Each set also has a couple of other things in common that lead to viable answers, but I did appreciate the "A-ha!" moment.

"Salt": Read the sentence at the top. What is it telling you?
so it seems like in each set three word have something in common but one word is different?? so lost
never mind - that theory is not right either :(
