This obviously requires some specialized knowledge that I don't have - I have no idea what those crosses represent.
[12] It's an old-timey game where you bounce the ball and pick up those "crosses" and then catch the ball before it bounces again. The word you are looking for is plural and is used to describe the crosses or the game. TG me if you need more help than that to get a google answer.
