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:12 PM

[14] I thought I noticed the buzzword quite easily but don't seem to know what to do with it...

  16. 07310099PepperLakeLivin on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:13 PM

The backward 'N's are not relevant.

  17. 8grg3zbpu691mpv38q2nPancakesjebediehard on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:14 PM

    [14] Good salt

    Rocketeer: very good, as always!

  18. FileEggGamesX4 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:15 PM

[16] I know, I figured that out after trying to make something from them.

  19. FileGarlick1w1 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:15 PM

I took it one step too far!

  20. 6-9-06Xylophonehouck on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:15 PM

Sweet! 5 star fun! Thanks Rocketeer.

  21. Phi3CornPhilana on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:15 PM

The repeated word is also irrelevant.

  22. 100_1703Raspberrysonjahi on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:23 PM

Nice one, Rocketeer. Always humbling to see so many others get it while you just scratch your head. Thanks for the TG, GamesX4.

  23. Avatar_959_jpg100_200x200RaspberryRocketeer on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:24 PM

[21] Ha! I never caught the repeated word! You're right - not important.

  24. Avatar_959_jpg100_200x200RaspberryRocketeer on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:27 PM

[12] Didn't think the font would mislead anyone. Sorry for the unintentional herring - or not. ;-)

  25. MrcleanApplebderrick on Sun Mar 07, 2010 07:33 PM

Liked it, was on the right path for a while, still took some time for the "coin to drop" (No salt was used in this comment)

  26. Avatar_profileLemonBoboBublz on Sun Mar 07, 2010 08:16 PM

    yay :D
I had to read it a third time before I understood it.
I was like "wait, that's not a complete sentence... oohhhhhh"
    :)

  27. Avatar_profileOrangeangellicia on Sun Mar 07, 2010 08:42 PM

all i've managed is to find 2 repeated words. should never try these puzzles right before bed, i know that by now!

  28. Avatar_profileCherriesshinobi on Sun Mar 07, 2010 09:16 PM

    im so confused..and yes..im a noob

  29. 250px-lobster_nsrwRocketmeshneiarin on Sun Mar 07, 2010 09:20 PM

    [27] [28] TG sent.

  30. FileSailboatrashawnsgrandma on Sun Mar 07, 2010 09:20 PM

1 CAT = 2 dogs cuz cats are smarter! LOL
I know mine are cuz they've trained me well!

  31. FileSailboatrashawnsgrandma on Sun Mar 07, 2010 09:24 PM

No salt in [30] just trying to be funny been prepping for a final for a computer class. Ugh! Didja see the cartoon that has the dog tattletaling on the cat saying, "The cat's spraying again!" and ya look at the frame and the cat is spray-painting the wall with "The dog is stupid!" I love that one.

  32. Avatar_profileRocketbarefootrd on Sun Mar 07, 2010 09:33 PM

A TG with help on this would be greatly appreciated. Either I'm noticing the wrong thing, or I'm missing something else major. :(

  33. Avatar_profileBanananwjake77 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 09:42 PM

[Parenthetical instructions] Yes. Yes, I should be. Unfortunately, so far I'm stuck on step 1.

  34. Avatar_profileRocketbarefootrd on Sun Mar 07, 2010 10:24 PM

Wow - nice puzzle once I finally got it.

For those like me, that are having trouble, trying reading the () directions out loud, and focusing on the sound, not the words.

  35. Dscf1890Bananaigmkor66 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 11:50 PM

I completely agree with [34]! Really nice and fun puzzle!

  36. Evil_gnomeOrangebigrob13 on Mon Mar 08, 2010 08:15 AM

um.... i get the hint, but the derived clue doesn't make sense... some of pepper's counterpart, please?

  37. Evil_gnomeOrangebigrob13 on Mon Mar 08, 2010 08:15 AM

of course, the second i post it, the answer hits me. great puzzle rocketeer.

  38. Avatar_profilePlumCLove on Mon Mar 08, 2010 08:56 AM

Im new to the one word wonder puzzles and I just dont get it at all! Can anyone tell me the secret to these puzzles? I've looked at the example puzzle and still dont see how these are done.

  39. Avatar_profileCherriesryancguy on Mon Mar 08, 2010 09:00 AM

[34] you are the best...totally worked...this is the first one i have ever tried

  40. Img_2628Grapesmconolly on Mon Mar 08, 2010 09:01 AM

I liked it... very nice! I started out with what seemed gibberish and walked away for a little while, then it came to me!

  41. Ted_doggPancakesdmlafrance on Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:06 AM

WOW! That puzzle took me a long time to figure - but enjoyed the AHA! moment :) Thanks Rocketeer!

  42. KittylolxRocketjohanna on Mon Mar 08, 2010 08:28 PM

well [34] I read: U should B able 2 solve this 1 with E's but it's getting me nowhere so far. 4 hours later: [44] I know darn well that E is the most common letter in the English language. I'm a Scrabble player but I tell you it isn't helping. Just old and brain dead I guess. 6 hours later. Aaaaaarrrghhhhhhh!

  43. Ted_doggPancakesdmlafrance on Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:44 AM

[42] You're reading too much in it.

  44. MeKiwipadlocksan on Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:19 PM

    This is a great puzzle!

For those still struggling, what is the most commonly used letter in the English language?

And a tip for Noobs, cut an paste the image of the puzzle into a paint program and working it. For some puzzles that is much easier to work on them this way. I was here a long time before anybody turned me on the that.

  45. Avatar_profileOrangeangellicia on Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:51 PM

16 hours after i first started trying, i finally get it. Thank you [29] and [44]! Now is my time to feel stupid lol

  46. Avatar_959_jpg100_200x200RaspberryRocketeer on Mon Mar 08, 2010 05:56 PM

[42] If you still need help let me know!

And yes, I am known for using those kind of words - those of double meaning/purpose ... you'd be on the right track if this were one of my other puzzles:

    :-) http://www.tanga.com/puzzles/3211-5-10-2008 :-)

  47. 100_1847Watermeloncoltsfan3280 on Mon Mar 08, 2010 06:24 PM

Nice puzzle, thanks for some of the post info, really helped.

  48. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Mon Mar 08, 2010 07:09 PM

    I give..until the Hints.
    I have been, before.

  49. Avatar_profileBanananwjake77 on Tue Mar 09, 2010 07:56 PM

You solved this puzzle in 1 day, 23 hours, and 11 minutes and were the 272nd Tanga member to solve it.

And I'm very proud of that. Sometimes you just need to step away and come back later and it all makes sense.

  50. Avatar_profileCherriesGreatGray on Thu Mar 11, 2010 09:38 AM

I pretty much got everything except the final word.

  51. PirogoethPlumPirogoeth on Fri Mar 12, 2010 01:57 PM

Thanks to the clues, that was Easy

  52. ShirlRadishshirl60 on Wed Apr 28, 2010 11:57 PM

I over thought this, going one step too far & kept getting "apiarists is not correct....DOH!
