One Word Wonders are word puzzles where the answer is exactly one word. Decipher the image below to come up with the answer. For a better idea on how to solve this puzzle view an example. If you get stuck you can ask for help in the comments section. Hints are posted 24 hours after puzzle's publish date (if provided by author).

anybody know who the person in the pic is?
Jim Carrey. Note what is on his cheek. It seems to apply somehow (I'm guessing here, folks!)
Let's see. We have a very small city in southeast Iowa, a movie poster image that strongly hints at a particular number, and the Genie from Aladdin.
I don't see the connection at all.
Houghton IA has a population of 130 (have no idea if that is salty or not)
is that pronounced huff-ton or how-ton?
A genie usually grants 3 wishes...
(stretching here...)
[4]Not that it matters, but the Houghton in MI is pronounced "HO-tun".
There is a number which identifies Houghton, IA; a number is significant in the movie; Genie grants three wishes. None of which gets me anywhere.
And is our answer letters or numbers? Nothing I have so far seems to work.
the clue does say "pin #"

this puzzlemaker hasn't participated at tanga since june of 2007...
[7] That does not bode well for us!
My problem is now I happened to look that it was signed "the Association" - and after trying to "associate" the numbers, I went on a totally different challenge and have "Cherish" stuck in my brain!
Houghton's elevation is 715...
Hmmm...found a number connected to Houghton. The Association seems significant to me. I looked it up and found references to a popular 60's band as well as a feature film that is currently in production. Even though this information isn't helping me, I thought it might be of assistance to someone else.
houghton has a zip code...
and an area code..or is [11] a hint?
[12] not a hint -no solves yet
just tossing ideas out into the crowd
[10] Hey hun!
If you're talking about the ZIP code, that's the most obvious thing to use. But I haven't gotten anywhere with that.
"The Association" does appear to be a clue. I'm not sure about "Agent"... or even "times" (which should actually have an apostrophe to be grammatically correct). Tried guessing a few synonyms for "catastrophe", too... lol
[11] That is the number I was referring to, although [12] might be on to something, too.
[12][15] There are much larger cities the puzzle creator could have used if the area code was the desired outcome... as that spans several counties. The ZIP code is much more city-specific. But you never know.
Still not getting anywhere with any of that, though.
The Association had a song called "40 Times"...no luck with applying that.
One of the songs on the album Association has a time of 2:33...but couldn't do much with that.

Apparently, I can TG at work but I can't post comments, hence I turn to you!
Could the missing apostrophe in "time's" indicate we should multiply the numbers, or do you suppose that's just an oversight?
NM--I see Murdoctor thought of that, too.
-----------------------------------
I posted this anyway as it ties 14 and 17 together
I poked around on imdb to see if Jim Carrey and Robin Williams were in any films together. Doesn't look like they were, so that's another dead end, it seems.
[16] has a good point on the zip vs. area codes. BTW, you've got a hard oww up now..
Since it seems there will be no salt from the puzzle creator, perhaps we could get Tanga Admin to sprinkle some our way.
Ho. Ly. Crap. I got it.
Okay:
1. Ignore "The Association" for anything more than getting the numbers for the clues.
2. Yes, there is math involved. The puzzle tells you what kind.
3. The answer is a word, not numbers.
Someone got it.
this puzzle asplode
Post and solve. I messed up the order of the digits on the first number. Otherwise, I would have had it a while ago.
This is easier if you use your calculator to make sure your numbers are correct.
[23] Funny that you got that comment number for this puzzle.
UGH.
One crucial clue has already been mentioned. The background is a clue for the final step.
I have numbers, but I'm missing out with the math.
[29] I had to try it a couple of times myself before I got it right.
I can't pick up on a starting point for this. I have a bunch of pieces, but if I try to slam them together, I get things like "NHHNHHOU."
I know exactly what to do. If only I had a number for the town...???
the ol' post n' solve strikes again!
